Lol trust me, I will never let myself be worked over by someone like that again. He was so good at playing the earnest, sensitive soul that it took me way too long to catch on to what a manipulative jerk he was. As for the innocence thing, that’s actually not what I was trying to prove, though I see why you read it that way. I was pointing out to him that his own purported desires made no sense, and that even by his own supposed standards he was being hypocritical. But yes, he was the king of st…

Dated this guy for all of a week. He spent three months pretending to be my friend - as in had “hey we are just friends right?” talk - the day before begging me to make out with him (at one point on his knees) for four hours while I was very drunk. Gah I hate my former pickme self sometimes. I caved, but told him I wasn’t comfortable making out sans relationship. So we “started” one. Except he wanted to keep it secret. At one point I offered to bring him lunch at work but he didn’t want other pe…

Holy hell. I looked her up on that website, and like a year later she had a stomach parasite - the type that could be transmitted via rimming - and her husband refused to go get tested for it!! She is married to an absolute slug who clearly wants her to be gross and miserable. Her most recent post was four years ago, I hope she’s doing ok.

Guys, I am 99% sure this person is calling out Reddit for saying we are the same as MRA forums. The “y’all” isn’t addressing the audience, it’s calling Reddit the “y’all” and saying Reddit reads these two wildly different things and calls them the same.

This is true, but I think the point being made here is a lot of women are being convinced that this isn’t true if you’re in cultures you deem “other” than your own. This woman would know to not do this among western men, but she was convinced that having that same level of skepticism in a foreign-to-her culture would be imposing her western mental framework, and was thus wrong to do - so she let her guard down. If we know not to do things that are unsafe around men, but become convinced that vie…

My ex used a nice comforter my parents bought me as a paint tarp while he was redoing our ceilings. Instead of an actual tarp.

There was a post about the friend zone on Tiktok, and I commented something like “you can always tell when men don’t actually like women as people when being friends with them is seen as something horrible.” Some guy responded with a totally unhinged “why the fuck would I want to sit around being friends with women? We don’t want to sit around listening to your boring drivel with nothing in return!” Dude nearly immediately deleted it but it was the most hilarious backup of what I had just said.

It has always been shocking to me how the only person not breeding tigers, the only one not killing them, and the one doing actual preservations work was seen as the ultimate villain in a show with 1. a man who: bred tigers, coerced men into sex via drugs, ultimately leading to one of their deaths, harassed and stalked Carol for a long amount of time, and tried to murder her and 2. A man who literally was running a sex cult where he starved and abused women, and bred tigers before then killing t…

Religious woman here. Unfortunately the church has waaay too much compassion a lot of times for these men, and little for the women. I’m divorced, my ex wasn’t much of a porn watcher but he was abusive. I definitely heard a fair amount of advice to try to be more loving, more compassionate, that maybe being the most morally upright person would make him see his wrongs. Of course that wasn’t the case, people’s actions are their own. A lot of Christian women are definitely encouraged to not only g…

Regarding the bottle, it had been left there by the guys who lived in the house before, so given it wasn't anything anyone in the house had bought, my friend had no qualms about throwing it away. And yes, I think they associate femininity with weakness, and also view it as silly, frivolous, and even shallow.

Most men will enjoy most sex. Women, most often, feel sexual compatibility when they feel comfortable, trusting, and knowledge of the partner. Testing for “sexual compatibility” is just a way for men to get sex quickly, while putting pressure on a woman to act like a porn star/“be up for anything” to prove she’s sexually exciting enough (aka acts like a porn star) for him. If discerning sexual compatibility were truly important to the guys who insist on it, the focus would be on waiting and ensu…

A friend of mine and I are both very unapologetically girly. We both, but she in particular, have had this exact type of girl treat us like absolute dogshit. Just be openly rude and condescending constantly. I think these type of women truly have a lot of underlying hatred for women who aren’t playing the “one of the guys” game, and women in general. For example. There was a time when one of them insisted her friend (btw another tomboy, but not the type who was that way to impress men or reject …

While generally helpful, this didn’t prove true for me. One time, a couple months into marriage, while driving home from a differing city, my nvex, who insisted on not using GPS (because he would get ragingly mad at the Google voice) suddenly wasn’t sure if he should take the next exit or not. He started saying “crap I don’t know if this is the right one or not!” And I said “do you want me to bring up the gps?” And he said “I don’t know!!” Given he tended to go into a fury over the gps, I didn’t…

I’m so glad. She sounded like such a sweet woman by all her comments, but lacking in self esteem. I hope being away from him allows her to build that. I cannot imagine being with a guy who knowingly used her for two years was a walk in the park, and I cannot imagine he built her up at all. On to bigger and better, sweet OP.

Case in point: had a friend (super sweet girl, but definitely raised to have strong pickme tendencies) recently hook up with some nasty dude well known to be a nasty af hoe. They went condomless (with the “I always use a condom, it’s just with you I haven’t!!”) excuse). Well surprise surprise, dude gave her a luckily curable STD. He claimed he’d only slept with one girl since his last STD check, and that they did it with a condom. I think my friend totally believed him. First off ladies: if a ho…

Yes, and one detail I like in the music video is when her verse ends and he goes back into his self pity refrain, she starts on her “aaahs.” In the video she’s basically yelling them in his face. It feels like she starts her verse calmly, but is getting more angry in recollecting as it goes on, until she is just unleashing total frustration with him and his version of events by the end.

I recently texted my husband to ask him to pick up a very specific, unusual liquor for a party we were going to. He immediately sent back a photo of him with it in his hands at the checkout counter.

My grandfather helped develop radar, and started the electrical engineering program at a well known university. Dude was a completely abusive POS to my grandma and his kids, and also cheated on her with a longterm mistress. He loved to slap around and mentally terrorize my mom, and to a much lesser extent, his other kids as well. Not saying a more academic guy is necessarily going to be bad. Just that extreme intelligence certainly does not indicate that someone is a good partner. Vet as hard, i…

If you look at her recent videos she honestly seems to be living her best life now. He had to create his own tiktok, which is a flop because he has the charisma of a potato. And then of course you get some whiny men and pickmes in her comments screaming "they built this channel togetherrrr, it's not fair she's the one who gets to keep it!!!" There are also, on every video, several weirdos commenting "Wow, you're recently divorced, it's totally inappropriate that you're partying and acting this h…

You just know the creeps that always say this would totally consider this horror part of "easy mode" - like some sort of "see, women even get free sexual activity when they're asleep, sluts!" After all, these are the same dudes that think putting in a tampon and giving birth are akin to masturbating.

I found her update post. Her parents died when she was a child, she was raised by her grandparents who are also dead. I saw in a comment that she met her ex husband SEVEN YEARS prior to the first post when she was working a minimum wage job, and moved her out to a rural town that had no jobs. So the dude met a teenager and groomed her into a situation where he thought she would be isolated, unable to work, and fully dependent on him no matter how he treated her. After that first post she went to…

Exactly. Seeing how much this upset her gives him power. In another tiktok of the same incident she made, she goes on to list all the things she did for him, which include giving him a home, getting him a job, cooking, cleaning, etc., literally picking him up from being nowhere in life. This woman saved his life. If he doesn't care enough not to cheat, he sure doesn't care that she is upset he cheated. She would have been better off telling him "Hey I don't find you attractive anymore, I want to…

Same. :( One woman even said she’s going to refuse to listen to this episode. I think if they would be more open they’d find they have more in common with me than a lot of more liberal people in their lives. It’s just demoralizing, we all have the same goals, why not work together to achieve them?

Some crusty 50 year old man was bragging on tiktok that he was dating a 25 year old because "she's not jaded yet!" I told him that sounded like code for "easy to manipulate into taking your BS" and we got into it. At one point I said "You know, if this works out, when she's merely 55, she'll be having to wipe your butt and be your nurse. Then you'll die, and she'll want to remarry because she's fairly young, only to be rejected by men like you, who will mock her for being old and jaded. You're r…

Oh man. I think I may fit exactly into what you all are looking for, but I don't think I could handle the harassment, both from the freaks who lurk, and I suspect, the members on here (I really think whoever you get is going to get flamed by a lot of FDS members for having conservative views - as you can see even in the comments just on this post). Have you considered keeping whoever you bring on anonymous?

After listening to this video like 20 times in horror, I actually think the dude that said this maaaay have been trying to point out how awful what the guy before him said, but instead of realizing that, the rest of them were like "hyuk hyuk yeah!" and then this dude cowardly backed down. Possibly giving too much credit though.

I kinda had the opposite - I had a ton of spotting and bleeding for my first couple months on it, which has finally tapered off mostly now. But I definitely think it could be related and I would get it checked out. It could be that its placement moved some and is irritating your uterus more than it was. Or possibly a little bacteria got in there and it's causing some mild vaginitis, which can also cause some bleeding. Or, like me, it's possible you've developed some endometriosis, which is not a…

I got a copper IUD a few months ago. I once had a reconstructive jaw surgery where my entire jaw was sawed apart, rearranged, and put back together with titanium holding things in place. The swelling lasted a year from it. Getting the IUD inserted was at least comparable, and I think actually worse, pain. And now I have endometriosis which was spurred by said IUD, so I have to get it removed and a hormonal one put in. Don't you let anyone, anyone tell you you're a wimp for what you do or don't w…

Honestly, the "men mature slower" thing seems like a social excuse. In my experience, men either mature at a fairly comparable rate, or they don't mature at all. The boys who become mature, stable and good men don't take all that much time to do it, usually, and the boys who are immature nightmares just become nightmarish manchildren, regardless of how old they get.

What's sad is she got decent advice on all these posts. Men and women alike were telling her to move on - a couple guys even said "as someone who has pulled this on women in the past, this is what he's doing and you should leave." She asked for advice over and over, stubbornly ignored all of it for this slog of a relationship, and now is surprised Pikachu facing.

Do you think it would be inappropriate to basically say you’d like to stay in touch and be her friend now? Maybe having you in her life in a more personal capacity could be good for her? Letting her feel that someone else is there for?

Holy crap OP. Did a little stalking, and the woman who came down on you the hardest - the one who basically said you’re a sex negative stereotype, and smarmily said she pitied you? Look at what she posted not even 24 hours later. The cognitive dissonance I included her response to you at the end. This is why we don’t cow to the PickMes. This is why their disdain and their insults and even their blocking can almost be taken as a compliment. Look at what their faux “sex positivity” gets them: men …

The Greek word used to forbid sexual immortality is literally "pornea." Hmmmmmmm. Edit: Ruh roh: As a frothingly furious little man just popped into my DMs to say, the word is "porneia," because this definitely changes the point I was making. While I'm here: "Sebastian," Your comments get auto-removed from FDS. So you are just screaming into the void. In Genesis, during the fall passage, Adam and Eve are given the curse that women will desire their husbands, and the husbands will rule over them. I’ve seen this widely interpreted in the church as “your desire will be to rule over your husband, but he’ll rule over you” even though there is absolutely no reason for it to be interpreted “desire to rule” based on the original Hebrew word used (the “rule over” interpretation was invented by some random tradwife in the 70s and the church went wild w…

I agree, although I do encourage women to go to individual counseling fairly often, because it helped me realize a lot of things about my marriage and situation that ultimately helped me leave, and be a lot better off after leaving than I would have been. Granted, that depends on the quality of the counselor. Maybe I got lucky. When I see these miserable relationship posts, I very rarely think "mmm couples counseling" because it will so obviously just be another avenue for the guy to manipulate …

Most often, yes. Especially given how resistant a lot of men are to counseling - if your relationship has degraded to the point where a counseling-resistant person is willing to try it, things are probably irreparably bad, and one or both parties are hoping the counselor can wave a magic wand and fix the other person. Which isn't going to happen. The only time I think counseling can help is if both people are just really poorly communicating, but neither are full out in the wrong, they are still…

I went to couples therapy with my NVM ex husband. He ended up storming out of our third session because the therapist (a kind old man who had been in the game 30 years) called him out on his abusive behaviours. As my ex huffed out the door, the counselor watched him go, turned to me, and said "run." Realizing that a counselor with a ton of experience in being neutral was this freaked out by my ex was honestly really helpful and refreshing for me. It's definitely not your responsibility to be the…

Ugh, one time at the gym a guy was literally yelling out EXACTLY like a dude having a huge orgasm would, with every rep. My friend and I couldn't stop laughing, but I almost think it had to have been some weird kink thing. There's just no way someone could sound that ridiculous accidentally. Why are they like this? Don't they notice none of the women are shrieking on every rep?

I chewed out an old coworker because his wife was pregnant, they didn't want any more kids, and she wanted him to get a vasectomy. He was going on and on about how that's too scary and they should just tie her tubes while doing the c-section. I went off about how insane and selfish that was, and how adding a major surgery to an already huge and traumatic surgery is a much, much worse option than a procedure he'll be fully recovered from in like a day.
