Paternity is ALWAYS determined by DNA and has been for nearly 5 decades. An RN has no more business speculating as to the paternity of a child (especially not the man who thinks the kid is his) than they do diagnosing someone with lung cancer based on the sound of a bad cough. There’s a whole world of liability that’s opened up for the hospital and the Nurse personally. Like I said, I call bs on the story. I VERY highly doubt that any nurse is going to risk their license (which they stand to los…

My ex wife was a picker... it got to the point where I could NOT be shirtless in front of her without her wanting to inspect every square inch of my back looking for blackheads. Telling her that it made me self conscious only made it worse. I endured nearly 20 years of that shit, and only through a male therapist did I come to see that as the abusive behavior that it was. SO glad she’s gone.

Disgusting. If that guy were to snap and do something awful, I’d have a hard time faulting him.

Because the nurse had no way of knowing for sure that the kid wasn’t his. Paternity can only be determined with absolute certainty via a DNA test. What the nurse told him that was, at best, an educated guess based on experience. Far from reliable in a clinical setting. I’m not saying that nobody should have told the guy to question the kid’s paternity, but it was definitely not the nurse’s place to do that.

The nurse in that scenario was definitely risking not only their job... but their license and their ability to ever work as a nurse again. For that reason, I call bullshit on the whole story. Hard for me to believe that any nurse would risk professional suicide for the sake of doing the right thing.

Heat the pipe and fitting, then apply solder. NEVER heat solder with the torch as it will result in a weak joint and be much more likely to leak.

Ok... first things first: you’re not going to “lose” him to this chick. He’s your friend, and more than likely your friendship will be different. It’s up to you as to whether or not you’re willing to deal with those changes. I personally couldn’t in good conscience stand up as best man at any wedding given my current beliefs about marriage as an institution. You have to grow a pair of balls at that point and politely decline is he does ask you to be his best man. If he really is as much of a fri…

Everywhere that I know of in the US you can and will be held liable financially. Whether or not you play a part in the kid’s life is up to you. From what I know there is no such thing as court ordered visitation. My advice? Protect yourself with either a vasectomy or abstinence. If you truly do not want kids ever, to trust a woman to remember to take a pill every day is insane given the consequences (I’m sure that the chances of your girlfriend maliciously not taking it are slim, so if she did m…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
