And how do commission jobs tie in to minimum wage, the subject of this topic? Perhaps I should have been more specific - There are no jobs that pay an hourly wage based on how much you can lift. There are jobs with a minimum requirement for how much you can lift, but you don't make more per hour than someone else based on the exact amount you can carry.

This is the same as racial profiling. That poor kid. Those officers should be taken off the force and face trial for assault and battery.

No, this is not Romeo and Juliet. If it was one girl, there'd be reasonable doubt, but this is a 16 year old boy having sexual contact with multiple girls that are just barely over sexual maturity. That's not OK. If the girls consented, it's obviously not rape, but it's not appropriate, it's disgusting, and he knew better, or should have.

I lift brah. Do you lift? You don't lift brah.

Don't try to speak logic here. The majority of this subreddit is tea party retards, not people that care about anything we're actually supposed to stand for.

Just stop. That has nothing to do with this topic, and furthermore it's not an argument with any merit and never has been. There are no jobs that just require "lifting" and there are plenty of women that can lift more than their male coworkers. No one is paid hourly by how much they can lift, nor should they be. Stop making the rest of us look stupid.

Those are two entirely separate issues, and you're making us all look stupid by posting that. Please take your ignorant spiteful attitude towards women elsewhere.

black people have clearly had it worse throughout history. White men have never faced the same systemic prejudice and segregation black people did. The Irish would like speak to you. People don't seem to remember anything about the Irish from the last few hundred years. Or even that there were a huge number of Irish slaves in America.

So you lack enough reading comprehension to grasp the words "very rarely", but you can understand the rest of it?
/r/MensRights04/10/12 07:10 PM

Feeling uncomfortable and claiming it feels like someone is raping you are different things. The word "rape" carries a HUGE stigma in modern society, using it irresponsibly like that can and does ruin people's lives.
/r/MensRights03/10/12 05:27 PM

It does, but the difference is key - In rape, they don't want it. In their fantasy, they do.
/r/MensRights03/10/12 05:24 PM

And that should somehow receive less outrage why? You can't "feel like" you're being raped. It's not an emotion.
/r/MensRights03/10/12 05:15 PM

Protip: When women say they fantasize about "rape" very rarely is actual rape what they mean. They fantasize about receiving forceful sexual penetration from a stranger that they are attracted to and would enjoy having sex with.

Ok, I read the article. Perhaps you missed this part? She testified that the numerous run-ins with Herbert left her "mortified" and feeling like he was "raping (her) with his eyes."

feminists only have power because men keep giving it to them Not sure if troll or just stupid and mysoginistic. Feminists have power because many women will blindly follow anything they slap the label "equality" on, not because men somehow granted them power that was only the mens' to behold.

What the fuck are you even talking about. I made a comment about how it's bad to talk shit about a child's parents in front of them to someone who didn't think it was. I'm not a campaigning activist, bugger off.

Oh yes, that's right, I forgot it's impossible to be right about one issue and wrong about another! Anyone who believes something wrong must be wrong on every issue! You're a fucking idiot.

This. A child's psychological well being is worth more than your revenge. Speaking as a child who's parents constantly fought and treated eachother like shit after their divorce, it's a pretty fucked up situation to be in when your dad is constantly talking shit about your mom around you, and vis-versa.

As the subreddit has gained traction, it's started to attract people who see it as a haven for misogyny or as a place to preach their white-knight spiel.

A screencap from over a year ago by an anonymous poster on an unnamed website in almost no context with one of the most, if not the most common sexist phrase ever uttered. You felt that was worthy of a new thread? Attention needed to be brought to this issue? Really? Jesus fuck, lets at least let this subreddit stick to things of discussional merit. Can we do that?

What a load of horseshit. As if relationships can only be stale because of men? This chart just furthers the idiotic stereotype that only women want relationships.

Would someone who had any respect for this demographic mock such an effort? This is really guesswork. You don't know how this person thinks, and to peg them as malicious when they're most likely just ignorant isn't that great. Would the author feel ok about writing a similar article mocking an ethnic minority for standing up against an ad campaign that promotes racial stereotypes? That depends on how the author feels about that stereotype. If she thought that the stereotype in question wasn't wi…

She's mocking people who think fathers are treated that way, not fathers in general. While not okay, It's a significant difference.

So what you're saying is, you're upset that you're treated badly, so you're going to act uncivil and treat anyone you disagree with badly. Let me know how that works out for you when you enter the general public.

The article is making light of men being portrayed as inept. The writer is saying that it isn't the common opinion in media that men are bad at being responsible parents. While she is wrong, I certainly don't see hatred of men or fathers in the article. Maybe I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt, but I'd say AvgGuy101 is inferring more from this article than what was implied.

You know what really helps the case of Men's Rights? Calling people cunts, worthless bitches, and acting like an immature teenager. Do yourself, and the rest of us a favor and activate your brain before you start typing in the comment box.

We've already established that SRS are moronic trolls that don't like /r/MensRights, I'm waiting for the part where you tell me the irrefutable evidence of them being the perpetrator. If you don't have that, then anyone who disagrees with you is more rational than an idiot, as you put it.

While I dislike that troll-hole as much as the next guy, they aren't the only, or even the majority of trolls.

Yeah I agree. We can be and should be annoyed by this. False rape claims are a widespread and horrible life-destroying epidemic that plagues men, why should we look the other way when someone's trying to do that same thing to a woman?

/r/MensRights04/05/12 09:09 PM

Because it perpetuates the notion that men are too stupid to perform basic tasks in rearing a child, and that it's acceptable to assume so. I'd say it's pretty important, given that public opinion affects policy, and current policy is far from in favor of men as far as the legal system is concerned about custody.

My dad bought a receipt book and had my mom sign a slip every time before he'd give her a check after the divorce. Not that I don't trust my mom, but it was super smart of my dad, and any father paying child support should do the same. You can buy one for about a dollar at any office supply store.

We live in an age where women are defending themselves if they violently attack a man who has said something mean to them, but men are assaulting a woman if they push her away after she hits him with a blunt weapon. This is why places like /r/MensRights exist.

Your feminist business customer was a shitty customer, that doesn't mean they were a shitty customer because they were feminist. Anecdotal quips about one business customer who's a feminist don't really help the MRM. Things like this make us look bitter and judgmental as a whole. On another point, can you find any documentation about female engineers demanding a higher salary in your area? Something like that would be very nice to have if true.
