I get that, but also I'm self conscious about eating in front of people I don't know well 😭

Can someone explain what the gamestop thing was? I'm quite out of the loop 😅

A LVM ex once told me, "I am so glad you said ILY first because I am scared of saying it first." Like excuse me?!??!? I don't understand what it is about LTRs that some guys are so "scared" of 🤨🤧

I used to think asking my ex to come fetch me when it was raining really heavily was too high maintenance, he sounded really annoyed! And then he made me wait 30 minutes more because he had to help a random stranger first (without even telling me that!)

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply! I agree with everything you said, I guess I'm just being paranoid because so many people attack the ones who speak out rather than the abuser.

Why are LVM always obsessed with getting you to watch their favourite shows? It's such a trivial thing to fret over, especially if you have real life responsibilities.

Had an ex text me good morning everyday...for the first week then stopped because it was "too much effort" and that I should be doing it to him 🤨😬🙄

Uh what even is going on there 🤨 So he's not going to treat her better ("let alone give time and attention..."), and also not looking to establish something permanent with her ("until i'm done/its over,") What even is the point of dating her then???

Why do some men have such a personal vendetta against giving gifts???

I wish I knew this earlier. My ex asked his ex to be his gf with an elaborate romantic gesture. He asked the next girl after me by organizing a flash mob. I got asked when we were walking around the neighborhood.

Sometimes I think, maybe the Dreamgirl is only a Dreamgirl BECAUSE she got away. Your story is so heart-wrenching, that guy is a jerk! You deserve to be treated with care, affection, and creativity!

One time, some organization at my school sold roses for International Women's Day. I specifically asked my ex to buy me one, even led him to the table where they were selling them. He said he will not buy one for me. Later on, he jokingly said that he would do it once I'm not paying attention as a surprise so I let it slide and gave him space and time to do it. I waited for a week and there was no rose, ever. It was only $3. I could get it myself easily but I just wanted to feel special on that …

Beside what I commented, he had sooooooo many issues that we'd be here all day just talking about it. But the breaking point was the fact that he kept pushing my boundaries, telling me to take my clothes off on multiple occasions even when I said no. At first I thought maybe it's the Western culture, that's normal here, they're more open, etc... (because I'm new to America), but I discovered FDS, and I realized that's not it, he just doesn't respect me 🤦‍♀️ so I broke up with him and that's the …

I'm Vietnamese, my ex was a white American guy. 🚩 He never called me "beautiful", or "pretty", or "gorgeous", just "cute." Even when I asked specifically "Just cute, not beautiful?" he'd never reply. 🚩 Said I'm a "chibi version of a human" (I'm short) like it's a compliment. 🚩 He also made "jokes" about how I am "dating my colonizer" 🥴

My ex was never able to sleep when I was lying next to him. No matter how many times I asked what the problem was so we can fix it, he would never answer. It used to make me feel so guilty cause he already had a fucked up sleep schedule so I didn't want to fuck it up even more, but it was so bizarre??? Obviously we aren't together anymore but I'm still perplexed to this day. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

How do I stop being angry with myself for allowing my ex to treat me badly? Now that it's over I look back and saw all the red flags that should have sent me running but instead I let it slide for so long. I'm disappointed in myself for having been such a pickme and that any future HVM will see my past relationships as indications to stay away (it's a small community so words are bound to get around).

There are guys out there whose entire personality is dictated by reddit memes. Who cares if someone doesn't worship Keanu Reeves? Who cares if someone likes pumpkin spice latte? Who cares if the "basic" stuff (e.g. romantic gestures) your girl asks for is "cringy" if it makes her happy in the end? Why do you care more about the opinion of people on the internet who will not ever see your life more than the opinion of your SO?

Omg yes. My ex always needed to be right about the most trivial things that have absolutely no effect on our lives, that are mostly reddit things. And he wouldn't let it go until I said that he was right and start doing things "the right way".

Thanks for the advice! I guess I'm just afraid some guys will say I was lying to him if I didn't tell them this before he thinks it's a given.

When and how should I tell someone I'm dating that I'm waiting until marriage to have sex? I'm not religious, I just don't want casual relationships. I want a forever home for my heart. I'm not willing to have sex until I found that my partner is committed to me not only because of the emtional effects but also the risks of pregnancy and STD. But the problem is, I'm in college, so I heard that sex for college guys are an absolute must in a relationship. A lot of people also tell me that guys wil…
