Reanimated this account to tell you you're a retard. Motility is a fucking stupid definition of "life." Women don't just make sperm cells bigger, they contribute to the genotype and phenotype of their child, moreso than the father frankly. There's a reason most reproductive research focuses on the maternal side.

I think you may be conflating "raw sexual desire" and general relsationship desire a bit, which often go together, but not always. Her eagerness to cater to you is another - meals cooked, happy shoulder rubs all the time, she always wants to cuddle and be right up under you, etc. Women do this kind of stuff for people they're not sexually attracted to though. Women do this in dead bedrooms. Women who aren't that into sex do this. This is a good indicator for how invested a woman is in the relati…

To be fair, when we're talking about these relationships, I don't think anyone is out here fucking without building up to it first. So using sex as a litmus test for attraction isn't going to filter out women who would fuck you but not make out in this context anyway. And if a guy told me a woman wouldn't make out with him but would have sex, I'd say that's a red flag and she may not be into you too. I just don't think that's common... right? That sounds more like a fwb relationship completely b…

I definitely don't think there's a specific timeline, but I do think a few months exceeds it. Like, if I were attracted enough to someone and they were actively trying to have sex with me, I don't think I'd even be physically capable of rejecting them for months (especially if we've been intimate in other ways) regardless of my fears about trust and getting hurt. Sexy people make you stupid. If you care about getting a partner who will desire lots of sex with you, imo, it's best to get with a wo…

Not a man, but if a male friend told me a girl he was seeing wouldn't have sex with him 2-3 months in, I'd probably tell him it's a red flag and she likely doesn't enjoy sex that much or doesn't find him attractive. I guess this is a way to filter out players, but at the risk of filtering out plenty of eligible guys who just care about sex and attraction.

When people say that women aren't taken seriously, they do not literally mean that women are not cared for. They mean that compared to men, doctors often listen to women's complaints less, take their pain less seriously, assume that female patients are less trustworthy/histrionic, etc. The existence of obgyn as a distinct entity has absolutely nothing to do with that

Bonds are not logical like that. It's just how the human brain works. A baby that has big beautiful eyes, cute little hands and feet, and needs you evokes strong feelings of love in people that you just don't always feel upon seeing that little plus sign on the pregnancy test. But, I'd make the argument abortion then adoption can be logical. Most women want to raise children in a loving, stable family when they're ready. Getting pregnant when you don't have that support system, or just don't wan…

Well, I doubt she meant all women are capable. I certainly would disagree with that anyway. But I seriously contest the idea that a woman who has an abortion is incapable of raising an adopted child with love. I'm sure this happens all the time. Women don't always bond with their unborn fetus the way they bond with a living, breathing child who they want and see as their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/18 08:12 PM

When a woman can abort her own child, how the hell can she be capable of nurturing someone else's child. ????? Are you not aware that adoptions exists? Like, women literally do nurture someone else's child every day and love them like their own. The existence of abortion doesn't change that at all. How are you making this insane argument

Consent is about power, yeah, but not the way you're saying it is. It's about recognizing the bodily autonomy of others. It's about gaining the power to determine what is done to your body, and yes, punishing people who violate that. What's the alternative here? Deciding that women have to just grin and bear the advances of men who they don't want touching their bodies? When heterosexual men shun the advances of gay men touching them without consent, are they "pushing gay men out of the dating m…

I'm a pretty blue pill lesbian, but yes somewhat. Things like outcome independence, not giving a fuck, putting more effort into actually being fuckable I especially think are helpful. I just explained one theory for how homosexuality can be beneficial evolutionarily. Reread my comment. Studies have shown that in certain species, homosexuality literally results in genes being passed on at a higher rate. Not by the homosexual obviously, but by a relative with similar genes. Let's say that one group of field mice have this gene that makes their sweat mask their scent to predators. So they don't get eaten. But let's say that this group of field mice also has another gene that ren…

Probably incel types. That's not an attitude I see irl often. Though in my experience lots men go through a period where they struggle to talk and relate to women. But this is at a young, awkward stage of their lives that most men grow out of. Maybe it's an age thing as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/18 06:55 PM

I'm sorry dude, but you are pretty obviously not that informed on this subject, and are unfamiliar with different theories on why homosexuality exists. Genes don't work that way. They're either passed on to the next generation, or they're not. A homosexual creature isn't passing on its genes. Actually, this isn't entirely true. It's best to have your own offspring, yes, but that's not the only way to pass on "your" genes. Relatives share similar DNA. Carriers for genes exist. For example, I've r…

Evolutionary psychology has not mostly been debunked, wtf? A lot of theories within the field have had some pretty strong conflicting evidence, but that makes no sense. That evolution has influenced our psychology is not up for debate, really. It's just hard to determine how.

Probably 2, unless I'm engaged with my own conversation. I'm not about to act like a weirdo because some girl I've just started seeing is talking to 2 other people at a damn social event. I'd probably put my arm around her or something, because at least one of them is probably flirting, and also because I like it. Still, I think it'd be a little strange to get super threatened by this, especially considering it's not a one on one, isolated situation.

You don't need to do all this girl. Someone who loves you and wants to be with you is very unlikely to be happy about you being away from 730 to 930 5 days a week, completely by choice. Even as a pretty big liberal, it's always annoyed me how others describe privilege. Privilege exists and is a very useful concept imo, but it is heavily context-dependent and it's often difficult to tell when privilege is in play or to what degree. It's okay to acknowledge that even minorities have privilege in certain circumstances.

The gender dynamic means women can always be passive and attract mates, and advertising their eligibillity is hardly necessary or even relevant given female selectiveness. Only low SMV women would logically be on dating sites. Apps/sites like Tinder allow for faster filtering. In the real world you get attention from all sorts of men and you're probably not interested in most of them. Tinder allows you to select only men you find acceptably attractive to interact with you. And you can do it in y…

This is 100% true. In college I played a sport with the most masculine looking man I've ever seen. Well over 6', huge but still absolutely ripped. Over 200lbs witn a 6 pack, definitely juices. This is not my personal experience at all, nor is it how I see my hetero friends dating especially with the advent of Tinder. Most people I know participate in "hook up culture" and have sex at least within the first month of seeing each other. I'm wondering if there's a different meaning when conservatives vs. liberals think of society looking up to masculine men. Conservatives might think of like, good masculine men being looked up to, like a military officer, construction worker, or even a Christian man who leads his household, something along those lines. While a liberal may be thinking more along the lines of looking up to a hypermasculine football player who beats his wife, and believe that at least in the past aggressive masculi…

And I'm all for giving kids leeway if they're close in age - a 12 year old who has sex with another 12 year old is a far cry from an 18 year old who does the same. Puberty now starts on average 6 years earlier than a hundred years ago, but our age of consent laws are still based on the assumption that puberty starts at 17. Age of consent isn't about puberty. Puberty is a terrible indicator of how mentally ready a child is for sex imo, there are 7 year olds going through it. We can acknowledge that children have sexual feelings very early on without just letting them go at it.

Southern women frankly tend to be of lower class, or ethics, regardless of income and upbringing. I find it hard to believe income and upbringing don't play into this. You take a wealthy southern girl who goes to college in like, Austin and a girl from an impoverished small town, they're going to be very different. If you want a more progressive woman with her own income, less religious, likes traveling, clubbing, drinking or drugs, no rush to settle down etc. I suppose you'd find more in the North/blue states. I've heard men talk about fear boners, though usually in the context of like, scary sexy women so probably not the same thing. I'm gonna ask a male friend about this. The fact that this happens to women has actually been a criticism of certain studies that try to measure arousal by genital blood flow. For women, it may not be a reliable indicator of arousal. I've heard that it's to protect damage to the genitals during rape which makes sense but I have no idea how true it is.

Feminists would likely say that those are largely due to the social conditioning too. I agree that this would also be part of the problem with healthcare costs. Like I already mentioned and gave examples of, men dying sooner is at least partially due to social/cultural factors. I acknowledge that, but this is not because of discrimination in healthcare as an institution specifically, which is the subject of this debate. But yes, feminists, or at least I would argue that this is an example of mal…

Pay attention to the context of my post. The op is clearly implying that women have "better healthcare" because they are women, MrSmoogs is supporting that with his healthcare expenditure data. You cannot seriously present the opinion that men and women have evolved over thousands of years to where they would both have equivalent health care costs (all other things being equal). I have no idea, there's probably some difference, but we don't live in a world where men and women make the same choices in regards to Health. Sorry for pestering you into a solid argument 🙄 It's mostly their longer life expectancy. That accounts for 2/5 difference So, more healthcare spending is spent on women, but this is unlikely due to sex based discrimination. If you're a man who doesn't engage in unhealthy behaviors like drinking, smoking etc that lead to shorter life expectancy, you're not barred from the benefits that women receives so i's not so much healthcare favoring women. Men aren't getting cut off in healthcare, but life…

Extra spending due to pregnancy helps everyone; that's not a fair metric at all and you know it. You've got to break down spending more to see if this is the case. The breast cancer v prostate cancer is a good example, but not per capita spending in general.

I agree that's not the point. But the reason reproduction discussion is so focused on the female side is extremely obvious. Men have sperm, women have their eggs, these are important, but then you've got a 9 month period where all sorts of stuff happens and soooo much can go wrong, and then you've got delivery where even more shit can hit the fan. This is all important for the fetus' development, plus men aren't out here dying and getting their bodies wrecked from pregnancy and child birth. Read…

Ok sure. I promise you boners aren't as complicated as pregnancy and maternal-fetal interactions but that's beside the point. What research do you think needs to be done on erections and how would this help make healthier babies? What complications arise from erections that need to be addressed, and why are they equally important to pregnancy and fetal health? How can we improve infant mortality rate by studying the penis getting engorged with blood, before conception has occured? Look man, if y…

I work in research related to women's reproductive health. Trust me, there's a good reason so much money is spent on it; it benefits literally everyone ever born, not just women. Also no shit we spend less money on the male side of things???? Men don't get pregnant. There's much, much less that can go wrong from their end.

But it appears by this data that not many women are being coerced into doing anal when they don’t like it. Ok, that's fair. I mostly had issue with your acting like anal is the end all be all for women. But your link still doesn't necessarily prove that women aren't being coerced. You don't understand how to interpret data. Your own article explains why this doesn't necessarily mean anal sex is the best way for most women to achieve orgasm. Yes, some women like anal, duh, and they really like it. This does not mean that the vast majority of women would enjoy anal and would not find it incredibly painful and uncomfortable, as is often reported by women. 31 women cumming frequently from anal (or, rather cumming from the clitoral stimulation that accompanies it) does not mea…

I'm sure there's some truth to what you're saying, but I think you're going way too far. Like, female orgasms can be POWERFUL. Interestingly, I've encountered similar attitudes from some men. They claim not to care about getting a woman off or perform oral sex, because he's so attractive/alpha that he doesn't need to. It doesn't seem out of the question that there's a grain of truth to these 2 ideas - a lot of people seem compelled to compensate for a lack of attractiveness in some fashion. I didnt claim to be pro-nudism? More like neutral-nudism. Nudity isn't necessarily sexual to me, but it can be so actively seeking it out is kinda suspicious. I cannot imagine having any desire whatsoever to compare my dad's dick to anything ever. What exactly are you trying to prove here?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/18 09:14 PM

Because whenever I've seen my parents nude it's been incidental. I wasn't trying to see them naked, they just happened to be naked and I didn't care. I wouldn't intentionally seek out their naked bodies, that'd be strange. I also just get a little weirded out when people turn themselves and their families to political spectacles for the world to see in general.

Sexual misconduct accusations and public shaming on a national level are enough to turn most men away from the idea of casual pickups. ESPECIALLY if you profit from your reputation. Lmao what a convenient place to cut off my quote. What I actually said is: It implies that women are always out here flinging tape accusations at men who simply talk to them. /r/PurplePillDebate13/07/18 06:51 PM
12

Uhhhh, yeah? I don't see how this invalidates anything I've said. Most women have experience with some form of pushy, aggressive male sexuality. My original argument was that it's insane to be afraid of catching a rape accusation by simply approaching a woman. Most women have been on the receiving end of much worse than a simple approach, often without doing anything in retaliation. I was also saying that men often actually harass, grope, or follow women with no consequences, and have seen this …

Sexist may not be the best term - I was mostly thinking of the theoretical j law comment there which is more overtly sexist imo so my b. I do think an argument could be made that he may have some sexist beliefs, but then I would have to interpret what he said uncharitably. But when a man publically says that he is afraid to approach women, which again, is a normal human interaction that most male celebrities do pretty often, for fear of getting a rape accusation, AND then complain about not bein…

Idk man, I really am just taking what he literally said. If J Law had made those comments, you really wouldn't be like, ok that's a bit hysterical and sexist? Because that's essentially my reaction here. I wouldn't consider myself "outraged" but I'm not left with a positive impression of the dude. He's the one using imagery of hell to describe what most people view as normal human interaction. How am I not gonna call him dramatic for that shit lol
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/18 05:35 PM
10

The point is he was asked about his feelings. Somehow even when men are asked their feelings about something, it gets turned around to how women mightfeel about the man’s feelings. Well yeah. When you're a celebrity people are gonna talk about their feelings about your feelings. If J Law said "I dont feel safe being in a room with a man, I dont want to cast myself into the flames of hell like that and potentially get raped," people would probably voice their feelings on that crazy statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/18 05:06 PM
13

While I won't say that this double standard has nothing to do with sexism, I dont think the two situations are perfectly analogous. Almost all women through either personal experience or from hearing about it from other close women have had negative experiences with pushy, aggressive male sexuality. Whether it's stories about rape, rapey/uncomfortable comments and jokes, groping, sexual assault, porn, etc. For example, read some of these responses: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/324…

The way I see it is it's not "I won't date a transwoman because they're not really women" it's "I'd date a transwoman, but I won't change my appearance/genital preferences for one." For example, if my gf were to tell me tomorrow that she's biologically male I wouldn't care. I like her personality and her body is indistinguishable from a cis woman's. That's what's important to me, not chromosomes or whatever else.

These 2 positions don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. Imo, transsexuality is definitely a real thing, but I have seen people out there who appear to fetishize it the way you describe. People will fetishize anything though, and the number of fetishists far outweighs the number of trans people, so this could be responsible for the overexposure of trans fetishists.

This is such a bizarre way of looking at the world. Men are perfectly capable of providing value to the people around them should they choose. Even if women don't need them as desperately as they did in the past they still choose to be with them by and large.

Because if I were to boycott every form of media that has something misognyistic/bigoted in some way, I wouldn't have anything left to enjoy. When women speak out, they want to continue to enjoy the things they like, but with less misogyny. Nothing is perfect, and at the end of the day, I'm gonna live my life and try not to let the world bother me too much. Many women have been fighting misogyny for decades, some dedicated their careers to this. Clearly some do care.

I love rap, but not the misogyny in it. But I also don't take it seriously. I like not giving a fuck and belting out some of the ridiculous lines. I realize that most of my favorite rappers probably aren't good people, but I love the sound of their music so I listen to it. I enjoy the over the top braggadocio, and recognize it for what it is.

When I watched the season finale (spoiler alert) my friends accidentally "spoiled" that Walts baby dies as a joke that I 100% fell for.... so as the episode progressed I was constantly waiting for it to happen, and growing more and more confused on how it was going down. The last minute of the episode I just yelled "when is this baby going to die???" and my friends cracked up. I was expecting a completely different episode, and was also a little disappointed. Amazing show though!

That's nice. Large newspapers with millions of readers seem to disagree with you, you problematic sexist: Like I give a fuck lol. Okay, so evidently we have 2 completely different experiences. Again, I'm guessing this is at least somewhat of a generational difference. Or maybe differing definitions of "touch." Like I said, obviously certain kinds of touch are unacceptable, think back rubs, thigh touches. Also it requires charisma and social competency. No they won't. It's the touching that's the problem. That's very different from light touching/kino, and you know it. Right, which is why I also included the male server example since he's a stranger. That was meant to show that I do not find male touching offensive. No you wouldn't. You just need to not touch those men. I like what /u/belletaco said about about being hyper aware that unenthusiastic sex is bad for women. Women are probably more cognizant of this than men, so as a woman I know that having sex my partner doesn't want will likely damage our relationship and could hurt her ability to enjoy sex with me in the future. I'm also instinctively aware that nagging your partner for sex is incredibly unattractive... there are much better ways to get the sex you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/18 06:41 PM
2

I guess I don't know if most men can achieve this from women, but hearing my male friends talk it certainly seems they do, though people tend to exaggerate this stuff. I'm a woman but HL so it's rare for me to not be enthused - and my partner's enthusiasm will make or break sex for me. If I don't think my partner is feeling particularly horny, I put effort into making her feel that way instead of jumping into it, seems like a solid strategy. But talking to women with lower libidos, sometimes the…

Well, yeah. I think leaving > cheating in practically every situation. I don't view leaving someone as shitty at all in most cases. I'm not trying to be an arbiter who determines that leaving for reasons xyz only are acceptable for other people. I guess you could say that means I value fidelity the most, but I'm not sure. A wife who cheats will wreck me, a disloyal wife will depress me, an unattractive wife won't interest me. If she lacks any of those 3 things she isn't a suitable wife for most.…

Honestly, it's probably merciful to leave someone you've lost all attraction to rather than lead them on. Is Commitment most important? Or Fidelity? Or Loyalty? Or Attraction? It's hard for me to rank these in order, but i wouldn't want to be in a relationship that lacks a single one of these things, and completely understand leaving someone over them. Cheating on your wife because she got fat or your husband for being too beta is pretty shitty though. Either leave or deal.

It's definitely difficult for any of us to quantitate the influence porn has had, but porn has really changed. How could we have possibly known this is what you're talking about? And most of us likely don't know enough about Egypt's culture to even debate it - here in this thread there are multiple people claiming that extra marital sex does happen often. For all we know, this happens in the upper classes who don't practice FGM at the same rate.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/18 07:45 PM

We're addressing the cost and harm of "domesticating our people sexually" and how such a thing is achieved. FGM is a big part of that, and so it's completely relevant to the discussion. Your OP and comments depict this as a sort of ideal, are you really surprised a bunch of western people are taking issue with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/18 07:33 PM

I mean, it's a pretty fair assumption that taking most of the joy out of sex, even making it painful, is quite helpful in curbing infidelity. Sure, I'm sure there are other factors too, but come on dude. Deeply religious people are burdened by their sexuality all the time, and still act out.

No, the study says that women who were currently living with a same sex partner reported more abuse, mostly from men. Presumably from previous relationships. Many of these women are bisexual I'm guessing, but a lot of women have had relationships with men before realizing they're lesbians, or try to deny their sexuality completely. These women are probably more vulnerable to DV than regular straight women. I don't know the DV rate for lesbians specifically, but since this study reports 11.4 perc…

Idk where you're getting your stats on the largest rate of spousal violence, but one particularly frequently cited NVAW study actually does not show that lesbians abuse their partners more, it's just misinterpreted often: The survey found that same-sex cohabitants reported significantly more intimate partner violence than did opposite-sex cohabitants. I am listening to a song by a male public figure expressing, very explicitly, his attraction to a woman as I type this. What world do you live in where male public figures aren't allowed to express desire? How this is received obviously depends on context and content but seriously, heterosexual men expressing some form of attraction to women is ubiquitous and understood to be completely normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/18 04:55 PM
8

Lol no. I mean obviously it depends on the context: when you're interviewing a woman for a job you shouldn't comment on her big titty honkers, but saying something like "damn Gal Gadot is hot" isn't and shouldn't be socially unacceptable.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/18 04:47 PM

It happens sometimes, I'm sure. And there are often different "rules" for how men and women are allowed to display their sexuality. But I see men express attraction to women every day of my life with no negative consequences... it's not really socially unacceptable to do so.

You know very, very little about women. Marriage provides no status to women. Even if it does provide some remnant/relic tradcon status, women have made clear they really don't want that status. Or at least they don't want it badly enough to secure it early. Women go through much of their young adult lives without that status, instead choosing casual relationships of varying duration and seriousness. mother nature only supplies that which is in demand. I have a kind of unique experience with this. Sometimes I use a strap on with my girlfriend, and when we first started, I had to use a hilariously small dildo, and even that was slightly painful for her at first. After a while we moved up to what I guess what would be considered a pretty average-skinny size, and now she can handle one that's bigger than your average guy. Despite this, she still always feel tight against my finger(s), which are pretty small. That said, we don't use the strap all …

Okay since everyone has already said pretty much everything I would've said, I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. Sometimes the brain can do all the foreplay for you, especially women. I don't think it's the MSM's fault per se. The only people I've ever seen call themselves incels are the people who frequent such forums. Everyone else is just a virgin. I think there's a meaningful distinction to be made between self-proclaimed incels and simply self-proclaimed virgins. "Incel" connotates some black pill philosophy, "virgin" doesn't have that same baggage. When people discuss incels, they're usually discussing a specific type of virgin and I think the distinction is useful and …

A lot less of a difference than you'd think. Consider the difference between a terrible standup comic performing the same routine as Dave Chappelle. Delivery is as important as the material itself, if not more so, and priming the audience to like you via physical attraction is a huge effect. A slender woman in a city of fat men is not dating within her league so much as she has to take what she can get. I actually disagree. She's dating within her league within that city. She theoretically could get with more attractive men in another city, so her league in another city would be different. I'm not super fond of the concept or a league really, my point from the get go is that men overestimate their attractiveness to women. The fact that so many women desire only a certain number of m…

Most men understand where they stand on the social and dating ladder. Hard disagree. Men tend to overestimate their attractiveness to women. Here's one article about the phenomenon: Men were much more attracted to their female friends than vice versa. Men were also more likely than women to think that their opposite-sex friends were attracted to them—a clearly misguided belief. In fact, men’s estimates of how attractive they were to their female friends had virtually nothing to do with how these…

There are differing degrees of stoicism. That was an off the cuff definition that includes not showing emotion, basically bottling things up. A LOT of people argue that bottling emotions is unhealthy. This is what OP is arguing can hurt men. Again, it has nothing to do with Stoicism as a philosophy and the guy I was responding to was attacking a straw man.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/18 07:41 PM

Huh? When people discuss being stoic, they usually mean not showing strong emotion or freaking out in the face of hardship, not philosophy. I'm a lesbian, and it does seem to be a thing that other lesbians are into older women. Gay men as well. I don't disagree with a lot of this, but I do think you're missing a subset of white American nerds who are shocked by hookup culture as well. If you didn't get to participate in any way in the SMP because you're too absorbed in your video games/nerd culture thing, you probably won't understand it and are less likely to engage with it in any way. Women most definitely do have a problem with the change, because RPW is populated by women asking how to make their SOs more masculine and how to find masculine men (and don't even get me started on "Where Have All the Good Men Gone" articles). Because the truth is, the strongest most independent woman still depends on men for things. So the whole "strong independent" meme is just that - a meme, a trope, and nothing more. I mean duh, we live in a specialist society. Everyone needs other people to function. When women claim to be strong and independent they're not actually claiming to be 100%, literally self-sufficient. They're not claiming to be Thoreau and living off the land. They're claiming that they're self sufficient within their…

I think what you're missing is that most women want to personally feel desired. The way you're describing men is that they want women not necessarily you in particular; any will do, all of 'em have pussy. Women compete with each other for love, not with men, so being seen as sexier than men jusr by virtue of being female doesn't do much since you're still on equal footing with your competition. That's not even counting the damage that male desire can do to women, and the fear it often causes. I …

You're joking, but that equivalence is silly. Women don't have the potential for prostate cancer, men have the potential to have anxiety disorders. The idea that doctors misdiagnose or under diagnose certain conditions due to preconceived notions about their patients isn't new.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/18 07:02 PM
5

This isnt the argument that he was making, but it's still possible for women to be disproportionately diagnosed with anxiety by their healthcare providers. Wouldn't be that surprising if doctors are more likely to diagnose women with anxiety for experiencing the same symptoms as men. They're still people with their own preconceived notions after all
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/18 06:50 PM

I only scanned the abstract, but it suggests that anxiety is more disabling for women because of worse health outcomes and frequent comorbidity with other disorders such as bulimia. It'd be interesting to see if anxiety is still more disabling in women vs men if you controlled for those other disorders, which definitely take a toll on a person.

try to convince the government to treat it less as an economic relationship - a labor contract - and more of an official declaration to society that they love and care for one another. What would this even look like? Why do you need the government to make a public declaration of love? Would you not be married anymore when you fell out of love? Why would love be in the realm of the court to begin with? You're being so vague.

Dude, your OP is literally about the economic effects of marriage, now you're putting on this weird theatrical display when people focus on the same thing? Your OP is about the legal aspect marriage, not marriage as a "public declaration of love, adoration, and affection with which two people hope to share with their family and loved ones for the rest of their lives." That's a personal and cultural aspect of marriage, and while I'd agree it's beautiful, not at all within the scope of your OP.

They don't argue that AWALT is "scientific fact". This conversation isn't exclusively about AWAIT though, just RP theories in general. I'm sure some RPers do think AWALT is scientific fact, it's a big sub, but obviously not all of them do, since they call it a heuristic.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/18 09:05 PM
6

Oh c'mon. They do all the time. They post scientific articles, love evo psych, and use wording as if their ideas are scientific facts. I'm sure if you combed through every TRP post, control + f "scientific fact" you'd get loads and loads of hits. You may not personally say this, but it definitely gets said.

All females hold female nature. So AWALT isn't a heuristic at all. It's meant to be a literal fact.

The authors proposed this: Women seem to internalize the female sexual role of submission. In the process of fitting their sexual behavior and desires into this cultural mold, women may unwittingly undermine their sexual arousal. Elucidation the ways in which the adoption of a submissive sexual role affects sexual autonomy therefore has the potential to enhance our understanding of women’s sexual dysfunction and to provide ways of improving women’s sexual satisfaction, function, and overall well…

I wonder if this has anything to do with passivity and submission kind of going together. If you're not as into sex, you're probably going to take a more passive, submissive role. Pretty interesting though, and seems to throw a bit of a wrench into popular RP ideas about women's sexual satisfaction. Still, I'm not convinced this isn't more of a correlation between submissive, feminine women not being as into sex rather than a causation of submissive sex making sex less enjoyable.

Poop isn't okay to eat because it's dangerous. That's why we're disgusted by it, our disgust is meant to protect us from eating shit that's bad for us. Like I said, different people have different dietary needs and health goals. Milk does fit into those goals for some people, but not everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/04/18 04:51 PM
2

This is why you need to pay attention to who is conducting the studies and how they're funded. But determining what's "healthy" is totally dependent on the individual, their dietary deficiencies and allergies, goals, and needs. Milk does have benefits and can fit into someone's diet. Doesn't mean everyone everywhere can or should drink it.

Heathcliff and Cathy is the best fictional example of this imo. Youre definitely right it's a trope. But I'm not sure it's all that related to the alpha widow, like RP describes. More like a love widow. Woman finds someone she actually clicks with and loves, and then is incapable of happiness when she's forced by circumstance to deny him in favor of a man she doesn't really love. I'm not sure you can extrapolate the things RP claims from that, all this trope really shows is that women are more t…

Female business attire is still form fitted and they wear heels...it’s very sexualized. Pencil skirts and the like are very sexual too. Fair enough, but it's arguably less sexual than most feminine clothing. You said yourself it's not hot. Women who dress this way usually don't want to look ugly and frumpy at work, but they don't want to look super sexy either. People still want to look good in business attire, but not necessarily directly sexual. Looking good comes with nonsexual benefits too. …

This post isn't really relevant to the topic at hand, and it doesn't provide a counterargument to my points. This isn't about how you feel about how certain women look. It's about whether feminism contributes to eating disorders. However you feel about the women who reject traditional standards of female beauty, it's happening. Maybe only to a small, certain type of woman, but I'd argue that tomboyishness at the very least isn't fringe at all. That men don't find suits on women hot is kind of my…

All social behavior has biological origins. Behavior itself is from evolution. I'm not following. I dunno if we can necessarily blame sex positivity on increased pressure to conform to beauty standards, considering how many other confounding variables there are. Women have felt this pressure for ages. They've damaged themselves in the name of beauty throughout history. You're definitely right that many eating disorders aren't necessarily connected to fat shaming and all of that, that was a clumsy statement on my part. That said I can imagine that many of them internalized the disdain people express toward fat women, and when you combine that with anxiety and OCD, an ED is how their mental illness manifests itself. I also think it's true that for most people, validation isn't as powerful as disgust, unfortunately.

On a more general note, any idea which causes a species to not breed is simply destined to be removed from the species. It's not that simple. There aren't genes for specific ideas, although your genetics may influence how you perceive the world and how susceptible you are to certain ways of thinking sure. But there's no feminism gene. Feminists are often born from anti-Feminists. Also, homosexuality. It's not an idea, but it often causes people not to breed. Yet it's still present in numerous sp…

I think this is definitely the stronger argument, but a lot of (most?) people don't learn about these ideas from their parents. In today's age, children will be exposed to a tooon of information. Your own feelings matter because empathy is a feeling itself, and feelings get in the way of other feelings. I don't think this is the sole reason women feel used, but this definitely happens. Ive noticed many women use sex as a means to keep a man attached to them, rather than having sex for mutual pleasure. Early on they'll have awesome, crazy, frequent sex. But she's not actually a high libido woman, so it's unsustainable, and the relationship ends up suffering. If a woman is having sex in order to get something else out of a person and all she gets is sex, she'll probably feel upset over it.

They might have an ONS here or there I mean, considering you've said that sleeping with multiple women = harem, then why can't you define this as a harem?? This is my whole point, that's a sloppy definition that gives guys too much leeway to be like, "yep I got a harem 😎" they sure as hell don't have three women they can call up on Friday or Saturday night and reliably wind up getting laid Shifting goal posts. This is the comment that everyone was taking issue with: If you don't consider a man s…

So I acknowledge and accept that words can have different colloquial meanings than their actual definitions. But the use of harem sooo loosely that nearly every semi attractive man can get/has had one is just ridiculous and comes across as absurdly hyperbolic, and causes silly debates like the one you're having with me and multiple people in this thread. Again: All you're doing is complaining that you don't like the term. Who cares? I mean this is a debate sub and you're responding to me. So, yo…

The idea that women don't provide anything but pussy is so foreign to me. Every girl I've been with, especially my current girl, has improved my life in some way. I haven't done my laundry in 2 years, AND my gf introduced me to this shit you put in our laundry that makes all your clothes, sheets, blankets smell amazing. She helps me organize my shit, find my keys/phone cause I lose them every day. She reminds me of doctor visits. She asks me how my day was, every single day even when I just say …

Harem, even in the colloquial way we use it today means something and conveys a specific situation. Using it the way you're proposing is just disingenuous. No one cares if each woman fully understands what's going on. No one cares if each woman is fully, religiously exclusive to the man I doubt that, because of the use of harem which again, means something. I strongly suspect they use the word harem because that's the ideal for them. Instead, they exaggerate their current situation to cultivate …

What? That's such a ridiculous, watered down definition of harem. Is there a time limit to how long in between sex with each woman for it to not be a harem anymore? Like, with this definition it sounds like most even somewhat attractive men could score a harem, if only for a short amount of time.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/18 03:00 PM

You can try to use an objective model all you want, but attraction is determined by subjective human experience. And it is not because men are just "uglier", women will always be picky no matter what, If women say a man is ugly, then he is ugly. It does not matter what percentile he is in. At all. Think of it like this. Imagine there's a disease that makes 70% of men (and only men) horrifically disfigured, and unattractive to women in every dimension. Are the bottom 70% of perfectly normal, stil…

Isn't it weird to you that men score women hotter than they are? No. And if men are rating a woman as attractive, she's attractive. If she then gets with a man who women rate as unattractive, she is dating someone below her looksmatch. Do you believe in an objective standard of beauty or something? Because if you do, were coming from completely different perspectives on this. Cause, you know, when majority of men are 2.5/10, there's an obvious problem in the rating. Nope. Where the majority of m…

Since men generally date bellow their looks match, your initial premise seem wrong to me. Just like most women you're biased to believe majority of men are ugly while majority of women are beautiful. No way do I believe this. Also, who determines how physically attractive a man is if not women? I would definitely agree with OP that a lot of issues in heterosexual relationships are at least partly due to men scoring women who are hotter than they are, who aren't as attracted to them.

I think the difference is for women who are bi/straight and want a family, a "beta man" still provides a value -- gives her the family unit and paternal figure she wants. I cannot imagine trying to raise a family with someone I wasn't attracted to, who kept trying to fuck me. A nightmare.

I definitely like to pursue more, yes, and am typically the more dominant partner in my relationships. But women have pursued me too, sometimes pretty aggressively. Also, that's probably the least clumsily that that question has been worded to me, haha

It depends on the situation. If you're having a respectful debate then yeah, it's fine of course. I'm realizing that i may have misunderstood what OP meant. I was thinking more of a rude argument, or even someone being rude about a partner who wasn't present. IIRC, that's what Jammerly was talking about originally. Jammerly1 notes that she can't count on the beta nerds she's dated to defend her in an argument. But is this an inherently bad thing... ask yourself what your reaction would be if a man was complaining about his girlfriend not defending him. Be honest... what would you say to him? If it's different than what you'd say to a woman, why is that? Hell no it isn't different. Your partner should be your ride or die who defends your name.

This is a good point. At the end of the day, male or female, most careers aren't that fulfilling. They're boring jobs that you do out of necessity. Having a career has just always been a necessity for men, not women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/18 10:23 PM
2

Okay, I have an idea of the difference between negging and flirty teasing. Jerkish negging is lame because it's not about building rapport or having fun, but is instead just using humor as a vehicle to take down someone's perceived status. It's like a bitch ass way to insult someone while trying to escape the social consequences of insulting. I guess it does all boil down to intent, and if someone intentionally negs you but you perceive it as regular joking, it'll come across well.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/18 09:48 PM
1

So what does it look like when someone teases you the wrong way? Like how does someone come across as a jerk to you vs. jokester? I'm trying to suss that part out.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/18 09:31 PM
4

To an extent, you're right. Trust and comfort allow you to go harder when you tease your friends and still have fun. But if I've just met someone and they tease me, I will probably feel closer to them (if they do it right, of course) and we'll form a closer bond, faster. I think its ability to form a bond with a stranger quickly makes teasing a useful tool for flirting. That said, not everyone has grown up with it and everyone has different limits which also makes it a dangerous tool.

playful disposition This is the key, really. It's the difference between friendly teasing that fun and sometimes flirty and some weirdo insulting you because he's got some problem with you. I grew up in a family of razzers, and my dad is the #1 ballbuster. So teasing is incredibly natural for me (though I will say it has gotten me into trouble with some more sensitive souls) and tbh, if I haven't teased or been teased by someone then I probably wouldn't consider them to be close to me. This is in the comment she's responding to: I'm sure if you put a little bit of effort, just browsing through some Instagram's, you'll stumble upon a whole group of girls that will be going out to Miami or Vegas for Spring break. And its not a small group... PCB is a classic college spring break destination, like Miami. It illustrates that men in general displayed more narcissistic traits/dysfunctions than women - not just that they are more likely to be diagnosed with the actual personality disorder. So while you're correct about the limitations of the first study, your comment in no way refutes the implications of the second.

This is BS excuse for avoiding having to back up your claims. We aren't going to just believe something because you say it's true. This is an emotionally loaded topic; /u/iamsamurai, you, and I likely are coming into this post with biased perceptions that skew how we view this issue. Which is why there's no reason to just accept what we say at face value. We're gonna say what we want to believe is true. That's why sources and studies are useful. My bad, I thought that was more of a rhetorical question. I am not claiming to have been held back, personally. I'm very happy with where I'm at in life. I never lamented being held back myself in my posts, so I'm not sure why you're trying to imply that. I'm literally just explaining to you how socialization influences people because you're seeming to dismiss the notion.

What part are you doubting though, that social pressure could possibly influence women to be less risk averse or that it actually does? No one is arguing that teachers outright tell women they can't amount to much. Social influence can be subtle but still pervasive. Even something like positive reinforcement, like praising a girl more warmly than a boy after she cooks a basic meal or whatever could conceivably influence her to value that domestic task more than she otherwise would if that same s…

Social pressure and social norms greatly influence the behaviors and thoughts of individuals. It's why some societies were just fine with brutal public executions while some do not permit executions of any kind. It's why hundreds of people killed themselves at Jonestown, and the rest of the world was like, what the fuck. Its part of the reason why there's so much cross-cultural variance in our societies. Point is, our society/social environment influences us massively, and dismissing a discussio…

I'd also argue that pegging can be physically pleasurable. You can insert a vibrator into your strap on, or get one that penetrates you as well. I'm not sure how common that is though, and would guess that women who enjoy pegging enjoy it for their partner's benefit or the power dynamics aspect.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/17 12:18 AM

What do women get out of blowjobs? Presumably the same thing, right? It may not physically feel good but plenty of women love doing it.

This still doesn't make sense with what you said. If the most clear headed person is making the decisions, no one is wearing the pants. I'm not making the case that women can be captains, I'm saying that if the basis for decision making in your relationship is who has the clearer head/best reasoning, you are not in a captain/first mate relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/17 04:49 AM
2

Then the person who's the most clearheaded has to make a judgment call and count on their first mate to trust their decision. But from my understanding, the "captain" isn't the most clearheaded person, it's just the male, and this does not change with circumstance. The "person who is most clearheaded" making the decisions just sounds like an equal relationship, not captain/first mate.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/17 02:37 AM
2

That's really fair assessment.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/17 02:40 PM
5

But it makes sense. If a guy points to a single woman who confirms his beliefs about women, and then someone else points to a woman who doesn't, it demonstrates how worthless single anecdotes are. Then, hopefully, you can move on with your discussion using better evidence to support your claims. Yes, sometimes you have to stoop to someone's low level to show them why their arguments are poor because it's much harder to self-evaluate your own arguments then someone else's.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/17 03:09 PM

But they often don't, obviously. And then they deal with the consequences of that choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/17 12:53 AM

Bullshit. Being a single parent is difficult for most people. Make all the moral judgments about them you want, but let's be honest here. Poverty rates are high as hell for single parents. Nevermind the time/financial/opportunity cost of raising a child on your own.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/17 12:50 AM

Conversely, you should stop jumping to conclusions and maybe work on some reading comprehension. Come to think of it though, considering part of the "negative externalities" speltspelt was referring to would be STDs, then yeah I suppose I do partially "blame" men for the spread of STDs. But I didn't mention that in my original comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/17 12:42 AM

Where did I blame men? I'm simply stating that claiming that women don't by and large suffer consequences of unwanted pregnancy is a silly claim.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/17 01:07 PM

Regardless, it's ridiculous to say that women don't suffer the consequences of unwanted pregnancy. Raising an unwanted child is a pretty huge consequence that shouldn't be overlooked, even with child support and welfare.

The baby does not have a "right" to someone else's money, not the father or the tax payer. Rights are to be free from things not happening to you, not entitlements to others working for you. IE Free speech is the right to not have the government come after you, its not the same as a right to people listening. I mean, is this true though? If a child is abandoned, do we just leave it there? Or does the state step in? Clearly kids have some sort of right to guardianship, yeah? When the parents fail…

Uh, yeah, people care about certain things to varying degrees, and some people choose to invest more time and energy into fighting for or against ideas. Sometimes people choose to spend their time on silly shit and go overboard. But if you read any thread on here, you can see the very real differences between RP and BP. We have substantially different views between and among ourselves, and we hash them out. So, like I said, it's more than just "tribe hate of the other tribe."

Dude, acting like TRPers and BPers don't like each other simply due to arbitrary in group biases is absurd. There are clear ideological differences between the two that are totally incompatible over a controversial, emotional, and often highly personal subject. Our philosophical differences are pretty real. I'll grant that some people on here treat it like a sports team, though.

I am somewhat introverted, enough so that I don't really like random people on the street talking to me for almost any reason. And definitely not random sexual comments. This is true, I've had to read numerous papers about ovulating women being more attractive to men (and strippers earning more in tips when they're ovulating!) However, this still follows my point. Men don't smell the fertility itself, they're subconsciously smelling/picking up on these chemical signals that signify that a woman can make babies. And ovulation is clearly not the primary driving factor of men's attraction to women. A hot blonde on birth control is still going to drive you more wild…

Btw, fertile is a very precise term to use when describing what makes a woman attractive. I think this is only half right. Men are typically attracted to signifiers of fertility, not necessarily fertility itself. If a sterile woman has these fertility signifiers, she's just as hot. Plus, most men don't seem to consciously be after fertility. So when you don't make that distinction, it kind of seems like you're fetishizing fertility itself, which comes across as creepy. That's one reason, I think…

To be fair, the "confidence" I was referring to is in actuality a blatant false confidence. The kind of confidence that actually shows you that the person you're talking to is really insecure. But yeah, in general, if someone views your confidence as underserved it probably won't go over well. Still, I would consider at least a moderate level of confidence to be crucial in your dating success.

Women, no matter how old, were young women once. Often they were subjected to the advances of sometimes much older men and made to feel uncomfortable or were even (in their opinion) "taken advantage of". Women have younger sisters, daughters, nieces, etc. The anger they express is often at the thought of their loved ones being put in that position or subjected to the same treatment by (what they feel are) "predatory" old men. This just isn't true for everyone. I'm a lesbian, admittedly with pretty conventional tastes, and some of the women my other lesbian friends have gushed over are downright ugly to me. They're more masculine with an awkward (to me) mix of femininity, and are usually bigger. It's way, way too simplistic to say everyone's most attracted to signifiers of fertility in women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/16 05:13 PM

If that's the case, they're doing a god awful job because I believe women have slightly higher rates of mental illness than men. Doesn't seem to make sense if we're making shit up to pathologize male and normalize female psychology.

I feel like this is more analogous to a cheating partner, because in both situations the person disregarded their partner's boundaries and desires within a relationship. I wouldn't date someone who cheated or abused previous partners, but high n count is acceptable to me. As with all things, context and nuance matter.

You know what happened after my drunken ONSs in college? Id wake up, laugh about the situation and be mildly pleased I had fun sex the night before. The only consequence I suffered was an awkward encounter later on. This experience seems to be the norm for the people I know. ONSs are calculated risks that people take to enjoy themselves. They can be mistakes, but not always. So long as you take precautions, why are they mistakes? I seriously want to know, "it's self-evident" is kinda a cop out.

You can definitely become addicted to porn and jacking off. I remember reading a post recently about a girl whose boss was looking at porn every time she saw his screen. You don't think recidivism should be considered at all when sentencing? FWIW, I personally think it's unfair, but it does make sense. Men, having fewer options to get off the street, are more likely to stay locked in a life of crime just to eat. I'll definitely agree this is a problem that many men face, but do you think this is the sole reason for high recidivism rates? Women on the streets are having a hard time and need help. Work on socializing as much as possible. I went to school with a guy who used to have few to no friends, would cry and cause scenes in class, and was generally bad at being social. Years later in high school, he was completely different. He was hilarious, and not in a haha, he's autistic way, but in a genuine, this guy is great way. He had friends, even dated, and yeah he was still a little weird, but people liked him. I once asked him about it and he told me he read a lot of books and practiced…

Admittedly I didn't read the whole thread, but it doesn't seem that most of the people actually disagreed that consent couldn't be bought. Just that buying consent is sleazy. They didn't say that all men who have sex with prostitutes are rapists, which is the logical conclusion to "you can't buy consent" but instead claim that these men are just one step above. And I think they sometimes gave fairly decent reasons; when you hire an escort, you are running the risk of supporting human trafficking…

I don't disagree with any of those things, but dinner is feasible for everyone anywhere at anytime (unless you're broke). But my point stands. If you can't bond with your date over a simple meal, why are you dating? Are you just never going to eat dinner with your SO? Yes doing fun things together is absolutely recommended, but not every single time. Sometimes you need to find out if you're compatible doing regular ass shit, because having fun doing fun stuff is a given. Again, if you can't enjo…

This is usually pretty easily snubbed by suggesting they come do something actually fun instead of some boring date crap (like a dinner). If dinner is boring, you've picked the wrong person. I agree it's great to do adventurous things too, but if you can't make interesting conversation over some nice food, your dull ass is getting nexted.

No, it isn't. Healthcare is a service that most people have access to, that women happen to use more frequently for the reasons I listed above. If men and women went to the doctor at the same rate, also experienced pregnancy at the same rate, and we still spent more on women, that would be indicative of our healthcare system/professionals favoring women. What the person you were talking to is talking about is a completely separate issue where researchers are actually choosing to use more males f…

Yeah I added that just accidentally hit submit too early. It should be pretty obvious why we spend more on women. Painting it like it's due to special treatment is completely ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/16 04:05 PM
6

And yet the majority of healthcare costs are spent on women. Funny how that works. That's not really relevant to her point. These healthcare expenses are due to women living longer (huge portion of healthcare costs is spent on seniors), them being more likely to visit the doctor when ill, and a big one is obviously pregnancy and all things related to it.

Obviously women do have agency and she shouldn't have done that, but it seems unlikely that this girl fully understood the full effects and the purpose of him giving her the drugs. But it doesn't make him any less culpable. It doesn't matter what poor choices she made to put her in that situation, he should not have raped her.

Almost. Was at a girl's place for an ONS and the more she talked, the more I started to realize she was pretty crazy, telling me about how she attacked her boyfriend with a frying pan and such. Her roommate saved the day by noticing this and feeding me more drinks which helped me overlook all that. Even for just an ONS, someone's personality can ruin things.

Since you reference Game of Thrones it's the first thing that came to mind and (spoiler alert) I thought of a certain wedding scene where Cat offers her life for her son's. That scene is one of many of media portrayals of mothers that shows that motherhood is something that transcends one's survival instinct. Being a mother is often treated as the most fulfilling aspect of a woman's life. Most women who are past a certain age in movies, TV shows, commercials, etc. are mothers by default.

No. He shouldn't lead someone on by making false promises, but I think it's fine to just have casual sex without explicitly stating that it's casual. Women shouldn't automatically assume that sex = obligated to commit. I mean if a woman confesses her love for a man and he proceeds to sleep with her with no intention of forming a relationship, that's pretty shitty, so there's definitely a grey area. But in a casual bar setting? No need to discuss future intentions (or lack thereof) if you don't w…

Who cares? What does it matter who's "responsible" in some abstract sense? You either get raped or you don't. Don't want to get raped, take steps to protect yourself. That can take whatever form you like. I mean, this alone I can't argue with. I mostly just object to the idea of calling a victim of rape an idiot simply for not making the assumption that any man might rape you, or being hyper-aware at all times of the dangers that any man may pose.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/16 06:44 PM
7

Yeah, I don't think it's unreasonable for a woman to assume any man could rape her. Well, to be more clear, you evidently think that she's an idiot if she doesn't. How far does this go? I hang out with male friends alone all the time, sometimes when drunk, sometimes when high, sometimes when both. None of them have indicated any interest in sleeping with me, all are aware that I have absolutely no interest in them. Am I being stupid for trusting my friends? Am I responsible if I get raped?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/16 06:26 PM

This was about a hypothetical situation, not something you specifically said. Although I do believe there have been times where it seemed that you were claiming that women shouldn't ever be alone with a man regardless of context. I'm glad this isn't the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/16 06:15 PM

So, you think women should treat all men as loaded guns, and assume that they could rape her... you're supporting OP's view then.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/16 06:10 PM

She's guilty of being an idiot, But she's "guilty of being an idiot" because she was hanging around men, and not assuming that they will rape her. In the threads OP is referring to, people were saying she shouldn't have been hanging around men alone. You see the implications about men here? When you say that women are being idiots when they are alone with men they don't want to have sex with, it absolutely makes a case for assuming all men are rapists.

Not necessarily, depending on the context. I think that many men and women could benefit romantically from a change in personality. From the article: Glucose levels, which may drop in women who don’t get enough to eat, could have something to do with it, says Elissa Cameron, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Tasmania. I imagine men and women use tinder for different reasons. Men are probably more likely to be there for sex, so they only care about looks and may not care that much, so they'll swipe right with abandon. Women are probably more likely to be there for a relationship, so they're going to be a bit choosier for that reason alone. Tinder is definitely not just a sex app anymore. But that study gives absolutely no information about the significance and degree of men's preferences. It literally only gives categorical data, you can't make the assumption that there's no significant differences in preferences. The only information the study really provides is that men in the study prefer sex with a stranger to no sex. "Plenty of girls" isn't really a sample size that's particularly convincing. And I'm having a hard time believing that most girls who, at 21 are over the whole party scene typically go out more. Usually, people at this age change for the more tame. There's exceptions for sure, I won't deny that. But early twenties are usually prime going out/partying age... once you start getting older, getting jobs, getting real responsibilities, bars and clubs lose their appeal more than gain appeal. Girls who…

Girls who aren't "into the whole partying thing" at 21 don't typically start getting into it as they get older... not sure if that's something OP should really spend time worrying about.

You completely missed my point and went on yet another needlessly long, incoherent rant. I brought up the abuse to compare your flawed thinking to the flawed thinking of a hypothetical domestic abuse victim. You evidently didn't catch this, and went on some irrelevant tirade about... whatever the fuck you're talking about.

And guess what? Guys have this experience all over the place. Why do you think so many guys are mgtow now? And women have experienced domestic violence all over the place, I'm sure at a higher rate than men going teir own way. I'm sure there are women who have practically only experienced abusive relationships because they have traits which attract abusive partners. Would it be fair for these women to say that a lack of abuse is "incredibly rare from any man?" No, it wouldn't. Because their expe…

No, they're saying both are meaningless. They're just turning the "there is no such thing as a female incel" argument around. Anyone can get sex if they really want to, just not the sex they actually want (barring certain disabled people, I suppose). Incel as it's usually used is a misnomer.

Thank you for actually addressing his arguments. Vaccines I don't think are the best comparison, because an unvaccinated person can harm more than himself, which abacuz didn't factor in. I still like his original idea though. IMO, a better comparison would be something like breast cancer screenings. Would mandatory breast cancer screenings benefit women? Yeah. I go out and pick clothing that makes me look good even when I know I'm not going to encounter anyone I have any desire to attract, and even when I'm happily in a monogamous relationship. I wear cute bras and panties even when I have 0 expectation of anyone but me seeing them. Looking good truly does just make you feel good. Is looking good for a certain person/people a goal that many women have when they dress up? Sure. But it truly isn't the only reason they do it.

That does not mean it's normative behavior. It's really no secret that heterosexual men tend to have an aversion to anything that can be perceived as homosexual, I'd say pegging fits the bill. I'm so sick of that myth. Women are typically worse off after a divorce, not men. Interesting. Honestly, this is just a talking point I see pretty often from TRP/MRAs and I decided to accept it on its face and grant them that one. It also made sense that, if divorce is more financially beneficial for women, they would initiate it more often, which is true. Also, men may not have control of abortions but they can still use condoms, get a vasectomy, or abstain from sex with a fertile woman. Women …

Rapists, murderers and other scum is deeply hated and their social status is negative infinity. To become one you have to hate yourself so much you no longer care. This is not necessarily true. All it takes is a lack of empathy for other people and perhaps a general detached feeling of other people, or "limited pro-social abilities." This does not equate to self-hate. I think "ego" is a less apt word to describe it, more like narcissism, sociopathy.

Fixing a body would be much preferred to fixing a brain from a medical standpoint. We know how to fix their bodies... their brains? Not so much. This is unlikely to be solved by therapy, or as ozymandias271 noted, may only be a partial fix. In the case of homosexual, asexual, transexual, etc., the answer is obvious since there would be no future generation. What... You do realize that gay couples can and do still have children? One reason is definitely that you often get treated much, much better when you look good. People listen to you more. Not the person you're talking to but I imagine they'd say something similar. But from my understanding, these types of surgeries are only given the OK after rigorous psych evaluations. And surgery is only an option after other methods of treatment to relieve the dysphoria have been ineffective. This is because, as you mention, there's no going back, so they attempt to make as sure as possible that this treatment truly will benefit the patient. I'm sure tons and tons of men have these same exact insecurities of not being as good as the men before. Why isn't this evidence that men employ a similar ranking system? Maybe it's not that deep. Maybe, when their partner is asked, "what's the best sex you've ever had?" both men and women just want their partners to honestly answer that it was with them. Maybe you're just making shit up.

You're painting it in a different way, but you're saying the same thing. You want a low n count girl because you want to be the best boyfriend she's had. How could this imply anything but that you're afraid that the competition would be better? It's insecurity, and that's okay. Most people have had these insecurities I'd imagine, especially when young and inexperienced. I think there's a better way of handling it than writing off average to high n count women as valueless sluts though.

My point is that you guys are likely operating under differing definitions of the MRM. This changes the argument. This is one of the common tactics feminists use. It's also a common tactic used against feminism! Go figure.

That is not a criticism, that is drive by hate and dehumanisation of any man who wants men to have equal rights. Not really if you believe that plenty of men who want men to have equal rights exist outside of the MRM. When this poster refers to the MRM, he likely is referring to a narrow subset of people that doesn't actually encompass everyone associated with men's rights. I could be wrong about what the guy meant, but from what I've seen when people talk about the MRM they're usually referring…

To be fair, a criticism of the MRM is not the same as not supporting men's rights. You can dislike a movement without disliking the general ideology it claims to uphold.

I don't know if it's worth responding to a 4 day old comment but I will. I don't actually think it works like an on off switch, where it's all or nothing. For me it doesn't, anyway. It's more like how when you go grocery shopping and you're fucking starving, everything looks amazing and you'll overspend. But when you go after you've eaten, things aren't as appetizing. When I'm in happy relationships I really don't notice the attractiveness of other women as much because I'm in that "fed" state. …

Uh, you expect attraction to be rational? What is "rational attraction" to you? It is the apotheosis of self-delusion. I feel like you're reading way too into this dude. Or you're just looking for ways to paint women as delusional. Attraction is a feeling that is influenced by other feelings. Doesn't mean this is self-delusion. To me, being the same amount of attracted to someone no matter what this person does or says is "completely ridiculous."
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/16 02:53 AM

No, this totally happens. Maybe not always to the point where the men become "so attractive that no other man would do," but definitely to the point where you really don't have much of an interest in others.

Girls that don't get anally fucked by Chad don't exist?

Very few women go 'head over heels' for men they date and go out of their way for men they are seeing. Hasn't been my experience. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I doubt it. Truthfully though, I do agree with your sentiment to an extent. If a girl isn't willing to go out of her way to make time for you, she probably isn't into you. But you don't have to be Ryan Gosling for women to make an effort for you, that's crazy.

Marriage is a contract that people enter into for a variety of reasons. Reducing it to "a contract trading providership for paternity" is funny, especially when paternity is not even common to all marriages. If you're going to construct a definition of marriage like that and just expect people to accept it without explaining yourself, expect some incredulous responses like "lmao."

I suppose it doesn't, really, except that I tend to be more BP than RP and am often very much at odds with RP. I've also seen people criticize this view as, like I mentioned, seeing these women as obligated to perform a sexual act simply because she's done it in the past, which I don't think this is really about. To elaborate even more, I do of agree with RP that women are more willing to perform sexual acts that they are even slightly uncomfortable with the more attractive they are to their par…

Hmm, maybe not really what you're looking for, but the first thing that jumped out at me would be having a serious problem if my partner was unwilling to do some sort of sexual act for me that they did with another partner. You're assuming that all/most women feel that they are desired. This is totally false. I would want to be a girl just to feel desired, to feel some inherent worth in being myself, rather than worth in what I could give to others, like money, my job, or whatever fancy car or house I had. Except, just a man may feel that his only worth is his earning potential, a woman may feel her only worth is her looks/ability to sexually satisfy. Probably not that much better.

Well, see, I don't buy that women only want to fuck guys more attractive than them and are just willing to fuck guys at or a little below their attractiveness either. I think that in many instances, they really would want to fuck these men. Sure, maybe men are more willing to have sex with women below them in attractiveness. Lifting, dressing well, being more social, cultivating interests and passions, ditching weed and video games are all things I've seen suggested there, and that's all fantastic advice. The evidence you provided for that claim was terrible. I'll explain: So some people in TRP/MRP are unhappy in their marriages. Maybe it's because they were female-led. Subconsciously, women are seen as complete and whole - the mother ship that accepts the relatively small penis into her body and then her entire body creates a human. Many men would like to take some of this power away - and debase the woman and the sex act via pornography. The more the man is in control, the more exciting it is to him.
