I'm sorry, where does it say they are both being treated equally? You having trouble finding that? I know, because it doesn't exist. I am saying 'victims of abuse' because both men and women can be victims of abuse and both men and women can be abusers. Are you saying that lifetime victims of abuse are likely to speak up? If you believe that, then you have some research to do. I meant to say people. Anyone subject to systematic abuse by their family is not likely to speak up unless they face life threatening situations, and, even then, may not speak up. I wouldn't say either side is better off. I'd say that violence goes hand in hand with psychological abuse, financial abuse, etc. Generally, with a weapon, the crime is easier to prove. If one person is all cut up, then the other has pretty strong evidence on their side. In the end, the only option a person has with a partner who is losing their mind, is to walk away.
