I was looking for something a little more advanced, but thank you.

Yeah I commented the same thing earlier. That's so obvious for me I didn't think to clarify. "Same" instead of "equal" is a better descriptor. It goes back to my original problem of thinking I had to treat girls socially as the same and confusing that with thinking that meant I was treating them as equals. Tricky to explain properly.

Yeah I didn't mean to imply anything about the law. I just meant in terms of behavior and my natural reactions. Thank you for the recommendations. I will put Casanova on the reading list. Any books on emotional intelligence that have impacted you?

Thank you. I agree with this. Although I have yet to find meditation useful.

I agree. The question is how to move on from that feeling, since it obviously isn't helpful. It's a question I'm still asking myself. Check out Patrice O'Neal for a helpful example outside of TRP lingo.

Personally I think she ran nearly entirely on her gender. A talking point she pushed out hard was "most qualified." To me being qualified is the bare minimum. It's not a compelling reason to vote for someone. If she had used "competent" then at least it would have honest for the low bar she set. Her campaign slogan "I'm with her" reeked entirely of attempting to guilt voters into voting for her. Why on earth would I be compelled to vote for someone to represent me on the idea that "I'm with her"…

The other guy handed it to me. It'll probably die. Don't join if you're afraid of getting doxxed. Basically I mean there's no right answer that group think trp sometimes tries to impose. Instead there are answers you feel are honest. But whatever

Do what feels right. Don't let the outcome affect your self esteem, but do let it affect what feels right afterwards.

The idea is you're not supposed to care about it this much. It's a catch 22 with an out. Girls are more attracted to guys who care about their own happiness independent of them. So the key here is to focus on your own life. That way the women that get closer to it are 1) more in awe of you 2) at least a little more replaceable But the point is unless you know of a reason otherwise you shouldn't care that much if one girl or another gets closer to you.

Just google Patrice O Neal and see if you like him enough to listen to him. Here's a clip if you want one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28gvMM8KXm4

Something Simple Pickup talked about was not taking a girl's flake personally because you never know the full conditions of her life. Her long term boyfriend could have just agreed to take her back, she could be in a weird place mentally, etc.

I would feel similarly if it weren't for Patrice O'Neal's example. It's hard to learn from just text posts. To me the general concept is learning to commit to your instincts with or without exterior approval. This is pretty difficult to solely self teach so it's good to find resources that help you build yourself.

This is great and ironically what I hope to see when I check in with this sub. I have two questions for you: I feel like I'm reaching the end of my tenure on the sub since a lot of the posts here seem repetitive, negative, and at their worst regressive to me. Do you have any lessons or posts in particular that stuck with you and resonated with you? Do you have any recommendations for learning about beginners finance?

If I were you I'd listen to Patrice O'Neal's "The Black Phillip Show" and see what your natural reactions are. Here's a clip of him, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28gvMM8KXm4 The show is basically a radio show of him giving advice to guys who call in about women while women are in the room with him.

I agree, I find they like they get very engaged in the customs of their field and have trouble translating it to someone who is unfamiliar with their terms and the existing terrain of their study.

I think everyone has their own style that works for them. For proof of this check out Jeffery Gurian and Patrice O'Neal on the Black Phillip Show. I think you're projecting your own style and insecurities that come with that onto me. I'd happily answer your questions and enter a discussion about the topics you mentioned, but they seem rhetorical, as if these specifics work best for you so they should work best for me too. If you do already believe you know what specifics work best for me without…

Cool thank you. I tried a different Pinker book, The Better Angels of our Nature, but am having trouble finishing it. I watched a clip of him talking and immediately didn't engage, so my theory is if an author isn't a good speaker he won't make for an interesting writer either. Which one is your favorite?

I enjoyed this. Does anyone know of any books on solipsism and possibly how it relates to women? Maybe even an evolutionary psychology book that goes into depth on some of the things OP mentioned.

Personally I don't mind being 'found out' enough to go through this rigamarole. I'm not that scared of standing by what I think about. Throwaway should cover it for most people.

If you haven't listen to the Black Phillip Show (Patrice O Neal) although it sounds like you already have. Beyond that focus on yourself. Women serve as reflections of us, so any time you focus on them understand it leads back to you.

I'll try to be more specific with my language. I aim for both results that make me feel good and process that makes me feel good. That way they feed into each other successfully. If I only focused on process that makes me feel good I would do things that make me feel bad because I wouldn't get results that make me feel good. If I only focused on results that make me feel good I would feel unmotivated, unaccomplished, and unhappy even when getting the results I want. By searching for the results …

Again, I appreciate it. I got pull up rings in my backyard so that should work for me.

I don't enjoy the process of working out in the gym, while I do enjoy the process of working out at home. As well as working for results I'm also working on developing long term habits I can improve upon for the rest of my life. I would've explained this more in the post but I didn't think it was relevant to my question.

I believe in hardship / sacrifice for what ultimately makes me feel good. Even when visiting the gym successfully and getting the results I wanted, the visit itself would never make me feel good, only the results. In contrast the process of exercising in my own backyard with my own music playing, shirtless with stupid dancing breaks does make me feel pretty good. I hope to get weights soon so I can optimize results as well, but there's no harm in starting cultivating good habits and learning abo…

Yeah I have to say I'm surprised the consensus here leans so heavily pro-gym. As a result the gym is good for me short term. But it's not sustainable for me because it doesn't make me happy. Even when thriving at the gym results-wise I imagine I would be much happier doing similar exercises at home.

I remember realizing that on my own before any male guidance whatsoever. It's definitely a good starting point, but it serves to counteract feelings of inferiority rather than deal with those feelings directly.

Very true and good to remember. Somehow the conventional mindset gets it backwards a lot of the time. Thank you.

True. But there are also a bunch of emotions that come along with that that I'm used to ignoring (to my own detriment). Such as feelings of acceptance, pleasure, pride, gratitude, ego boost etc. Real tribal shit.

Basically I'd like to host a show where we discuss problems relevant to people and talk to the people with the most knowledge about them. Then we go into competing theories of ways to solve them and negotiate which ones might be the best. I actually really really love arguing, and this to me is the purest way to argue for a living. I'm young so I'm just chasing that for now and seeing where I can take myself. So that's my mission. Arguing / debating is what makes me the happiest. Beyond that pro…
