Is it just me or does the speaker sound like a Disney Princess? Give these women an Oscar, gd. This is perfection.

If I'm forming new language, I'm open to its learning, in which my first reply indicated that. In fact I would say I rarely use that word, because I agree. However, I can joke amongst my friends and we can call eachother any name under the sun and there is no angst. If you want to foster FDS as a place of safety and not toxicity, then maybe women pitting themselves against other women is not that. And in a safe space and with no ill intent, that particular word is not the evil you project it to …

I am not here to fight you. And I am respecting you even if I explain my thought process, but you are welcome to take it as such. If, finally, a woman such as yourself stands up and says that that they are finally done with the toxic nature of men, and you come onto her thread and say your peace, which you are entitled to, and I am showing you respect for, then you are here to bring me down, why? You and all can have your opinion, but right now in this context, you are what you preach against. A…

I say it with re-ownership of a word used against us, and I say it as a model of empowerment. But really I hear you, and I understand fully. But also I think, fuck everyone else who can turn that word against us, why can't we reclaim it and let it become a shield? Why do we allow it to remain a weapon? Just musing. No answers. There are all sorts of triggers and I respect if this is one of yours, or of any others. But remember, intent behind a word can also come from a positive place, and in thi…

OP is right. The problem is that now graphic imagery and videos are accessible by very young children, and this shapes both genders, years before they are aware of its impact. And many may never question it, until untold damage is done, and they have engaged in practices well before the appropriate years. Even as older teens the imagery and mentality is destructive. And so the cycle of women as objects continues, W But this time the newest generations have normalised it on a social level, much t…

I try to keep an open mind when it comes to men, despite my own experiences, but hearing things like this just cements my desire to become the old cat lady. It would be good to see source material of statistics before accepting this number blindly, but honestly I have very few doubts of it being fake or exaggerated.

It is not good, I agree. I just know that we can't predict how we will react to trauma. When my dad was suddenly diagnosed stage 4, my depression spiked and I started losing myself to it. I held it sort of together until he passed 3 months later and then I crashed hard. Never would have thought prior that that would be my reaction, as I was focussing on him and helping him get through, but stress can fuck you up. It's easy to judge situations we aren't actually in, and there are always a million…

I don't think this will be received well here but I need to play devil's advocate, because it is far too easy to jump on the hate the man bandwagon, but she describes him as also having good qualities, which you all ignore for his reaction here. Maybe because I'm trained in mental health, but my first thought wasn't that he was being selfish, or the other negative things said in these comments above, but that he feels like he's failed her, and taken it hard. Yes, he needs to take a breath and ma…

Really doesn't make much sense why, after we look back. But in it... So many justifications made.

I think you're right, but because my previous narcissistic relationships were more obvious and I stepped away (eventually, finally), and he showed crumbs of awareness, I justified. Have to love myself more so I stop attracting and accepting these men.

He was very very content with his bubble, and only invited me into it for when he wanted pleasure. If course because he starved me, I went running. What a blind fool with a heart too big for him.

I think it has been because I've always tried to understand myself, and so the extension into observing his behaviours felt normal. Plus, I think I rationalise it as, if we as females didn't do this, wouldn't we still be pandering to all the men that led us to subs like this, because we'd be ignoring their behaviours? Having said that, you make a good point. Going to step back from focusing on them and more on how I feel so I don't end up knowing I'm miserable for a year and wondering why i stay…

Just cut ties for good with mine. This post struck deep. Articulated my observations-turned-rationales so perfectly. Why we do this. Whyy

It can be a very supportive community of sisters indeed. I have been learning a lot about myself too, and detaching from what I knew to be normal. Slow but important process

I'm going to go with you trusting your instinct on this, seeing as you know your past and are the only one of us actually present in your relationship. And I trust that you are being wary, it's the smart thing to do. But mostly I'm absolutely and utterly impressed in his emotional intelligence. What a breath of fresh air it must be to slowly recharge into a healthy relationship after so much toxicity. I had honestly gotten to the point where I decided I'm not going to enter any more relationship…
