That has real potential - have a celebration but not get legally married and a divorce wouldn't even be possible. In some places courts might say this is close enough to legal marriage to make some award, but the risks are a lot less.

I see where you're coming from but personally I could see getting married at some point. The circumstances are pretty limited, but I wouldn't rule it out. There are a lot of assumptions here (marriage is at least a possibility, courts are pretty useless because of bias against guys, women who seemed OK become angry and bitter, and so on).
