Underage people are still able to sneak into nightclubs, and it's rare but not unheard of to have 16-year-olds or even younger starting college. A simple 'Are you over 18, is all you need?' If you want to be clever or tricky about it, you could do something like say, 'I heard there's a big jackpot. I usually don't gamble, but I think I'm going to buy a lottery ticket.
