Thanks for taking the time to read and offering a thoughtful reply 😎

Exactly and i agree with that. I think the fringe taking over political movements is a universal phenomena that has corrupted the left (ie communism like actual communism, asian style socialism) and the right (trumpism). I think it eliminates the voice of moderates on the political spectrum and polarizes/creates memes of legitimate viewpoints. My comments about this sub were rooted from the same viewpoint. I was concerned that a more hostile demographic could potentially overtake the more peacef…

I mean i wasn't trying to offer a thesis and it wasn't a personal attack or an attack at all. Just commentary. Given time to reflect im sure i could offer some suggestions but at the present moment i have none. There was no intent for anyone to take offense, honestly i didn't expect such a response to my post, i was just talking stream of consciousness. When i think of some suggestions I'll definitely shoot you a PM :)

I don't have a draft proposal of rules or modifications to rules for this sub. I have made observations that have given me the impression that the tone of the community was shifting. Its not realistic to know which actions would be the most effective without more data. You're in a better position to know that than me. Im just making an observation

If you really think i meant this post in any kind of negative way i think you're being disingenuous. Just trying to offer perspective

Sounds like you're taking it personally. Just saying the tone of the sub has shifted and i was just commenting on it. Its not my personal responsibility to shift the conversation. If i don't want to talk I don't have too, and im allowed to comment if i see a shift in negative direction. It was post was obviously meant to promote a conversation, not insult anyone in particular.

Just making general observations. I've been following this sub for almost half a year. Feel like I've seen a change. Hard to choose specific examples. Just commenting after almost 10+ months of observation of this sub and the change in mood and tone of dialogue

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it and yes agree. I was just saying I've seen the change in the course of a few months. It felt like it went from more intellectual and introspective to angry. You're right though, i can always contribute more as well. I just want to see the left and politics in general return to a healthier place of positive and respectful conversations. Im not calling out anyone in particular or blaming someone. I feel like as a society we all have to help each other be ou…

I think simply put this sub is about conversations and questioning, not hating. I feel like its becoming more hating. If you disagree cool, but i was getting my opinion out into the world. Not trying to convert you or anyone. I don't think anything i said was hateful at all. Like i said i don't even post much nor do i have a desire too. I just like seeing and reading productive conversations. Not sure why you would imply that I have some alterior motive?

I just made a general post clarifying my view. This sub is named left wing male advocates. As everyone knows feminism dominates the politics of the left. In general thats fine, but its literally in the name of this sub reddit. Yes this specifically deals with questioning feminism on the left because the entire sub is based on men on the left advocating for what may be potential overreaches by the extremists in feminism. Im not sure if you're trying to be confrontational or a contrarion but thats…

I do have a nostalgic view of the left from the 90s. I generally see the left as intellectual, calm, rational and patient. With the advent of social media our politics has become more emotional. When i think of a discourse and debate on the left, i dont associate it with emotionally fueled rants and hostility. I know the people like Sam Harris, Eric Weinstein and Joe Rogan are controversial to some, but to me the ability to have conversations in good faith is what the Left is about at its best. …

I was just stating general observations. When i first found this sub i felt like it was more left leaning than even i am and i consider myself a left-center kind of guy. After some conversations that I felt were productive, I felt that i had a more conservative or moderate stance. Point being, now this sub has begun to feel "anti-women" (AKA not socially left), hostile and kind of lost IMO. I think my hope for this sub was that it'd be reflective of left wing values of intellectualism, rationali…

Its a good point but I'm not a lawyer. People win employment discrimination suits all the time

I agree with this but i think falsely reporting a crime, and specifically a felony, is already a crime. I support this but making it so people just cant start vicious rumours would be better.

For the record, im left politically speaking but i can comfortably say the far left has lost its mind on social issues. And to parrot a point made earlier, ive never voted right wing in.my life, never will. Im a strong Bernie Sanders supporter.

Im getting so sick of hearing these stories. At what point will the narrative change? I feel that i may have answered my own question. Defamation (false reporting for felonies specifically) should be a criminal offense punishable with jail time.

Yes do that! Turn off instagram (make private whatever) disappear from social media. It takes two to escalate. Dont give her the pleasure. They run out of steam eventually.

Keep us updated and we'll do our best to help. Every lawyer will give you advice. I think the advice you got so far was good. I'd add turn off your facebook. I know what it feels like to have an online mob coming after you, its terrifying. The last thing you want is to have your name tagged. In the words of my lawyer. These people are toxic, keep your distance. You only have two responses to friends, either keep it simple say "no, it didnt happen" or dont respond. I know what your going through …

I just recently deactivated my facebook prob for good. Social media is the biggest waste of bandwidth on the internet. Just turns everyone into psychotic tribalistic maniacs. I feel your story 100% bro. We live in a fucked up time for sure. Dont feed into it... As my lawyer saud it takes two to have a conversation. Just step away from it all. You'll feel much better.

The most amazing thing about the last graph is that after the 20 something age group, more men think its sexual harrassment than women!!! 😮

When i was a teen in the 90s me and my friends, we were in 7th and 8th grade, would go to hip hop dance clubs for teenagers. We would grind dance and finger the girls in the club, makeout etc. That would be INCONCEIVABLE now! Everyone was having fun. There is this weird dynamic where the more sexually open the mainstream is, the more sexually timid the subculture is! So weird!!!

Copied my own post from r/men I'm (34M) not writing this to demonize women or the younger generation. I've really been having to come to terms recently that the times-are-a-changin'. I've also read that people in their 20s are having less sex. I still find those polls hard to believe. If anything the fringe, more socially awkward males may be having less sex but if anything id say sex is up, but thats just my opinion. This poll is from 2017 but still is valid. Id perfer if this remains at least …
