There’s nothing wrong with compromise in principle… it just depends on what you’re compromising. Compromise does go both ways, and if you’re dating someone who’s on a one way street, please- for your own sanity, find someone else. There’s nothing wrong with compromising things, like for instance, where you’re going to go for dinner… There IS something wrong with compromising things that push your personal boundaries or integrity. DO NOT compromise on those ever.

I think I can file show cause on her… but I don’t know what would come of it tbh… I don’t know what else I would say, other than, she hasn’t paid her child support… but they already know that. I guess at this point I’m more concerned that the DCSE seems like they aren’t too concerned with enforcing the child support.. I don’t get why, after all this time its “being prepped for court”… I get the impression that the case worker is on her side, or feels bad for her.

This is actually recommended by lawyers. If a spouse, male or female gets cancer, lawyers and financial advisors will often recommend divorcing so the spouse that is survived doesn’t get left with a mountain of debt. Terming it “abandonment” is a convenient way to drive a narrative based in raw numbers, but it doesn’t account for the amount of people that divorce for the financial reasons (but are actually still together).

What you’re describing sounds more like collateral damage from the right.
