Any religion can insist on such bullshit.

I may well have some unchecked privilege. If I have ,I try not to let if affect who I am and how I live my life. I just try and be fair to everyone and that's all I can do. If someone else is being attacked (for a reason I don't know why), intervening will just result in them fucking me over too. Call the police and attempt to disrupt it all from a distance. I'm still me. As a bloke I'm probably a more legitimate target.

This is happening in a country where people can shoot people on their property with basically no other considerations (dependant on state). But apparently this guy fucked up by doing a throw and walking away.

Most people in this thread seem to be along the lines of "Well, there's no evidence this post is real, but it reminds me of several of these that I've had with people".

In the Mythbusters case the knife is drawn, in the stabbing position and the guy is charging at the one with the gun. The kid didn't even have a knife in his possession.

Whilst that's technically true, people need to stop rationalising this from their calm room at home and a few lines of internet article and realise this was probably quite a fucked up situation. Father being told there's someone in the house by his youngest, strange kid found in his daughter's room, a gun being pointed in someone's face, an argument breaking out with the kid's girlfriend denying she knows him. The whole situation is a clusterfuck. I don't think she deserves some of the vilificat…

I believe once her father dies it's called an inheritance, and therefore hers...

The article talked about the fact that this couldn't be a blanket ruling. From the sounds of the article the man seemed to state "I'm the husband, I don't have to pull out even if I said I would", seemingly in his defence. They went to great lengths to state that it could easily be a "he said, she said" argument and therefore be unlikely to be prosecutable in most circumstances.

As much as I agree with your sentiment, calling it "top comment" does seem a bit rich when it's got a grand total of 3 upvotes. It's a pretty low sample size.

If it doesn't say she did or didn't act in good faith, then it's reporting the facts. You can't report that her intent was to springboard a feminist career, that would be editorialising and unprofessional.

It's a very long article with one point in it, I think you could have done a lot more and driven the point home better.

This isn't a girls/boys thing, he's actually not allowed to do it because the majority of boys in his year group can't grow one either.

But how is she going to get a free meal if she protests at his behaviour and treatment of her before the meal?

Yep, but that's men's fault because men are criminals. It's only fair that they're mostly the target of their own violence and hate. EDIT: </s>

Wait, Kellogg was also a circumcision activist? I knew about the masturbation thing. Well, I suppose it makes sense in his weird mind.

Seeing as this is from 2010, here's the update: An "irresponsible and wicked" woman was jailed for three years today after she slashed her body, hair and clothing to convince police she was the victim of a serious sexual assault. Ibrahim, of Deerpark Road, will serve half her sentence in custody before she is released on licence for the remaining period. Sometimes the system does actually work.

It's a comedy, I choose to suspend my disbelief and not read too much into it. Otherwise you end up with the whole paranoid-everything-must-be-equal mindset which I think stifles a lot of non-intentionally sexist/racist/other expression.

And to be honest, Lois is quite an assertive, intelligent and upstanding woman who continually outshines Peter and highlights his stupidity. She does play the role of a housewife though. But if we start disecting a show like Family Guy about this we'll learn that babies are evil psychopaths, old people are paedophiles and airline pilots are sex addicts (actually that last one sounds close :p)

I'm a non-Jewish Brit too. I find it can turn into a sprinkler either way, but if it's not retracted I can direct the stream (or even unify multiple ones).
