Even if you're value is slightly lower than hers, like 7 to an 8, then she's probably still happy, for a time. This is totally congruent with beta behavior during a relationship requiring more and more effort before ultimately leading to failure. What I mean is, it tends to be the case that when a guy starts to go into beta territory his 'acts of love' have to become more and more grand in order to 'mean something.'
