I am a woman and I agree with this. Something about being direct as a woman seems to make other women shut down. Especially women in leadership positions. It’s okay for men to speak directly to them but heaven forbid a woman asks a direct question. I feel as if we are perceived as more aggressive for being direct than men are which may be why we have to overthink how we communicate and often fail at it. I’m either rude or too emotional and the only other option is to put up and shut up.

I think it’s rough that human psychology and society still make it the man’s job to pursue. I think it’s rough that traditionally men pay for most things. I think women are altogether too ridiculous and demanding about something as unimportant as height.

It would certainly make me feel as if I don’t look like a sack of shit, lol. I never get hit on, though, so that’s probably a pretty clear indicator that I’m nowhere near as good looking as I think I am.

I think it would be considerably easier to express myself fully as a human being if I were a man. My choices, attitudes, behaviours and even facial expressions wouldn’t be constantly policed. Even emotionally I think men being hell bent on claiming they can’t cry or be “soft” just shows a lack of courage to stop giving af what other men judge about them.

LOL it sort of depends. I’ll be honest if I haven’t had sex in six months I’d jump some bones. But I like the build up generally speaking. I’m like a 4 out of 10 though so the opportunities to flirt are kinda few and far between.

From a woman’s perspective, even by todays standards, if we become the type of women who give an enthusiastic yes right away we often become the targets of abuse. Men often still view women and their sexuality as a resource that can belong only to one or at the very least, not very many of them. Sex workers, for example, can get killed and most people wouldn’t give a flying monkey’s unwashed asshole.

How you define “shit personality” will be telling in this situation. How do you define femininity? Are women to be intellectually inferior and emotionally soft to not have a “shit personality”? The dirtiest gaslighting men have ever done is associating proper womanhood with tolerating jaw dropping acts of utter disrespect.

I mean, ya’ll have access to some really good porn that doesn’t appeal to most women. I really like regular guys but regular guys think they deserve supermodels and I am not that.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 03:39 PM

Idk my only serious flaws are that I’m tall for a woman, have very pale skin and slightly saggy boobs and this seems to be enough to put me in the uggo category as far as modern beauty standards are concerned. Also I like men and I have a thing for fatties and and unique looking dudes. Never have been into male model looking types they’re usually either way too full of themselves or I’d have too much competition.

Being patronized means being under the thumb of someone else. You get taken care of, sure, but your autonomy by and large is taken away from you. If I can’t have the freedom to get a job, go camping solo, choose not to get pregnant etc, that isn’t really love. As an ugly woman, I get treated as invisibly as men do. I’m fairly sure most men would chafe under the burden of being treated like children.

We legit demand to not live life on easy mode in pursuit of self determination, autonomy and basic freedom on a constant basis. This just feels like a projection from some guys on the basis of historical interdependence. Unless, from a perhaps darker angle, he means women have an easier time due to their looks thereby completely omitting the reality of women who are not perceived as attractive to the male gaze and the fact the opposite types of women just get treated like they’re stupid.

Mainstream media is toxic. Ignore it at all costs. Or, perhaps more realistically, constantly question it. That said though, even if this wasn’t a planned way to garner more long term fan support/viewership, it’s at least a baby step in the right direction, if a very flawed one. This is usually the case when it comes to social and cultural change. It’s a gradation that eventually leads to the truth until it’s some other thing entirely.

You sound like you’re talking about picking out a dog breed, not a person. Although my body count is nowhere near the triple digits and I agree that solving emotional issues with sex is problematic for either gender there is no way in hell I would ever submit to the idea that I need to behave more like a depreciable object to be respected by men. My thoughts, feelings, body and soul belong to me and me alone. The whole entire point of being alive is authenticity, creative expression and personal…

You’re misunderstanding me. You’re right, but just denying our feelings only makes them worse in the long run. They have to be properly processed and understood in order to be experienced in a beneficial way. Not just stuffed into a bottle and ignored until they become destructive. What’s enlightening isn’t the emotions themselves, it’s what they teach us through the process of experiencing them in a healthy way.

Society has been overly complex for decades now to the point where simple, relaxed, practical people who are doing their best to keep up get left behind and then derogated. We don’t know how to deal with our emotions effectively and healthily in most societies because we’ve been operating under the masculine view that logic is superior and emotions are pointless. Emotions are what makes us human, we’ve just lost touch with the ability to process them in a healthy way. This requires being more ho…

If people were more authentic the concept of “walls” wouldn’t really exist. Why we live our lives for the approval of others will forever be beyond me.

So is it different if a man has a body count in the triple digits? I’m not personally seeing the issue. If you’re disease free once you commit you commit.

Women have freedom now =\= having copious amounts of sex. It’s not 1997, you don’t need to project.

Video game obsession and never wanting to go outside. People who hate hiking or having anything to do with the outdoors bore me to tears.

As a woman when I was dating I found organic connections much more tenable. Online dating creates sets of expectations and preconceptions that mess with people in the long run. Like women wanting easy dinner and men wanting easy sex. We used to have two different versions of self, now we have three thanks to the internet and it’s splitting our personalities in irreversible ways. If I were still dating I’d prefer a gentlemen to ask me out in person to a nice dinner or a coffee shop. I’ve stopped …

I am woman with a lot of masculine character traits but that’s just sort of how I turned out. I don’t think that really says anything about the kind of person I am. I think it’s important to understand the power of authenticity and keeping people in boxes because it makes other people less nervous is a waste of time and energy.

I don’t really go for super good looking or high status men because it becomes too much of a territorial pissing contest that I’m just not interested in. Personality and character are a million times more attractive to me than looks, status and money, even though I recognize the benefit in the latter. Long game I can make enough money to survive (being rich is a silly, impractical goal imho) on my own and it makes more sense to be with someone of good character than someone of superficial value.…

Stop saying “it’s just the way it is” that certain men should get all the women and actually be creative enough to try harder. Creative, joyful men are so much more attractive than just good looking ones or tall ones or passionate, bipolar “bad boys”, I promise. I feel like this would level the playing field a lot more.

It’s just then men get bored quicker when women do the offering. There’s nothing more painful than thinking a man is interested in you only for him to get bored in no time.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/24 07:55 PM

This one is really confusing to me because even as a woman other women are constantly judging me for not bothering to dress sexy, do my hair, wear fake nails or get a tan. The hair one in particular seems to really bother people. Just because I have long hair doesn’t mean it absolutely must be styled and perfect on a daily basis. It’s like if you don’t buy into the hierarchy strategy you get treated like you’re unhinged, if you do you’re judged negatively by men and if you do it too well other w…

Society can make pregnancy and child birth a lot more appealing. It doesn’t, so I choose not to put myself through that. I will also not be put under the thumb of some dude just to ultimately be disrespected. I owe absolutely nothing to a society that claims it owes me nothing.

Boring men who put in zero effort don’t get dates. It’s not always about looks. When I was much more attractive in my twenties I dated average to even conventionally unattractive men because they actually had personalities and their opening message intrigued me. “Hey” is an immediate turn off. Creativity goes a long way. I guess you could call that pretentious but I knew what I wanted and men being bland as suburban drywall absolutely wasn’t it. People often forget that app dating creates a comp…

Men equate respect with a power dynamic instead of understanding respect as a functional, basic concept that has its roots in empathy, understanding and equality. When a man says a woman has no respect for herself because of the way she dresses or her choice of career, what he really means is she doesn’t have respect for the role expected of her by the men around her. I tend not to have respect for creatures that lack empathy and fail to understand personal agency because that would mean they ar…

I mean, maybe it is anecdotal, but I’ve personally never considered average or even slightly below average looks to be a deal breaker of any kind. I’m a six foot tall woman and have dated men much shorter than me with zero issues. I see that mostly as a projection men make to justify their own views of relationships with women. I promise you back when I was below average looking, as a woman, I was essentially invisible to men. It’s not really a lack of experience that puts men in a corner, it’s …

In my experience men become sloppy in ltr. Sloppy with hygiene, sloppy with their surroundings and sloppy with their emotions. Sex is less appealing when somebody never wipes down the counters after they use them and rarely brushes their teeth. Sex is less appealing with someone who thinks hiding what they really think and feel is what benefits their relationship. Refusing to show emotion is remarkably unattractive. These are anecdotal experiences of my own and not data. I have seen it happen re…

My dude, I am just as afraid of rejection as any man is. I’m not against asking men out but I’m also not interested in getting laughed at and told I look like a horse’s ass for trying. That is an actual example.

Speaking as a woman it’s just that sometimes the bad experiences outweigh the good. In truth, we want what everyone wants and it’s not so much looks as it is connection. When you’re convinced that all that matters is appearance from both sides of the gender spectrum, you miss the point. Build connection and rapport with people and allow the chemistry to naturally build. Those have always been some of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It works best when you’re in a shared social situation or ha…

Not particularly unless I already know the person well and we’re friends or something. There are some pretty conflicting messages out there regarding women having casual sex these days. Either we’re awful, evil whores with too high a body count or we just hate men and don’t want to sleep with them. I love sex, I love average looking dudes and dad bods. I’m just not stupid enough to get myself into a situation where I’m alone and naked with someone I barely know.

I rarely get insulted when I get hit on unless it’s over the top and immediately jumps to sexual innuendo or I’ve already said no and they just won’t accept no. Nuance exists.

“Attractive” is almost always subjective though, regardless of what amount of nonsense from the media you choose to believe. Conventionally attractive guys who show me they are assholes don’t get my attention. Sweet, caring, good men get my attention regardless of what they look like. In fact, the more perfect looking someone is the less interested I am in them as a rule. I find men and women operate on how they would behave when they’re feeling romantic or horny and not really how someone else …

Maybe I’m an exception but persistent a holes typically get blocked immediately by me while respectful men get much more attention from me. I think for a real connection you need to put in the effort and have patience regardless of your gender. It’s also easy to think that women should just use all that power we have but some of us are circumspect enough to realize that context and nuance matters. Some of us are also just as shy as a lot of men nowadays seem to be. I have a massive crush on a ve…
