It was at one point surely. My position is that the later decision to leave it as is and invent a whole new law is not a quirk.

No. If it were irrelevant then you'd simply edit rape to a definition that includes women rapists. When you keep a male only offense and just go ahead and create a new offense that can also be applied to women but still have a legal system where the literal crime of "rape" is male only, you've got a distinction there that's not meaningless. That'd be like in America having an aggravated burglary crime on the books where not being black is a total defense and then saying "but it's ok we've added …

Except there is no such thing as a crime of female on male rape. Which the link I gave you explicitly says and I explicitly said. You can take issue with the "suggestion" I made in your imagination which is why you can't quote me or the law. But you're battling yourself, the facts are quite clear and I spoke quite intentionally.

Hell if I marry a girl whose out working bringing money to our household and she comes home after flying across the world to catch me in bed with someone else I'd expect to get El Kabonged over the head too. Rage is basically the only appropriate reaction there

It's more history than some conspiracy to deprive all men of equality. But, in these days where it's trendy to retcon history and "modernize" notions that are so troubling, we never really go in that direction.

I explained above but you've just echoed exactly my point. There can not be a woman convicted of rape in England. I didn't say all sexual assault. But rape, the dreaded and most serious of offenses we have in our English language and Commonwealth law systems, is reserved for men.

No I'm not being disingenuous I'm being quite literal. Literally in England gender is an absolute defense against the literal charge of rape. Nothing more nothing less. There is a serious crime that you can't be charged with over there if you're a woman. There's other sexually assaultive offenses that a woman could be brought up on but not rape.

In England that's actually a literal thing. Right there in the UK laws it says women can't rape men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
