I've read through most of the main spine of the Ender series and I don't recall him ever learning he killed that kid. And when he realized he committed (almost) total genocide he regretted it and was angry with everyone involved, including himself. But then if some good guy starts shooting at some bad guy, what is to stop another good guy from thinking the good guy with the gun is actually a bad guy, and then you have a good guy shooting at a good guy. | -11 | Drunk fan slaps a copWell, by that logic you can punch someone in the face and a valid/legal response would be for them to shoot you in the shoulder. I'm pretty sure a court would convict someone that escalated things that much. Kind of like how this cop escalated the attacks a bit. Sure the shooting example is more extreme, but a punch in the face is also pretty extreme as a retaliation over a slap on the head.
