Keep in mind thought a "human right", is generally a term used by the UN to describe unconditional resources people should have access to, and usually in regards to third world countries. No, it applies to much more than just that. The very first article on the universal declaration of human rights, and arguably the most important, is as follows: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spi…

For an esteemed respect, it is not possible give everyone special treatment and to hold them in a relative high regard to others. I will disregard this definition for respect because it would be a paradox. Moving on, the most applicable definition of respect would therefore be: a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important, serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way While it might sound awkward to word that respect is a basic human right, isn't the concept of …

I can only speak from personal experience, but I was really interested in debating here when I first heard about this community. I enjoy debate and I enjoy talking to people with very different beliefs to my own. Or at least I usually do. I lost interest very quickly. I responded to a claim someone made, and I cited a few academic journals and studies that found the opposite to be true. Instead of talking about any points that I made directly, talking about the credibility of a source or the stu…

They're real. Uncommon, but definitely real. It's not surprising that men don't see them much, since men will not tend to be on the receiving end of any distinguishable behaviors. Other guys would probably see a dude with a tendency to be a bit self-serving than other people, or just a straight up narcissist. The Nice Guy is just one face of a narcissist that tells others, and himself, that he's really nice.

Yeah. Honestly it seems like everyone just plays a game of who can care less, and hooking up before dating or being in a relationship seems to be part of playing that game. All of my former FWB asked me to be their girlfriend at one point. Before I hooked up with any of them, they confirmed that they had zero interest in dating me. I was so dumbfounded, but asking around it's not that uncommon.

False; I agree.

Especially since the most attractive women get 25x the messages of the most unattractive women. Compare that to the 11x the most attractive men get. There is also that huge dip in reply % for the most attractive guys from the most unattractive women.

The action is stopped when it becomes clear that the circumstances have changed. No one in their right mind argues that that would be rape. Compare this to the guy who stops when his girlfriend changes her mind and says "Stop!" for some reason or another. Maybe she got a bit dry and intercourse is starts to get painful. No one calls him a rapist.

We can therefore conclude that oral sex is rape since the person doing oral sex cannot consent (since their mouth is busy). That's more of a premise, and it's not a very good one. It's like getting consent before being sexually involved with someone is totally impossible! Or as if there is no difference between a willing active participant and someone being acted upon!

Okay then, so explain exactly how dating one tall guy ever is anti-feminist and where the contradiction is. Can you?

No, affirmative action in concept is two things: a) originally to prohibit race and later sex to be a significant factor in the hiring process and then b) to make up for the once institutionalized racism that specifically enabled white people to progress forward and held blacks behind. At least check the facts before swaying completely off topic.

And I've met far more of the other kind. Your point contributes nothing to the actual discussion.

Hence the distinction between the two theoretical woman. Your point just emphasizes mine, albeit in a roundabout way.

Conforming implies that it was done because of a rule or norm, or at least that it had a significant impact in her decision to date someone. It completely disregards a situation where a woman likes a man who happens to be tall and this is especially true if she does not exclusively date tall men. However, suddenly she is anti-feminist because one of her boyfriends was 6'1''? Should she also avoid dating white people so that she isn't racist?

So dating a tall guy ever is anti-feminist?

I'm sure that some do, but I do not think that it is the general case. I think that it is more likely that rejection stings for a lot of people and if you were really hoping for a yes that rejection may have a particularly strong sting to it. This happened to me. I thought that I was fairly polite. I told him that I was sorry but no, I was not interested. Some time much later he accused me of lying to him, of being particularly mean to him for no reason, and of stringing him along because I just…

I suppose those types of lists technically are sexist but only because some of them perpetuate some stereotypes, in the sense of "all men like this" or "all women should be like that". The more generic ones, like "clean yourself" are simply common sense. Some of the lists are also just dumb; I sincerely doubt that there is a general consensus from the male gender about my over-sized sunglasses. I also don't think that guys will find me less attractive because I don't straighten my hair. Or is it…

Not wanting to be in a relationship with someone is not an attack on that someone's character. That's just absurd. I suppose I am shaming lesbians by not wanting to date any of them? Several of the responses were more along the lines of how they wouldn't be comfortable in a relationship with someone who had such a vast difference in sexual partners because their views on sex would be too different or incompatible. Others said they would be too insecure thinking about her other partners and how t…

A lot of feminists will say factoring in his fiance's partner count into deciding whether or not to marry her is 'slut shaming'. You say "a lot" but the vast majority of people replying to the original topic did not take the stance that you are arguing against.

People who have awkward and disjointed arguments do not realize, or are willing to admit that they have awkward and disjointed arguments. I'm not going to concede to a poorly formed argument that cannot demonstrate anything and consists of nothing more than blanket statements. It would be ludicrous to expect otherwise because no arguments on your side have actually been supported because you refuse to do so. If you can't do the bare minimum of supporting your argument, then how can it be even co…

It wasn't an ad hominem, it was a serious question. Get over yourself. Then why was it the preceding statement and why did you address that in lieu of addressing any point in my argument? It's a horribly transparent attempt to derail the argument and try to discredit what I was saying without actually addressing anything that I said. That is the definition of ad hominem. You're not fooling anyone but yourself. Because your argument is awkward and disjointed. If this were true, my argument would …

I mean this with absolutely no offence, but are you autistic..? Whether I am autistic or not (I don't happen to be) is completely irrelevant to this discussion. Also, autistic is not the same thing as retarded, which may have been what you were going for. What is relevant, however, is how you fail to address a single point that I have made but rather talk about me instead of focusing on what I have actually said. Because insinuating that because me and you are not actually married, Because the s…

If I buy a $1 cookie with you, and we both pay 50c, and split it in half, and I say something that displeases you, you have no right to take my half of the cookie back... This is extremely simple logistics/ethics... I am also not married to you. Your reasoning is irrelevant because it ignores that marriage is significant legally when it comes to ownership, which is common knowledge. I can't bully Bill Gates anymore than I could bully Megan Fox. There's your citation. False. A citation is a quota…

She can only throw you out if it's her house...no one is throwing me out of my own house...lol If you are married it's her house, too. No. You can't abuse someone unless you have the value to abuse them. Citation needed. Women stay with abusive men because they trigger primal alpha male switches and though he hurts her, he's still a valuable man, or at least, more valuable than other men and not easily replaceable. A simple Google search of "why do women stay in abusive relationships" will yield…
