RP assumes that most women are playing by the same playbook. They are not. A lot of them are well aware of the RP playbook by now, too.

If you don't know the person personally, I believe that's the best option. If you don't click, you didn't invest too much.

Yeah but I was kind of an asshole in those days. I wanted to have someone else to blame rather than change anything about myself. Life taught me a few lessons since then

Maybe just remind yourself that it's not going to work if every football team plays using the same playbook. The redpill might work for a particular set of games, and may work at first until people catch on. Humans adapted to be adaptable, so any particular dating strategy is going to be quickly countered by other strategies.

I did even when I was following red pill and felt bad. It's hard though; they might interpret an apology as more part of your game.

Like attracts like? If your M.O. is to be manipulative, you'll end up with someone likewise manipulative.

Is it possible that there might be some truth to it, but it's completely blown way out of proportion? I think there are some things that red pill can be right about: that confidence is important, that there's a numbers game in how many people you need to actively go out and meet in order to find someone you mesh with. It's also right when there's an incorrect socialized expectation that men are supposed to "win over a woman's heart" by basically worshiping them and putting them on a pedestal. Wh…

The "women are hypergamous by nature" even if true would be a pretty big logical error of the naturalistic fallacy - just because something is natural doesn't make it right or ideal. Plus, our current environment is quite different from what it was in the past, so it's basically meaningless. What's also illogical is why humans would form one specific strategy, when they could be adaptive about it. Only relying on one strategy makes it easier for other people to counter it. Here's a good example …

Maybe find a role model to emulate if you are having a hard time breaking out of the mindset? Is there someone in your life you have a lot of respect for? Like I always admired Abraham Lincoln. Edit: here might be some more: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensLib/comments/ijabi9/who_are_your_positive_male_role_models/

Anyone who thinks that natural selection would select one strategy when it could pick several competing ones has to be smoking something.

I mean they have a point that romcoms are not an instruction manual on how to date. Should be obvious though since they are just movies.

I am even concerned that some of the "evidence" I see on TRP and WAATGM is fabricated. Some of them are way too consistent with the narrative to be real. If there is anything to "it" it's pretty much gaslighting and emotional abuse. There is a woman I know that keeps chasing a guy that is pretty obviously leading her on. She buys him a lot of expensive gifts, and he doesn't do anything for her in return. He even sends her pictures of him with other female friends and when she reacts negatively, …

I agree. It's definitely important to note that there are plenty of women who are selfish and manipulative and it's dubious to let them represent ALL women. Women who don't resort to petty games or have unrealistic expectations are not the super vocal and visible ones.

I liked it, I'm just annoyed that the protagonist never really "learned." I think that's intentional, however.

Yeah I think I would suggest the same thing to women: cultivate your hobbies and interests, learn how to communicate and be assertive, develop relationships (including friendships), and follow your passions. You want to be someone that has things going for yourself. The goal would be fulfilling relationships, not just the romantic relationship but also friendships, family, etc.

The best I can answer this is just to watch Lisa Ling's This is Life documentary about pick up artists. The dudes went to a pick up artistry camp, but they didn't really learn any negging or manipulative methods to get women (at least what I think of red pill). The pick up expert taught how to portray confidence, and treat other women like people and how to communicate, and that actually worked pretty well for them. I think the two mistakes "beta" dudes make is 1) trying to attract a woman by be…

If red pill works on a particular woman, then that woman is probably not someone you want to have a relationship with anyway. Blue Pill works fine if you treat everyone the same friendly way, whether they're guys or girls, or whether or not your are attracted to them or not. It takes longer, possibly, but worth it.

Women "compete" for the attention of the top echelon of men. They don't want to just settle for any guy. At least that's what RP would probably say.

Also, I'm sure stigmitization of being gay can add additional stressors to the marriage that heterosecual couples may not experience.

Simply put, humans are adaptable to multiple mating strategies. The best mating strategies depend on factors like STD's, environment, etc. It can be more productive for males to hang onto one female at a time (or forever) and have multiple babies with her, especially in an environment where parental investment is a huge factor in mating success of their offspring. It can also be productive for males to not put all their eggs in one basket, since they can't always be sure if their kid is theirs. …

Develop you're own hobbies and skills and get really into them. It's a big turn on to see a girl who's really passionate and good at something unique, whether it be pets, gaming or a sport. It also helps in conversation. Moreover, lay off TV. It gets annoying if that's all you can talk about.

Well it's more like, "geez just give me an frelling chance." Like she said in the video, women seem to just be so caught up on superficial things, that they don't take the time to realize what's underneath, which can be very valuable. Otherwise they have some exact romantic idea of how things should happen, and are inexplicably disappointed when things don't work out that way.

Men cry publicly in other cultures, yet you hardly see it in Hollywood movies. So, I do think it has a lot to do w/ customs and gender roles. I also don't there is an exclusively male way of dealing with stress. I play video games, go for walks, exercise, get drinks but those activities are often with women. Some guys go hunting or golfing to get away from the women, but I still feel that's also a cultural gender role thing.

seems like it's self-perpetuating... fatherlessness leads to teen pregnancy, which pretty much guarentees fatherlessness for the next generation.

I'm with you on this, but I'm wondering about your thoughts (or anyone else's on this subreddit) about gender-dominated professions? Can feminists really blame society if housekeepers tend to be female and construction workers, male... is there some point where biology actually draws a line?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
