Same for me as a man. I can find a woman gorgeous and still have no desire to do anything sexual with her unless or until an emotional connection forms. Partly because of my own inability to perform with strangers. I just cannot feel comfortable enough to have sex with someone unless I have known them for a while.

"Nonchalant" as opposed to what? Uptight and weirdly intense? That seems like it would be more off-putting, lol. Obviously being relaxed is more "cool" and hence better for dating.

Any theory that begins with "there are [X number] kinds of men/women" is bullshit.

I feel the same way about women. Even if I find her attractive, I have no desire to do anything until I learn about her and develop some sort of bond.

Sometimes people need to be confronted with blunt honesty. I just really want this person to know that I hate everything about their post - including the content, the way it's written, and the choice of words.

The counter is that you're drawing unjustified conclusions about the broader population with anecdotal evidence from a small sample. Also, you sound like a tool. (That's not an argument; it's just me telling you my opinion of you.)
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/26 10:22 PM

God, I hate this post so much. You use stupid phrases like "leveled up" and "haircut-maxed." And you make sweeping conclusions based on personal observation of your tiny cross-section of reality that you directly perceive. Such bullshit.

It's not so simple as "being a good man" or not. There are different kinds of people with different values, and some women appreciate certain qualities more than others. And the same thing is true of what men like in women. That's why we have the concept of compatability - one person's values will fit better with some people than others. This is why the whole framework of this forum's conception of human behavior is flawed from the outset. People here are asking the wrong questions. You shouldn'…

I have almost never heard a man attribute his success to women to being a good man. It’s always “I improved my confidence” or “i got in shape” or “I practiced talking to people until I was really sauve” That's because you're paying attention to a biased sample that tends to talk about those factors.

The blue pill treats attraction as something unknowable. The red pill treats it as a science. More like: blue pill treats attraction as a complex phenomenon with too many variables to reduce it down to simplistic concepts like SMV. Red pill is the pseudoscience quackery that tries to sell you on simpleton theories, claiming they have it all figured out and take advantage of people ignorant enough to believe it.

I didn't give a fuck about dating when I was a teenager. I just went to school, did my hobbies, and jacked off at the end of the day. And you know what? I was happy.

What people object to is the notion that relationships can't evolve out of friendship. As if being someone's friend precludes them from becoming more than friends. That's what isn't real. And if you assume it to be true, it'll turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

To be fair, you can sub to topics that you don't identify or agree with. I join all sorts of subreddits that I find abhorrent just so I can keep a pulse on what those people think.

That's one specific dimension that you've fixated on. I'm trying not to reduce human behavior down to one single dimension. It gets worse in some ways, and better in others. That's what evolution is. Evolution is not necessarily improvement. It's adaptation to a changing environment. Even if we do focus on the need for instant gratification, we can ask why this has happened and try to understand it. That would be a more productive response than just bemoaning it as a "weakening" or "deterioratio…

Alright, so maybe try to be more understanding of why people behave as they do, rather than simply writing it off as "inferior" to your ideal. That's my advice to you.

I'm speaking of the sociocultural level of analysis. People don't behave the same way they did 50 years ago; no fucking shit. They would be stupid if they did. Human behavior as a whole adapts to the technological, cultural, social circumstances of the time. If you find yourself wishing for behavior of a bygone era, you're the one who's falling behind.

I'm a 35 year old straight man, and I call my wife my partner because I like how it sounds. I'm not "trying to sound" a certain way. I just like that term personally. If I reflect more deeply on it, here's why I like it. First, I dislike the terms "boyfriend/girlfriend." It just sounds lame. "Partner" is easier and shorter to say, and it sounds more mature. I don't dislike the terms "husband/wife," but they do sound a bit old-fashioned to me. I like how a "partner" could be someone who is or isn…

I don't look at human behavior as "better and worse quality" because to do so would make me a simple-minded fool. Are you not capable of perceiving how human behavior might change over time out of a necessity to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances in which we find ourselves?

Neither am I, but that doesn't stop me from recognizing that human behavior evolves over time for both genders. Rather than complaining about it, I choose to embrace the evolution and adapt to it. Why don't you?

In that case, you've just agreed that all people are worse than their predecessors, regardless of gender. Why do you comment specifically on women, then? Have you considered that maybe these differences are due to cultural evolution, which has caused people to behave differently in general?

Don't you think the same could be said of men? I'm sure there are women who think "today's man is worse than his predecessors" too. I prefer to simply acknowledge that some people are worse than others, rather than trying to compare within a gender across generations.

Well those are the fucking breaks, man. Just because your dad had a better life than you doesn't mean "today's woman is of worse quality than her predecessors" (and if that statement doesn't make you cringe...I can't think of a polite way to say what I want to say to you).

As an introvert, I already think it looks bad from the outside. I definitely don't want any level of fame. I get uncomfortable when I encounter random people from my past in public, let alone being recognized by everyone, lol.
