Did you get the number? Recognize that, when you're my age, it won't matter and you likely won't even remember. Srsly; ask yourself "will this matter when I'm 47?".

It's not what you did, it's the manner in which you did it. Had you asked "TDM is questionable, do you have other sources?" it wouldn't have been seen as an attack on the content or OP.

Put a woman in a group of guys and most, if not all, will cater to her. Put that same woman in a group of women, they now have to negotiate to get what they want (be it the choice in restaurant/club, who drives, who handles the check, et cetera).

It gives shady, lying, manipulative characters an inroad. They start out as her new best friend (and he's only a friend, why are you so jealous) and, soon, he's quietly planting doubts in her head about the two of you. All while maintaining his super best friend image. Once you're on the way out, he escalates the relationship.

There are some 3.5 billion women on the planet. Knock out the under 18 and over 55, you're left with maybe 2 billion or so. Let's say that half are married, so we're now down to a billion, roughly. Let's then assume you can get from 1st meet to F close in a month, that's enough women for 83.3 million years. Speculating that you'll be gaming until you're 60, That's enough women to keep you busy for 1.4 million lifetimes. Now, why in the fuck are you chasing one single woman?

Had she gotten pregnant and decided to keep it, making you ( a minor, unable to enter a binding financial contract) responsible for 18 years of child support payments, can you say that the relationship wouldn't have been harmful. It's not about damage, it's about risk of damage. Kinda like why we prosecute attempted murders instead of just successful murders.

Man, where to start? We're constantly bombarded with advertising portraying guys as bumbling or clueless. Or, if the guy is portrayed as a catch, it's because he caters to women. Music is all about pining over some woman you lost, rather than "no biggie, move on". Religion is implicit to a certain extent, as is school (forcing boys to sit down and shut up, rather than working with the fact that boys generally are more outwardly energetic). Years or decades of this will take a toll on a guy.

I didn't say a thing about women. As a 200+ lb firefighter (250+ after gear), the likelihood of anyone weighing in at 95 pounds and still being able to pull me or my equally beefy brethren out is slim. The drag will likely not be on a flat surface, so navigating stairs and corners further complicates the task. Either go back to SRS or get the chip off your shoulder.
/r/MensRights21/02/13 07:14 PM
7

What you're asking is "can we find tasks for lesser people to do?" and the answer is no. If one of the interior attack teams gets trapped, the firefighters on the outside have to go in and get them. Not a job for a 95 pound weakling of any gender.

Some people won't be convinced, no matter how many hypotheticals you throw at them. They won't get it until it happens to them. When it goes all the way to sex, remind them that the kid - and the parents, essentially - are on the hook for child support. Which is why people try to push back against the biology of adolescence; they have the urge to fuck, but not the means to handle a kid at that age.

A 15 year old is not "raped" just because he had sex with someone older, he is more than capable of making his own decision to sleep or not to sleep with someone. The decision to sleep with someone can come with severe financial repercussions. Children are not allowed to enter into contracts because of their lack of maturity and fiscal savvy. Now do you understand the dilemma?
/r/MensRights25/10/11 12:18 PM

Crazy, most of us quit doing that years ago. We generally look to the larger departments for advances in safety and technique, hard to believe they let that happen. At this point, the NFPA (the folks that regulate damn near all we do) has outright banned the practice (see 6.3.1).

why are non-custodial parents paying up to 1/3rd of their paycheck for child support as opposed to the actual costs of raising said child? Lots of soft costs involved like career slowdown, missed raises & promotions, using vacation days to cover kids that are sick and/or need to see a doc, increased housing & utility costs, covering the endless run of birthday parties, cards & candy for valentine's day/halloween, allowance, et cetera. For the record: single dad, twin teen boys, deadbeat ex.

It's not just about the act; it's about the child being unable to sense the long term repercussions of their actions. The very same reason we don't allow minors to sign contracts.

Dude - I guarantee the kid is gonna cost her much more than $250/mo. to raise with day care, food, medicine, missing work when he's sick, buying clothes, buying presents for birthday parties he's invited to, school supplies, extracurricular school functions, et cetera. Man up and get a second job to pay it. My ex-wife doesn't pay support for our twins (full custody here) and the only reason she's alive is because I'd be suspect #1 when her corpse turns up.

They'll find ways to draw it out. They have no interest in returning the money, once they have it in hand.

Exactly what ghstinthmchne said below, plus there's the chance that she may come into money (lottery, accident payout, inheritance). If that happens, you'll wanna have a judgment in place in order to attach those assets.

Of course not, it was from a woman.

Exactly. They're wording it to minimize that a woman did something basically heinous. Had she ID'd a guy, his life would be over. But let's not spin this one too harsh, shall we.

I didn't state, imply or infer that he is. If we're comfortable killing our own people, what chance does a ferner like Ass-angie have? Clearer now, Jethro?

This isn't about Assange. It's about the powers that be showing the little people what happens when they step out of line. If they can take down someone as well known as the dude heading up Wikileaks, what chance do we proles have?

Agreed. Bush/Cheney to the Hague, stat!

Our own President signed an executive order allowing for the assasination of his constituents. Not a big stretch to assume Assange is in the crosshairs of, at the least, character assassination.

She's in NC now? Civil suit for the cash, filed in a Dallas area court. She (or dad) will likely not show, you get default judgment. Pursue garnishments of paychecks and/or bank accounts. /ianal

No, fire training academys recommend since it's safer. Throwing a person on your shoulders puts them on your helmet, lifting both it and, likely your mask. It puts them square on your SCBA bottle and will wrench your back as you try to lift them into place. The 4-5 seconds it takes you to lift them could have you out the door if you were dragging; grab & pull is much quicker than wrestle, pull upright, twist, drape them on shoulders and then turn back to the door. /firefighter

That's what I thought you were alluding to. Simplest, easiest and safest is the drag, either by arms, shoulders or feet. If you're carrying acros the shoulders, the risk of injury increases for the fireman (back/muscle strain - we're already in 40+ pounds of gear) or for the victim (drop from 5'-6' does more damage than if they're being dragged). Getting through a doorway, when carrying something across your shoulders makes navigation more difficult. Plus, you can drag a lot more than you can ca…
