no, a pedophile is someone attracted to children who are not yet sexually mature. haven't gone through puberty. sex with a sexually mature minor may be a predator, but it is distinctly different than pedophile.

They called her a mother instead of a pedophile. This isn't pedophilia. Look up the definition of pedophilia. The child was 17 which is old enough to consent to sex, however in Idaho at 17 you can only consent to sex with someone up to 5 years older than you. If the age gap is larger then it is a felony but its completely different than like... a priest raping a child or whatever. In some states what this woman did wouldn't even be illegal at all. None of this is how I personally feel about this…

I had a similar situation - after a long term relationship ended I later saw my ex had really messed up her life since we broke up. I see your point of view but it only works in a perfect world. In a perfect world there would be no punishments for crime because if someone broke the law it wasn't their fault - they didn't know better or they felt they had no other options or nobody taught them differently etc. For society in reality to function, at some point we've got to agree that coherent adults are responsible for their own decisions.
