I am homesteading in a very rural setting completely off grid and I absolutely guarantee that both my wife and I work harder at home than either of us ever have at work. To be so scared of something that has almost no chance of happening isn't very reasonable. As someone who also struggles with mental health, my suggestion would be to try and focus on the things you can control, and this isn't one of them.
