Yeah, I don’t think this applies to my situation & I’m not seeking validation.

We are not the same kind of people. A lot of people think that being aware of your own ability and owning it is cocky. I’m lucky to be pretty, but I’ve also worked really hard to get where I am in life & have a lot of accomplishments. I’ve given that same kind of effort to my love and I’ve never once had it reciprocated. I think the only reason I’ve pushed through it for so long is that I thought if I could be better, we could eventually develop into a happy/suitable partnership. I have tried to…

Oh, yeah, my bad. I misunderstood. I don’t think it’s a gendered thing. A lot of people do. It’s unfortunate that something so simple & “easy” to fix (I mean I know it’s not easy, there has to a lot of pain keeping that from happening. At least in my case) is the cause of so much unnecessary pain for the people they love most in their lives. Super sad.

You’re saying I lack accountability and empathy? How are you getting that? You don’t know anything about him, I, or our relationship…

I think there are a few more options than that. I’m glad you’re happy though!

If you want to know what I’ve done, I’ve spent countless hours over the years reading up ways to lovingly handle his insecurities and help improve, and my own, as well as how to improve the dynamic of the relationship. I have initiated and guided every difficult conversation that needed to be had. I have forgiven him without him actually being able to ask more times than I can count, because he simply can’t ask, because he can’t take accountability. He has never met my needs. I have sacrificed t…

Because that’s not the point of the discussion. I’m the only one improving. I’ve outgrown him several times over. I thought we could grow together & I was wrong.

That men can’t take responsibility for themselves? because that’s all I see here.

Idk I think Jennifer Anniston is still hot. I’ve met badass women that met the love of their lives at 70. And I’ve met badass women that have stayed single all their lives. I just broke up with the love of my life because he can’t take accountability for all the times he’s broken my heart, take emotional responsibility to keep it from happening again, & has no idea how to validate someone else’s feelings. He’s a “man’s man” as he puts it. Meaning he’s fucking clueless & after 7 years has not imp…

I don’t see the point in trying to prove anything to you. You’re going to see what you want out of life. If this is your attitude, and you can’t take responsibility for your actions, I can see why you’re divorced.

Don’t press her, but if you can get her to possibly file for a separation instead to allow time to prove to show that you’ve changed. She will probably need a lot of time alone to let her heart heal from you and to be able to feel any warmth toward you. If you want a future with her, you should give her as much time & space as she wants and needs. You should ask her (AND LISTEN TO) what she says she wants. Don’t try to do anything different or better or extra, just show her respect by respecting…

Sounds like it would be relatively easy to save your relationship. It’s not about the video games, it’s about the effort you’re putting in to easing your wife’s load. What I hear her saying is “I’m tired. My emotional needs aren’t being met and I feel like you care more about your video games than our relationship.” Which to be fair it sounds like you do. If you want to give up your marriage because you don’t want to find a way to make it work, go ahead. Doesn’t sound like you’ve tried anything …

I'd like to link this as Meta, but I don't have access from a computer & I don't think the app is capable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
