Thanks. This is what I needed and why OYS is so helpful. I will prioritize lifting and looking good.

Thanks. I read this about a year ago and although it resonated, clearly not enough. I guess I have not really bought the idea that women will treat me notably better because I am more buff as opposed to having better frame, charisma, game, personality, character, ambition, etc. But if the difference is that significant, then perhaps it is worth it to shift priority on bulking up.

I see your points. But I will not go on TRT again. I did not half ass anything. I followed a strict procedure, bloodwork regularly, supplements, etc. I did lift while on it and gained about 15 lbs. was bigger than ever before. Felt worse than ever before. I also do know about HCG and did my research. Regarding lifting, I do lift, but only once a week and my focus is on strength, not on gaining mass. Yes, rock climbers are smaller than body builders, arguably less aesthetic. I am okay with that. …

Agreed but I don’t really care about a more fuckable physique to be honest. I would consider myself an adept climber. I mostly boulder and can do V5-V6 range. I have climbed with 5kg more weight and I was def worse off. 145-155 is my sweet spot. When I was 145lbs I was climbing even better, but I looked like a scarecrow. But I could definitely lower the body fat to 12% ish.

Yes, look up “hard flaccid syndrome” if you want to know more. It can be caused by injury to dick during sex, pelvic dysfunction due to sports or lifting with bad posture or, in my case, doing “jelqing” exercises mixed with muscle imbalance due to sports. There is no clearly known cure but many modes of treatments. I have not stopped trying to fix my situation and I could write several books on it from everything I have tried and read about it. In the process I have majorly improved my health, f…

Likely right about giving her a hood fucking. I do this but my hard flaccid issue is definitely a problem in any/all relationships because my libido is missing. I do take cialis to compensate but does not fix my actual sex drive. I have been spending more time trying to fix it but still no manor breakthroughs (lesson to myself 15 years ago - don’t do dick exercises. They can ruin your dick) Regarding game, it has never been an issue for me - maybe my early 20s. but since my late 20s I have been …

Yes - I definitely understand that and have been really changing my actions as of the last few months. Here is one of hundreds of examples: I make breakfast for the kids. Wife: “their oatmeal was too runny too much milk, usually I put a whole banana but you left 1/3 of it unused. (I made it different but it was definitely more than enough food for them). I used to repeat myself, ask follow ups for validation, make sure the person understood what I was saying which just annoyed them. Sounds like you are trying to rationalize (lie to yourself about) why you are holding onto to her when in reality you’re probably just afraid you are not capable of finding someone better. Best course of action in my opinion is to break it off, work on yourself.

You are overthinking things. Who cares what your usual is. Your usual is boring. Who cares if she is or isn’t pouring wine. Mix it up. Do you want to be dominant? Then be dominant. You need to break the routine. You are too damn predictable and you are letting her behaviors guide you. It should be the opposite. You are in her frame.

You’re boring. Be more interesting. “You’re unattractive, be more attractive” I want to tell her how I want to fuck her but she keeps talking. I end up just staring into her eyes to convey that I'm not interested in chit chat. Yeah that will get her wet. Oh no, she kept talking?! Plans foiled. Why didn't you interrupt her? Next time she is droning on and you’re horny, give her a naughty smirk, finger shushing her lips, grab her, spin her around and grab her boobs, whisper dirty things in her ear…

Get used to the fact that women love opportunistically. She is 31 looking for a life-long commitment (and resources) and has a child and other dependents to find someone to help provide for. Her clock is ticking. If you won’t sign the deal now she needs to find other buyers before her time runs out… don’t take it personally. Move on and find other girls who are a lot less rushed to get hitched (and with fewer/no children)…

Not much to add other than I am in a very similar situation - two kids 3yo and 1yo and only just now realizing the “imagine youre a single dad” is golden advice. Do everything yourself and get better at it than your wife. I would rely on her for morning routines and would get mad at her when we were late. She was always miserable, arguing, disagreeable, and dragged her heels more knowing I was depending on her. She was in a crummy mood all car ride and it would bring me down. But you cannot let …

AF/BB. Betas are useful for society. More men are more beta than alpha. Having more betas than alphas allows society to run. Very alpha men are rare and not inclined to be monogamous but get more sex from more women. But most men are either very beta or a healthy mix of alpha and beta, hence can be more monogamous and resort to beta behavior. Humans have created marriage to try to even the playing field so that every man gets a woman and mating partner and the chad’s opportunities are more limit…

Well then you really need to get this together, since it sounds like you've got quite a few months left before she goes back to work. 2 months… And why are you sending your children to daycare when she's home for a year? The toddler is at daycare. The infant is with her all day. Part of setting expectations ahead of time is letting her know "If I have to leave because of your behavior, you're on your own until I return." Appreciate the clarification.

No she is on mat leave for a year. She works full time normally same profession and hours as me. She thinks work is no big deal but I am 10x more successful than she is because she treats it like a job and I treat it as part of my life mission. Your suggestion sounds good on paper but I can’t practically understand the logistics. Do I abandon caring for my very young children in the process? Not pick them up from daycare? Or is part of this letting her deal with everything in her own?
/r/askMRP09/07/23 09:33 PM

I fully agree. Not sure where I am excusing her behavior though. I don’t think it is okay behavior and I find it unacceptable. I am looking for practical ways of enforcing my boundaries related to this behavior.
/r/askMRP09/07/23 09:22 PM

In what way am I excusing the bad behavior? Doesn’t knowing what causes bad behavior help me more appropriately respond to it? Or should I not waste my time worrying about why someone behaves the way they do?

I get the “what to enforce” but could use more help with “how”. I am pretty tarded so I need practical and literal help/suggestions here. If I literally leave the home, my children will not be properly handled because a big part of that is my responsibility. How can one captain/lead when they abandon ship every time their boundary is crossed (which is often in these cases)?
/r/askMRP09/07/23 09:00 PM

Agreed. But some women are much worse/better than others and I think there are reasons for this. She did not tell me she had childhood trauma and that’s why she acts like a bitch a lot, it is something I am figuring out for myself seeing how her parents behave. Or maybe its genetic who knows.

Trying to get the bases covered is why most people are here at MRP. If you already have the bases covered (such as being an effective leader at home and having the respect of your wife) then that is probably 90% of the work. But again, most people on here are far away from “call her out” being remotely effective. Not saying it is bad advice in the long run, but not really useful for most people here.

Yeah, I really am underestimating this hormone thing. I do recall my wife was close to an ideal wife, no fights, anxiety, freakouts, etc when she was pregnant. At least not for the first 6 months or so. I remember telling her I was not ready for her craziness once we had kid 2 and she said to not take it personally. Lol. Here I am now taking it personally. Reminding myself of that has helped a lot.

I don’t think it was my post but I do also have high cholesterol. However, I eat plenty of eggs (5-6 a day) and fatty fish and fish oils. Can’t have dairy though. Good point about cutting out processed foods and sugar. I have a pretty clean diet but it isn’t perfect. I am also lacking solid exercise and cardio. Good general rule of thumb. Thanks. I am not certain I am the typical beta though. I don’t think I have provided enough comfort actually. My problem is that I have been the asshole nice guy. “or is it a mark of pride” Some truth to that - actually, you hit the nail on the head. I come from a rock climbing and bouldering background (15 years of it, mostly recreationally). That’s the fucking question… I am struggling with it but thinking related to my previous edit point: I am working on making the ship amazing. If it is still a paddleboat (which it may still be), I get why she ain’t hopping on board, and I need to work much harder. If one day I judge myself to be a yacht, and she’s still not hopping on board then I think it is time to move on to someone much more willing.

My understanding is that ultimatums are a form of manipulation and inherently outcome dependent. From that way of looking at them they are kind of like a tantrum “if I don’t get what I want, I’mma blow this whole ship up.” Operating with frame requires having boundaries that you have created as you move forward through life. You are on a mission and you aren’t letting shit change your trajectory, unless you determine it helps the mission. Looking at it like that I can see that ultimatum = outcom…
/r/askMRP31/12/22 01:19 AM
1

Interesting. I’ll think more about that. I tend to try to find analogies to understand concepts but I never thought about the outcome dependent aspect making it completely different. I was just referring to the fact that doing what you say and following through makes people (at least a toddler) less likely to try to manipulate you or see you as weak.
/r/askMRP31/12/22 12:12 AM
1

Yes, and I have actually learned that (congruence builds frame) most from parenting my toddler… she does not test me nearly as much as she does my wife now because I always follow through on my words with actions.

I know I royally fucked up before by giving a weak ass ultimatum (cringey ass shit already reading that in hindsight) But just hypothetically wanted to understand more about it. My bf percentage was a very conservative (and bad) guess. Got a BF “smart” scale recently and turns out my BF is actually around 13.4%. Not great but not as bad. Maybe metabolism is the wrong term, but I have always had a hard time gaining weight no matter what and how much I eat. If I didn’t lift and had a standard 2500 to 3000 calorie diet, I would probably be 135lbs.

Tbh I have never measured my bf. I am being conservative there because I think it is lower. I ordered a bf scale to check. Will update next OYS. In terms of weight I have a crazy fast metabolism and need to eat well over 3000 calories a day, train hard, get multiple rest days and sleep well to see weight/muscle gain. One or two busy work days when I only eat twice per day I will lose a pound or two. I need to work on my calorie intake and sleep..

Thanks for taking the time to reply. A few points in there resonate with me but still seem to be inherent contradictions. Two rhetorical points: Be attractive vs do what you want. Of course I want to be attractive, that at least a big part of why I am here at MRP. Is that not a covert contract in and of itself - not with a person per se, but with the “universe”? Put in the work, refine, learn, stfu, lift, get my shit together, etc. and I will be more attractive? If that is not the outcome of all…

I don’t want to get too philosophical here but I don’t see how working to be attractive (which involves often changing your behavior) isn’t a covert contract. It is not you who decides what is and is not attractive about yourself, it is external things ( people, evolution, the universe, etc). Also lifting with a newborn is not the point. I know I could lift at a gym. Just need to eat into the time of something else. But those “something elses” are more of a priority to me. My priorities in order…

Great analysis and feedback. Thanks. In case it isn’t obvious, I am still really having a hard time with the balance between “be attractive” and the inherent covert contract that it creates vs just be you and “do whatever you want.” What if “do what you want” makes you an unattractive bitch? Also regarding chatting up the cute mom - definitely not flirtatious but casual and confident banter. Just chatting with her while with my wife, engaging my wife in the conversation too.

I am prioritizing my career, taking care of my home/family and spending time with my infant daughter, as well as my toddler daughter. I won’t start lifting at a gym until the little one is on a more regular schedule. General: This is a lengthy post as my first since it establishes reference points - tried to be succinct. New to MRP - a bit over a month. I knew about redpill and pickup over 10 years ago, and though I understood the fundamental concepts and applied them to dating and hookups, never fully internalized the core principl…

Her shitty behavior has of course ramped up after the second child, yes. Same happened with our first. Her behavior improved significantly when she was pregnant. Though much of her behavior is likely related to postpartum hormones/depression, she has been like this to a degree from the start in our relationship - argumentative, disagreeable, entitled, “bossy”, etc. So, as much as I can just say “it’s just her hormones and things will get better on their own,” there are fundamental behavioral iss…

I don’t follow your point - maybe miss-communication somewhere. I was the one that told my wife not to put the baby on the pillow and said that is the reason this whole issue went down, etc. during our argument. Basically my argument was “I am not the one to blame - you are!” Does that not fit within the definition of DEERing? Either way, I am not allowing my wife to do that and told her never to do that again. and will do my part to make sure she does not do that again.

If I am honest, I think I am an entitled bitch and have a big fragile ego. I am also hyper critical of everything - this was me for the first several years of my relationship to my wife. Over the last few years of marriage I have stopped this to the extent I am aware. I think the egotistical and entitled behaviour was somewhat advantageous to bed hot young girls in the short term and was very successful for me before. But it is clearly weak and ineffective in long term relationships. My hyper-cr…

Well duh, and of course I know this and mentioned that to her during our short argument but there I went DEERing again and of course it was completely ignored and turned against me. We men use logic and facts as tools in disagreements and it is like showing up to a game of chess with a football.

That is very likely true and I am starting to internalize the mrp idea: Work on myself and constantly improve. Be the judge of my actions and self improvement. work to be the very best version of me. This may change my wife’s behavior one day or it may not. That is not in my control. I do not think I am in a position to even decide whether to leave my wife because I am not the prize. Sure I could easily find much younger, hotter, more feminine and submissive girl given my general status (outside…

Exactly. I have watered down my words from years of DEERing over and over and from seeking validation/affirmation from my wife.

I see what you did there ;)

In theory I get that. In this specific situation I can see how ignoring would have been a better thing to do. But there are many other circumstances where she acts out such as lashing out at her parents parents. Ignoring her would obviously not work in that instance. In those instances I usually just interject forcefully and say “hey, Don’t speak to your parents that way. That is no way to behave and I won’t accept that in this house.” To little effect…

Yeah I can see that… setting myself up for failure if I don’t follow through now. She will absolutely test me on this in the future.

I said that out of emotion, yes. At the time and even now, I am in a place where I find my wife insufferable and a big part of me wants this marriage to end. She is always in a shitty entitled negative bitchy mood and I am basically looking for excuses to throw divorce papers at her… really this post should be “victim puke”

You’re right, I am not in a position to give advice. I have edited the post in the best interest of everyone on here. Thanks.

What makes you say that? You are judging me based on limited info. I am working out 3-5 times a week. Reading through the side bar, consciously working on my stoicism, gaming when possible, investing literally all my free time into this. Sleeping 4-5 hours a night. Just because I made a few deadbedrooms posts (not as a victim but giving earnest advice to guys telling them to get their shit together, btw that got me banned from there anyways)? I am not looking for shortcuts. Like most people on h…

All understood. Thanks. A scenario 3. would be a “next” situation for me. But until then, and after at least 2 solid years of effort, I am definitely the problem and I need to get my shit together.

There have been enough quality responses here that I think I am set for several months of self improvement. Thanks all.

Thanks - great advice. We have divided up the tasks to an extent but it was all done on her terms and with her prompting it happening prior to the second baby coming. So it is all in her frame. I will re-write down all the tasks and redistribute them based on what I think makes sense. Also I have told her about 10 different times to say please or ask nicely. Thinking critically about this, I don’t think I enforce this consistently. I will be mindful of that.

A good question for me to think about and meditate over. Maybe I still have a fragile ego and I don’t like being told what to do and how to do it. It is emasculating to me and I do think her tone is rude/she is being disrespectful, at least in my mind. I know what it sounds like when someone respects you and I know what it sounds like when someone doesn’t. My guy says her communication falls in the latter category

Yes, the major exception is cleaning, cooking and child rearing. Those overlap.

Good call. The house is pretty good honestly but I do fix things all the time. Since the second baby, my hobbies have taken a back seat but I don’t feel like a leader playing around on my guitar, painting or rock climbing while my wife is working her ass off taking care if the kids. I do also like spending time with my kids especially on weekends. I feel like I’m just inventing shit to fix or making up unnecessary projects to keep myself busy. Is that what MRP guys do?

Lol. I literally used to bench press her. Still could probably after her post baby weight. I am 150lbs and one rep max bench is 190lbs (weak sauce still but better than most who cant even bench their weight)

Pre-giving birth weight she was 120lbs and 5’4. Post birth weight 160lbs. She is usually petite. I am 5’10 150lbs lean - rock climber for 10+ years. So technically she is now slightly heavier than me. Lol. With the first baby she lost all her weight and back to 120lbs after about 6-7 months of delivery. Expecting the same with baby 2.

Is she taking responsibility?! Lol hell no. If shit hits the fan it is of course my fault and I don’t cave in there. Is she a better leader? No. Is she a better doer (at some things)? Yes. she is a much better planner and multitasker than me. She can plan 5 different things in her head at any one time and does things months in advance. She thinks about things weeks/months before they happen. How do I know I am a better leader? We work at the same company and started in a similar position as juni…

With house I take care of the maintenance - lawn, fixing shit, trash, some cleaning, do it on my terms. She handles organizing, getting gifts etx.

I am working on this. I would say I am only 50% there. I am 90% there with the older one (2 yo) being the disciplinarian and she actually listens to me. With the 2 month old, well that is where I am a pretty useless bitch and my wife guides me every step of the way.

Yes, I agree and I am working in being stoically cheerful. Rarely if ever show any emotions other than chuckle and go on my way. I have a list of items I do and take care of. Do all the repairs, upgrades calling service people etc. and most home logistics. one of the things I want to do is spend time with my kids and I do that. There are logistics required in doing that which are more often than not on her terms given she needs to pump, breastfeed, eat, go to the washroom so I need to hold the b…
