My whole experience with modern dating frustrations sums up to this . But of course the consequences of sex (ie pregnancy) are women’s problem to deal with 🥴

I was watching this YT story time where the woman was talking about how her MIL wore white to her wedding (I believe she was an a narcissist). She described the interventions and time spent trying to build a relationship only to go no contact. I thought while watching the video, I hope your marriage is worth having to deal with that. I get along with all my family and there’s no drama so idk if I could tolerate it.

Exactly, Asian men may idolize Eurocentric features but how many of them would take white women (and even foreign women in general) home to their family and marry them? Those women are for status and a “good time.”

For real. They’ll whine about women with children who have aged or look tired meanwhile pat themselves on the back for having a dad bod and for what?? You didn’t push out a baby, what’s your excuse?

Yes I did for a while when I was questioning my sexuality. But having read Come As You Are I know I’m not. I thought I was Demi but nah, needing to bond with someone & feel safe & respected to feel arousal + be aroused is part of human biology. My bff identifies as Demi but maybe she’d change her mind if she read the book. You also wanna know how I realized I wasn’t asexual? I traveled abroad and saw many men who put effort into their appearance so they were actually attractive to women. Being i…

I do want to, but only if the conditions are right. I’ve never been in love and have only been in one relationship, which was low value. I’m a romantic at heart (less so as I get older) but I rarely meet men that I’m attracted to. So, yes, but it’s harder to picture the older I get.

You can’t be sexist to men. Just like reverse racism doesn’t exist. So clearly they (surprise surprise) haven’t done the introspection needed for you to care about their opinions.

I’m glad you’re no longer in that situation! Have you read Come As You Are by Emily Nagasaki? It’s a book on female sexuality that is so enlightening. I wish all girls read it before they became sexually active.

You’re right, women are shit at it. It’s not too surprising given female socialization, women being subservient to men for millenniums. The roles our mothers, aunts, grandmothers played. How we’re raised. It is SO important how we teach our daughters and the examples we set. Plus we all know how this site gaslights you to hell.

The handsome charming guy that was present for you in the beginning? He's starting to pull away and breadcrumb you. Yup, been there. Also think about what would happen if you were to get pregnant by this man. Accident's happen, birth control is not 100% effective. Depending on where you live or your circumstance, you may not be able to get an abortion. What would you do? What would that man do? Probably bail.

There’s rumors of how he’s really LV since he couldn’t take ScarJo being more famous and successful than him when they were married. So he married Blake and since she has children she’s been relegated to SAHM and she hasn’t had a big film while his has taken off with Deadpool. Regardless his asinine tweet about using Blakes body as a shield if he needed to protect his daughters from bullets (?) was just so gross to me

I don’t remember what I was reading but it was about a couple’s therapist who was asked if poly couples work. In her experience she’s never seen it.

Seems like it: https://digital.sandiego.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2129&context=sdlr From what I’ve looked into , the language implies that women were able to own bank accounts but there was so much discrimination, especially towards married women, that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 had to be enacted. Like many other civil issues of the 60s-70s.

I saw that news. It’s so terrifying. We cannot rely or buy into the notion of men being “protectors.”

“ Also, you are not gaining sExUaL eXpErIEnCe or lEaRnInG aBoUt yOuR body by hooking up with multiple dudes. They aren’t teaching you anything or reinventing the wheel. They don’t give a shit. They are just ramming their dicks into you the same way any other basic random dude would.” Y U P. Unfortunately young women think this way (I know I did). Got hurt, was a waste of time. But I learned my lesson.

My friend’s abusive ex was telling people he had cancer which is how she got dragged right back in to seeing him again (after how many break ups?). Thing is, it wasn’t even him who told her, it was mutual friends who reached out to her. I was livid.

Even from the 50s-70s I enjoy mens fashion. I think it went downhill starting from the 90s.

Honestly also as an American woman, I can relate. It’s crazy how many good looking men I saw when I was in Japan, a lot of that just from basics like do dressing in a fitted suit and nice hair.

Girl that last sentenced summed up it up insanely. It was like the one thing that triggered men the most when they found out I didn’t eat meat. Between telling them I’m a feminist or a vegan, they had more of a visceral reaction to the latter!!

Yes when it’s too long it actually irritated my skin during sex. So I keep it trimmed and don’t grown it out fully.

100%. Also want to point out how porn is mainstream and accepted but romance novels are a “guilty pleasure” that women are shamed for. Sure, there’s a lot of trash and I cringe just as much regarding covers with nothing but abs on it, but last time I checked romance novels aren’t out here trafficking women.

No sis, what you’re feeling is completely normal. I recommend as others have “Come As You Are” by Emily Nagosaki regarding women’s sexuality and arousal. Sense of safety and emotional connection is very much tied to arousal.

Others have recommended the book “Come As You Are” by Emily Nagosaki about women's sexuality. I’m still in the beginning but on the chapter about causes and rates of arousal for women and it’s EYE OPENING!! About how out arousal is operated through a pedal/breaks type of system (things that arouse and us and things that can prevent/stop our arousal). Studies show women’s arousal is affected about their sense of safety and how their partner views them (among several other things). So yes, of cour…

It’s an old tactic, about control. For thousands of years a woman’s worth was tied to her appearance, so whenever they tried to break free and have equal status as men, she was usually met with backlash in the form of insulting her appearance. Due to patriarchal conditioning, it would result in a blow to her self-esteem. They did it to the suffragettes and the modern feminist movement. The Beauty Myth and The indignities of Being a Woman go deep into this topic.

God, as someone who has a master’s in education it frustrates me to no end when people think they know everything about the higher education system because they happen to go to college, and even worse when they don’t. We have studies that prove that on average the more education you have the more your income rises through your lifetime. It’s not a perfect system but the stats don’t lie.

Ugh, so glad I’m not the only own who’s sick about the abuse of the word empowerment!! It’s become so meaningless. Took the words right out of my mouth: does it grant me money? Gives me political power? Social capital? Property? Or does it just make us ~feel~ good so we can be distracted and not actually pursue that which gives us power.

It’s the build up and tension for me 100%. It really is laughable that women should be shamed for romance novels yet porn is normalized 🥴🤡

The irony is that they’re complaining about a cycle they perpetuated. Not wanting to hire women because they’ll quit when they have a family when women would routinely be fired for getting pregnant because of the belief of their place in the home, which in turn drives their birth rate down because women want to still have a career so they avoid marriage/pregnancy 🙄 mess.

I remember thinking for years while on Reddit when I saw men complain about, “women wanting equality but not wanting to go 50/50 blah blah word vomit,” I would be so annoyed because really?? That’s what you’re complaining about? Are you also working towards women earning more? Fighting abuse against women? What allyship have you provided? Cuz there’s more pressing things regarding women’s liberation. We all know the answer. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who can see through the reddit BS. I t…
