"no longer fresh"? Have you looked a a page of Match headshots for a bunch of guys in their early to mid 60s? They look freshly DEAD!

These messages are not even from real profiles. They are likely bots or scammers. Unless you get a message that shows a real guy read your actual profile, don't ever respond. Block them and report them. A scammer won't ever say, "I see you are into making metal art - my sister has a studio and I really enjoy watching her work." Or, some intro that indicates friendly commonality based on your profile... On the other hand, I just got a new horse. I nicknamed her "Gorgeous" (similar to her register…

Hey, Guys! Guess what! Women don't get jobs unless they do all the hundred tasks scrote, here, describes, every damn workday. Wifey Grace could be the most amazing biochemist in the state, or the top civil engineer, or politician, or executive director, but she won't get hired for an in-person job with just average grooming that a dude can pass with (clean clothes, haircut, teeth brushed). Wifey Grace has found out she can be terrific at work without all the hundred grooming tasks. Oops! Dangero…

What if communication had been clearer? Maybe this is a guy that needs to understand why she wants specific behavior on a specific day. Men don't all intend to do wrong. Did he clearly understand that she required this, or she would break off the relationship? Hints can seem obvious on one side of a convo, but invisible from the other. I'm old, have known a lot of men, and don't expect that they read minds, or think these things through in the way that women do. HVM don't know everything a HVW w…

Some families and individuals and cultures don't hang a bunch of significance to the day. I've been taught it is super important to a woman to be showered with attention that day, but I don't believe that. Personally, I prefer for 365 days a year to be shown that I'm valued and needed and desired.

I've seen photos stolen for profiles of the former prime minister of NZ, well known models, and the owner of a yoga studio in Switzerland, plus a guy from "Tacoma" clearly posed in the porch of a home in Marseille. Stolen photos are common - suspect every well-groomed, fit, and well dressed American profile you see as being a fake. Always look at his shoes. Dead giveaway. The broken English and non-sequitur personal details, along with minimal information and "Hello, beautiful! How is your day?"…

The "refusal to engage" I thought you meant is that these men refuse to engage with real, live women who want to be in their lives. It's because we have a voice, needs, dignity, and require respect. A pornsick man refuses to engage with you.

Any picture involving a mirror says, "I have nobody in my life who cares enough to take some nice photos of me to help my dating success." I just looked a the umpteenth profile of a guy trying on a suit at a menswear shop. "I don't own any nice clothes." Gack.

Get a subscription to Ancestry.com. From there you can check out the story on who the person is, where they have lived, actual age, perhaps marital status. Then use your state or county superior court case search function to look for criminal cases and family law cases. Use county assessor's offices to see what real property the person owns. LinkedIn will confirm or disprove work history in professionals. Plain ol' Google goes a long way if you have a full name to search.

I've met a lot of HVW through AAUW. Other friends have developed professional networks through Junior League. Depending on your profession, there may be support organizations that are women-only.

It wasn't even worth asking, because. Both otherwise decent people, but I didn't want to even meet. There is a baseline for common sense and judgment, even if you snare a younger woman somehow; it's so cruel to the children. "My dad can't come to graduation, he's in a memory care unit..."

It's not just young women. I prefer childless men, and I'm 62. I've met two 65-year-old men this year who both have 9-year-olds at home. Can't go there.

It's equally involuntary as fitness, social graces, hygiene, health habits, education, plans for the future, generosity, fashion sense, and self-awareness. If life has kept you from "voluntarily" taking care of or making something of yourself and those around you, then you may not be getting laid very often.

I'm an old woman. I missed the whole "orders" that came down in my mid years saying we must shave natural hair that has a health purpose. Imagine my surprise when I returned to dating in my senior years to find my bits were no longer legal. Oddly, the same LVM I met who delivered this news also wanted to dictate what I wore (dresses only), small floral prints, must sleep naked or I was "rejecting" him. When my body decided he wasn't orgasm-worthy, it somehow made him not feel "like a man". He wa…

So this tells me (62) that I have to have flowing hair, not short; and it has to be the color of a twenty-something's. Oh, and some, maybe a lot of, plastic surgery. Otherwise it's a no-go for me as I really am.

Same result from owning a powerboat. I live in a rural, agricultural area and one day a group of women attorneys from Seattle came out to town for a ride on their bikes. Maybe 25 ladies. I was getting gas for the boat at one of the larger corner stations (the lovely Chimacum, WA) when the bike group roared in for fuel and snacks and plumbing. I swear, the entire acre on the corner went silent, with motionless welfare males wide-eyed with shock. There was a sci-fi quality to the moment, incompreh…

I had an ex who wanted "to see me in dresses and floral prints." Not my barn clothes, apparently. Or my clean, PNW sport-type casual wardrobe either. Oh, and nope to dresses in the PNW for the 10 cold, wet months, thank you. Gentlemen, feel all the freedom in your style choices, all you wish. I get to choose what I wear, now that we're adults, and so do you. I get to choose you, or not. Perhaps you'll get rejected for your lack of grooming or attention to fit, condition, and quality of menswear.…

Are you in the U.S.? Part of it is our contemporary culture. I've traveled overseas primarily in Europe, most recently in rural Spain earlier this year, and it's refreshing to see slim, well- dressed and meticulously-groomed men of all ages, everywhere. They aren't sedentary or withdrawn, they have a wonderful fresh diet, and they are not expected to work ridiculous hours with no down time. They socialize profusely and spend time with family young and old. These things alone mean they look energ…

Anytime I hear a man quoting a best-seller pop psychology theory, especially one written by a man, it's a huge turnoff. Dude, you can do better. Figure out what good relationships are built on, then change your failed behaviors and try again. Three simple steps. That'll be 19.99 paperback, 27.99 hardback, thank you.

Possessions. That's all women are for waaaay too many men. My father, a doctor, threatened to kill my stepmother's gynecologist. My stepmother had gone into surgery for a significant pelvic condition at age 50. During the procedure, the surgeon found some additional disease, and performed a complete hysterectomy, as it was apparent that was the best way to preserve her overall health. I was a small child, but apparently my father went into a very public weeks long rage because he hadn't given co…

Thank you for this. I might as well acknowledge my "young and poor" preference now, because I have been dismayed at the "old and wealthy" dates I've had who don't respect me, as a matter of course. This is why I have decided that I won't date at all until Covid is over. If he's actively looking to date during a pandemic, the chances of any or all of the following are much higher: He is hoping to get sex with the lowest possible amount of effort; He doesn't take the pandemic seriously, which means he's probably putting himself (and by extension, anyone he comes into close contact with) at high risk for contracting Covid; He's politically right-wing, which is incompatible with my values; He thi…

The reality of dating during a pandemic is that unless you are both ready to cocoon with someone exclusively as a household, you can't safely kiss them, or be physically close to them. This makes the pre-commitment phase deadly. Please don't risk your life to be around someone when you both are not ready to be 100% exclusive.

What's exhausting is to have the added duty of pointing out what needs to be done. Hearing that from a spouse and father of three kids who was only home weekends year after year was (eventually) my life-changing prod. Can you imagine a co-pilot on a jumbo jet saying, "if you just tell me what you want me to do, I'll gladly do it."?

We aren't trying to impress you; we seem to be trying to get through the barriers to having sex, but don't want it to be much work or take us away from what really satisfies us. Oh, and we have pathetic, pedestrian palates. Bet you can't wait to date us."

Still learning. The last time I didn't follow my own advice, which was...um... last Friday, I followed up with a hunch that I was being lied to. Turns out Mr. Suave has at least three restraining orders against him, is married but in a contentious divorce, his "medals" are his father's, his home-fermented "wine" is from TJs, his father the Korean War hero didn't kill his mother - she overdosed on Valium, he's not a veteran of undercover Central American CONTRA operations, nobody actually wants h…

"They know something about his character you still don't." Repeat this as a mantra! This is really the window to look into right from the start; and you can manage this casually on a first date without much resistance. He might be lying about his relationship status and past, but he might not think to lie about his parents and siblings. I'm a senior citizen, so I always ask a few casual questions about about his kids and grandkids. Before the first date, you've already checked his state court re…

I assure you it's quite common in the over 60 singles, as well. I listen to this for a while on a first date, but all I really hear is, "I Won't Grow Up, I Won't Grow Up, No Matter What You Do...." This does not look good on a silver-haired male.

Within FRC, Kendrick is a revered icon of selflessness. My local team dedicated our season to him last year. Both girls and boys inside the culture of FIRST understand what his sacrifice represents. At his age I would have had no idea what that level of love for my fellow people could require. Then again, it was the pre-mass shooting era, before guns became so much a part of damaged and dysfunctional manhood.
