I mean this could also be related to the fact that one of the guys initiated a sexual situation, al the girls said no, and he still continued. Comfortability and safeness is a huge factor and I doubt any of those girls felt much of either. Not saying that there’s definitely no differences between men and women’s libidos, but I think your example is skewed because of the power dynamics and likely uncomfortable situation those girls were probably in. You also can’t know that they actually found it…

Yeah I guess I didn’t phrase it exactly right. More so that there are people that could fit into these categories if they wanted to. People who don’t conform to certain genders have been around forever. But also every culture has a different construction of gender and respective norms so it can be totally different. Like you mentioned intersex people who may not personally feel like they fit with either of the traditional genders.

Sorry for my ignorance though, i live in a predominantly traditional country so we do not have these things It’s really awesome that you owned this! You probably do have things like this in your country but there isn’t a way to talk about it/acknowledge it. Either due to norms or lack of language/terms.

That’s not adulthood, that’s children who never learned to control their anger. An eye for an eye is already shitty, but an eye for a life is just absurd. If someone kicks you and you stab them, you’re the asshole If someone hits you with a whiffle ball bat and you punch them, you’re a fucking child If someone says you’re dumb and you murder their family, you’re a murderer, a child, and the asshole If you’re instinct is to escalate, you need to take the time to address your emotions because you …

Soooo. . . We agree?

I’m confused what point you’re trying to make? We’re in a shitty misogynistic sub in that thinks it’s justified for someone to throw a heavy ass blender in retaliation to someone throwing food.

What’s justifiable about escalating a violent situation?

As a man myself I like to stand up to it not by denying that there’s a problem, but by acting in ways that don’t contribute to it.

If I meant most men, I would’ve said most men. I was very specific with my wording.

I was very careful to not say most or all, calm down pal. If even 3% of men are doing this shit it’s too many, and we all can do at least a little more to stop it. I’m not perpetuating any stereotypes

How about “too many” men?

Nope but continually pursuing after rejection, and other forms of pressuring/use of power dynamics is.

While I agree with you, the fact that a lot of men engage in or don’t stop their friends from engaging in rape-y behavior is worse. I think a lot of our actions can condone (not endorse) that kind of thing and almost all of us could be more aware of how we can make women feel safer.

Feminism is about making the quality of femininity not a bad thing. For everyone. All those women’s marches are terrorism right? It’s not about supremacy and anyone who uses it in that way is not actually feminist.

Feminism doesn’t attack men. Some people who claim to be feminists do, but feminism in and of itself is not about tearing anyone down.

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard a woman name a prison rape joke. (That of course doesn’t mean that no woman has)

Similarly, I feel like the only people who actually meaningfully oppress men are other men who promote hypermasculinity.

being offended at every slur is annoying Sorry that it's annoying to you, but I think that certain words are slurs for a reason, and shouldn't be used. In other words, I think people using slurs is annoying Anyways insults aren't going anywhere and nothing is off limits Sure there will always be insults, but why can't we call an idiot an idiot without resorting to bringing disabled people into the insult? I like my insults to only offend the people I'm insulting, not innocent people who already …

Are you saying we shouldn't accept disabled people because of their disabilities? They're still people with valid emotions and thoughts.

By using retard as an insult your being ableist. I hate TD too, but you're stopping to their level.

You managed to be ableist while calling someone else out for it, good job.
/r/PussyPassDenied05/04/17 12:18 AM

Because ableism is more accepted in today's society than racism, homophobia, and sexism. I hate how common it is among all different types of people, and among even the most accepting of subreddits. Maybe we should get a revolution on /r/Wholsomememes. I doubt that here is the place to fix it.

Just because you don't doesn't mean that people who are actually affected by it don't

Any actual feminist would be upset that men are under represented in a google search for both nurse and flight attendant. It may not be a huge problem in and of itself, but it's definitely an indicator of inequality that exists in modern society.

It's a bunch of guys who are "involuntarily celibate" and hate women because of it iirc

You said that academics aren't biased anymore, and to draw attention to that, I used hyperbole. I can't misrepresent what you said if everyone who sees my comment has to pass yours to get to it.

Not in today's world. Hey everyone, this random person on the internet says sexism is dead! Time to wrap it up I guess...
