Not happy with it from the moment I’ve signed it. Agreed under pressure. She already broke multiple points agreed. Still points left to go to arbitration/trial.

Another case with more or less the same trail of events. Astonishing.

Not sure this helps, but she most likely did already did it, probably while you were still married. So it is all done and dusted. She’s gone.

She left on her birthday, while I made her favorite food.

Look out for: increased nights out with said friend, late projects at work/other work related commitments, unexpected business trips. Try date nights; if ends in arguments, it’s another sign. I’ve been there.

She decided to leave you and she now has a plan in her mind. Most likely she cheated. This helped her making up her mind. I’ve been there.

Again, so many similar stories. Her “friend” would encourage her to abuse me, to go out 4/5 nights a week, to cheat and what’s worst, she is right now influencing her to alienate the kids and she’s influencing the kids directly. It is heartbreaking and it seems there is nothing I can do about it.

Get a lawyer and File ASAP! It will definitely give you an advantage. You’re welcome.

She was going out drinking every other evening, bragging to her friend how she was leaving me at home taking care of the kids while also complaining what bad husband I was and her friend agreeing with her, belittling me and encouraging her to get drunk and cheat. That’s her best friend, she moved in the same building with her and the kids are telling she heard the friend speaking “bad words about you dad” and “how well mom did to divorce you”. Kids said they don’t want to be around said friend s…

Yes, this. So called “friends” influence them.

I don’t know if I should feel comfort or anger every time I see such similarities. Unbelievable.

If you feel compiled to let her know this things, in hope that she might wake up, she will accuse you of DV and restrictions on you. She thinks she right. Then you’ll know that all is true. And all is lost. The family, the kids future, your state of mind.

Boredom but also motherhood and reaching an age around 40. Realizing that parenthood goes on beyond having a baby they bond with etc. it requires extra work and commitment for long time. They reach a stage where what they thought and agreed with husbands on parenting it is too hard for them to deal with and start blaming the father for all the difficulties any parent goes through at some stage or another. That leads to disconnect from husband and family duties. Which leads to thoughts in their m…

Don’t budge. I hate the trial by judge in family court. If we can’t reach an agreement all the way to trial, we should have a trial by jury. The family court judges are a disgrace.

Welcome to hell. Many of us here asked ourselves the same questions. We searched for answers. There is nothing wrong with you. Your feelings are valid. Unfortunately, it seems that your family (what you thought of it) it’s already yard apart. You won’t have the kids full time and the holidays will be split. I’ve accepted it in my case. The pain is real, but sooner or later the reality will sink in. I know I’m not there yet more then an year later. Sorry.

I didn’t work for two years before the separation. Still ended up having more money then her despite her clearly starting to save money without my knowledge way before it. She got a highly paid job and waited finish the probation period then she made the jump. She took legal insurance from her job for around $8-$16 a month which allowed her to cover attorney expenses of about $40k so far while I’ve had to pay (close to $50k so far). We have two young kids and she didn’t wanted to pay for they su…

I did a lot of thinking and reviewing old communication. I’ve noticed times where she wasn’t happy but she stayed, I don’t know if wanted to try to fix the problems or being afraid of the unknown. What I found out is that she took the decision fairly easily after she cheated and had someone else out there. I did a lot of self reflecting and self analysis and I know I’ve made mistakes but at the end of the day, it was her cheating what pushed her to make the decision to end out 20 years and nothi…

It looks like I’ve survived my 50th birthday. Alone. I stayed home until dinner time then went out with a friend. Didn’t drink too much. I did not enjoy it despite my friend asking me to cheer up. But I made conversation. I’ve tried everything suggested here. It didn’t work. Going down the depression path. What’s next?

It is so hard to take it man. I know what you’re talk about. But I don’t have any other family. She left, so now I only have the kids. You don’t know how hat that mean. To start from nothing, build a family and the losing it. Or maybe you do. I’m not the one to judge.

I will lose everything, I feel. All my money. All my investments. My house. Everything. I will end out in the streets. This is how I feel. But the alternative is to end it all. Does anyone get me?

I’ve tried. I’ve tried everything. I went hiking, went camping. Went out with my friends trying not to talk about it. Drinking. Not drinking. Weed. Daring. My struggle is real. I can not go over it. And then I’m losing. I’m losing on the divorce game. She played me and my attorney didn’t react. And I can not accept losing. Because I was always the primary parent. And I feel the need to fight. Till the end. But I’m worried. I’m scared.

I’ve tried it all. Eat healthy, go to the gym, hangout with good friends, get into therapy, make money on the stock market, drink, not drink, weed, dating. Nothing is working. I’m here, alone, missing my family, not seeing the future.

What will that line will tell me, that my friends, neighbors, lawyers, therapist didn’t tell me yet? I want to fire them all. It doesn’t help. The only thing which helps us when aim with the kids. But when I’m without them, I can’t take it. I can’t go on. You m consumed.

I’ve tried to reason with stbx for the benefit of the kids. I’m $40k+ in attorney fees 10 months down the line. Find an aggressive lawyer, I didn’t. She scores against me again and again. Be ruthless. She’s not on your side anymore. Go for the win. Believe me.

Of course I’ve been the primary parent for more than 2 years but now she wants 50/50 and no support. I’m fighting for full custody with every other weekend for her and alimony and child support. If only I was a woman 🤔

Similar here. No mediation though. She’s making 200k and her lawyer sent a letter asking me to find a job.

There is no fair anymore. Think what’s fair for you and your connection with the kids.

What’s that?
/r/Divorce_Men06/12/22 02:21 AM

Yes you can. Stbx left with the kids, served and kept them for 18 days. Lawyered up and fought it. After her restraining order was thrown out, I picked up the kids from school and informed her they’ll stay with me until court order for temporary parenting plan to makeup time. Court ordered 50/50 until divorce finalizes. I’m fighting for full custody.

This! I was aware of it before and didn’t do it. I didn’t want a divorce to be honest. She prepared for months and filled. I wish I would have prepared myself as per above.
