When you keep a male only offense and just go ahead and create a new offense that can also be applied to women but still have a legal system where the literal crime of "rape" is male only, you've got a distinction there that's not meaningless. 0	Damn straight No I'm not being disingenuous I'm being quite literal. Literally in England gender is an absolute defense against the literal charge of rape. Nothing more nothing less. There is a serious crime that you can't be charged with over there if you're a woman.
