Not a RPer, but I did discover it through TBP. Back when I was an ultra liberal, feminist, cheerleader of SJWs, I stumbled upon TBP and loved reading the satire, I couldn't believe the people they mocked even existed. Thanks to that influence, I originally viewed TRP as a small cult-like community that didn't respect women. Once I started digging around trying to understand why RPers felt the way they did, what experiences led to their beliefs, as well as questioning my own beliefs, my views beg…

That's pretty much how it works for me. Though it's tough to follow that up with some people, trying to explain why I have no desire for relationships or sex.

It's a combination of aromantic and schizoid. I also had Zoidberg on my mind at the time, it felt right.

I don't identify with any pill Are you in commited relationship/fwb arrangement, series of ons, on a dry spell/a virgin/etc.? Virgin, never been in a relationship Are you happy with current situation? Yes. I've been on a few dates in the past but they never held any interest for me. Discovering what asexuality and aromanticism was helped me understand myself better, an explanation for why I never had much interest. It has been a freeing experience for me. Do you feel you got lucky/worked hard to…

Yes, unfortunately I have an average libido that must be satisfied. Porn helps speed up the process I guess, since I have nothing to fantasize about. I usually watch simple stuff though since I don't seem to have any fetishes. It's a relaxing solo activity, more a release, but the thought of doing that with someone else is unappealing. There seems to be mixed experiences in the asexual community regarding this topic, some have no libido, some have very high libido, I haven't found much consisten…

The original post doesn't exactly describe what happened with me, since I've never really tried (hard) to get into a relationship, but I'll do my best to explain my situation. I think the only reason I ever thought about relationships or attempted dating in the past was because I felt some sort of societal pressure to be like everyone else, not because I actually wanted/desired intimacy. Even then, it was never a high priority for me, it wasn't something that I'd think about constantly nor somet…

You bring up an interesting point, where does "trying" (and desire) factor into incel definitions? Take myself for example: late 20s, never had sex, never tried to have sex, never complain about not having sex. I identify as asexual, but do I also fall into one of the above categories of inceldom?

I'm on the outside looking in when it comes to sex/relationship topics, merely an observer. I would feel dishonest choosing a side without proper evidence and personal experience. I view PPD like I view politics, neither side is correct 100% of the time, it's better to review on a case-by-case basis.

I was primarily raised by a single mother, though I did visit with my father regularly (just not nearly as much). My parents got divorced when I was young due to my father's struggle with alcoholism ( fortunately he's been sober for as long as I can remember, a success story). My father remarried a few years later and he always seemed to be the beta provider type. Personally, I've never been in trouble with the law. Went to college after high school and graduated, currently in the beginning of m…
