I totally agree, and I'm really hoping this is the case. Many people say guys should pay at the start and then you go 50/50 later. That's always seemed so backwards to me - why would I expect a guy I barely know to pay for my meal/drinks? I'd much prefer my boyfriend to pay, because I know it's a gesture from someone who cares about me.

I understand him not wanting to be taken advantage of as a meal ticket/pushover, which is why I haven't pushed this. I feel like I am incredibly feminine and have a lot to offer though. And I really don't want to seem like a gold digger - I CAN pay for my own, and I would pay for both of us sometimes if he did so as well.

Logically I know that makes sense. But in previous relationships, the guy has always paid once we became serious (even before then, and I didn't have to ask). And it feels nice to be taken care of. But I wonder if I'm asking too much... I see by your flair that you're engaged. Did you and your fiance split the bill when you were dating?

Thank you! I've checked them out and there's a lot of great advice there. :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
