My apologies for being so blunt. I know it hurts. I have been there. It fucking hurts like nothing I had felt till then. As I said to friends at the time, it was worse than the passing of my parents, because although their passing was more significant, death is at least final and over. Not something that drags on and on. But, sometimes we need to hear words that are too the point, even if they are painful. You and your wife are over as h and w. Grieve, for sure but the sooner you accept that fact…

It's over. She has moved on and so should you. The writing is on the wall. Grow a backbone and begin acting like a man for yourself and your children. It's not like you were just made a quadrapalegic from an accident, you're just getting a divorce. Breaking up and divorcing happens to thousands of people every day. In the end, you will be happier and insist it was the best thing to happen.

Man, if the writing was ever on the wall, this is such a case. It's over, not ever to be retrievable in any acceptable form. Keep your dignity, end it and move on with your life.

This is a slippery slope. Many years ago, courts did away with drunkenness as an acceptable legal defence for crimes of violence / murder against others, because even being drunk courts said person still had the "intent" to do harm, so seems like would be challenging to now allow drunkenness as proof that consent could not possibly have been given.
