I just don’t personally think that there are that many women nowadays who are that averse to video games and with their SO gaming. I think it probably only becomes an issue when it develops into an addiction. But I may be biased.

They likely end up single because of their addiction. Honestly it’s a vicious cycle - use video games to fill a void in your life, let yourself go and don’t care anymore, become or remain single, and pour yourself even more into video games because the void just never gets better.

That’s unfortunate, I’m sorry that has been your experience. I hope one day you find someone who appreciates video games as much as you.

Let me just start with: I love watching my fiance play video games, and also love playing video games on my own and with him. It is one of the many things we bond over. However - there are a lot of people out there (mostly men, because there are still more men into gaming than women statistically, although the numbers have been moving towards equilibrium for a while now) who have literal video game addiction. All of their free time is sucked into a game. No time is given to anything else in thei…

If you make it clear that this relationship is not going anywhere romantically, that you don't have any further intentions with him except as good friends, and he still wants to take you out? Fine, but you should honestly probably pay for your side of the meal. If you accept this dinner under the pretense that you may be interested in him romantically and that this dinner = a date, but are just manipulating him to get free food... no. Absolutely not an ethical thing to do. There are probably ple…

I understand and agree with a lot of what you are saying. The social contract is unfair between the genders. I just want to point out that I think a lot more of this comes from societies being so patriarchal-focused for so long, and the misogyny that still taints the viewpoints of people today. To clarify, I think we are here like this because for the longest time women have been seen as weak (particularly in Western society). I'm not just talking physically, which is a lot of what makes up the …

You may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. The way you phrased it in your post was not really what you're trying to say here. In your post it comes across as a sweeping generalization. There are "low value" men and there are "high value" men, and what they do is not described subjectively, it is described as though there is a value to all men that is objective and can be measured (i.e. their capacity to "provide"). In a subjective environment - which almost everything is subjective whe…

No offense, because it seems like you've been severely hurt by some woman in your past, but this post is a yikes from me. Do we not all seek out the best mate (don't like that wording because it implies the whole goal is procreation) possible for ourselves? If you settle in a relationship, no matter what your gender, aren't you more likely to leave if you find someone who fits you better, who makes you happier? Is that not valid? Can a woman not interact with you and have a casual sexual encount…

I feel like most of this post is pretty off and outdated, and not based in modern day reality. I do not believe there is an "instinctual" desire in men to provide for women and children, and I do not believe there is an "instinctual" desire in women to be provided for and to take care of children. These things that seem "instinctual" are actually just societal influences through the centuries. You can see this by looking at how other societies function and have functioned in the past - there wer…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
