This is so freaking accurate! 😂 Happy to have said goodbye to OLD many years ago.

The accuracy… 😂🤣 The peace you feel once you are on the other side is so worth it. There is so much anxiety and feelings of unworthiness when you are in the “old you” but when you get to “new you” it’s just liberating. You realize your worth and no man is ever worth begging for. And interestingly enough, it’s usually the ones you begged for which are some of the lowest to no value men.

Never waste any more time or energy on someone who hurt you. A man that hurt you in the first place doesn’t care at all what you write or how you feel. No matter how heartfelt. If anything, it seems to solidify their “reason” for hurting you in the first place.

Thank you so much for your reply! Also, thank you for breaking down each action. I felt uncomfortable with the interactions with him and yet I was questioning myself. After his response, I started to wonder whether I was the one who was in the wrong the whole time even though I was more clear-headed about the situation previously. Unfortunately, him becoming defensive actually did work momentarily but I am so glad I have the FDS community to ask now. A year ago, it would've been a different stor…

Thank you so much for responding! I'll make sure to keep all copies of everything he sends and start only replying to messages through work. And thank you for the reminder that I am not obligated to be nice beyond basic decency, even in the workplace. That's one thing I really have to apply when there are men who try to break through my personal boundaries.

Haha relatable. I deleted most of these conversations (as I don’t want to put anymore energy into replaying those moments) but damn so cringeworthy. I’m embarrassed for myself when I think back on those moments. I’m glad I took the time to work on myself and she’d the old mentality.

Not OP but this describes my ex. I didn’t even realize it was abusive at the time. Only that I wasn’t being heard and not understanding why that was what was important to him. I felt so confused and in a haze. Thankfully those days are gone now.

Collective needs to stop coddling men and thinking this type of behavior is okay or that the onus is on women. Men need to level up and realize that this is not acceptable, ever. And women need to stop tolerating this bullshit. There is nothing wrong with her, what’s wrong is his behavior and the audacity to do that and think it’s okay. Ridiculous. Get rid of these assholes. He’s not worth it. Never going to be.

Gospel right here! Thank you. Honestly wish I read this last year, would’ve saved me a lot of time and misery. But, glad I know better. Never stop vetting! It’s funny how much freer and happier I am now after becoming more aware and no longer tolerating bullshit. 🥳

“You weren’t their first and you definitely won’t be their last.” Breaks my heart to think of another woman go through this experience. It will change you forever. It will change the next person forever. But the narc won’t feel a thing and likely will already be sapping the next target and won’t even remember the damage they caused on their destructive path.

I’m so sorry for your loss OP... Thank you for taking the time to share your beautiful story. This is the way women should always be treated in a relationship. No disrespect ever.

Too many times have I made endless deposits only for a NVM/LVM to continually withdraw. Moments of “taking out a loan” in other parts of my life just to make more deposits into the “shared account.” In the end, those relationships always leave you broke or much more of a significant loss. To emphasize what you said, “never make deposits to be drawn on later into a mans cash machine... when a woman needs a withdrawal, the account is empty or the account was never opened in the first place... feed…

Thank you! I’d much rather be authentic and true to myself than change to benefit someone else. At times, I debate changing the way I look or dress to fit the average person but then I see women like you who just live for them and I say forget that and do me. Keep inspiring with FDS energy!

There’s so much wrong in his text. On top of that, he’s being really manipulative with his whole, “I view you as a fair girl, I hope you’ll consider reimbursing me.” Like no, **** off.

Real talk. I’ve stopped trying to “understand” because there really is nothing to understand. It seems like these fools just continue to “correct” or “validate” to keep everyone including other men in the status quo and avoid change. Like, they wouldn’t want their “boy” to be out with an amazing woman because it would disrupt their status quo or group they’ve built for themselves. It’s like they don’t want to set a precedent and would rather keep everyone down acting like fools. If you are a man…

This right here! For the first time in my life, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing I am not alone or going crazy. After being gaslit for so long, you begin to gaslight yourself. But after finding this sub, I can finally see clearly now!

Every time you fight or when you break up, he has 10 women ready to give him the validation he’s addicted to. This. And it's one of the worst feelings ever because it is almost a subtle way to say "you are easily replaceable" without directly saying so.

Glad you're no longer with that chump. It's sad that these idiots will take advantage of a woman but would never do that to their male friends. I was in a similar situation and damn did I feel like an idiot afterwards. The hardest part is knowing how much time, money, and energy was spent that can't be taken back and just seeing the experience as a lesson learned.

Always walk away from someone who doesn't value you. If you stay then you are setting yourself up for failure in more ways than one. If you stay... you will eventually doubt yourself, your self-worth, lose valuable time, feel emotionally and mentally drained, and just eventually regret staying in the first place. Do not ever stay for someone who doesn't value you or treat you like the queen and/or goddess that you are. Always walk away because YOU know your worth.

If a man ever tells you anything bad about himself when you first start dating, believe him!! It is either 1. he is telling you the truth or 2. testing you and your self-worth or 3. eventually bring you down to his level because he thinks you can do better and it will always be on the back of his mind I repeat. If he ever says anything bad about himself, believe him and walk away. Do not lower your standards for someone who thinks shit about themselves and has the opportunity to do better but do…

Created The comments are why I love this community. There is no point in asking a cheater or liar to be honest about something they were hiding in the first place. Access to their phone shouldn't be denied or snooping is totally warranted. Honestly, I don't feel like a man should have anything he keeps completely secret like a phone, laptop, etc.

Good god is this true. Literally every egotistical a-hole is upset that they're getting called out on their shit and try to place blame on the woman as if she is doing something wrong. Men just hate being called out on their poor behavior because that would mean they need to change.
