No need to go into metaphysical depths for the mind of a sub. The reason for their submission isn't important. Their internal reasoning is quite wide and varied. I've got one sub that enjoys submission because it allows her to turn her brain off and just react. And I've got another sub that specifically gets off on the feeling of complete powerlessness and being "owned" by her master.

Depends on the D/s relationship and the type of purposeful restrictions and rules that have been put in place. Personally any D/s relationship I've been in has purely been in the bedroom and revolves solely around sex. But others expand it into an entire lifestyle in and outside the bedroom. To each their own. Something like asking for permission to purchase a scarf may have evolved out of a need from the sub to get control of her finances. She's outsourcing that purchase power to her Dom as a s…

She's asking permission because it gives her sollace and purpose. Subs actually actively seek this out and desire it deeply. It may not look normal to you but for a D/s relationship this is ...soothing to her. It goes against your natural instincts from what you've been taught growing up but it's not as bad as you think it is.

The only people I ever give dirty looks to at the gym are the ones that hog equipment or blatantly use it improperly. (when they should know better..ie..not the noobs)

Jesus the amount of idiocy in the comments here is ridiculous. You guys are debating whether or not a 11yr old is an "alpha" or not because he responded with "OK IDC"? You ignorant fuckwads. There is no "game" here. This is predator and prey.

When I was in university I took a sports studies course. We went and did a bunch of different sports. Fencing, swimming, volleyball, bowling... all manner of shit. The purpose was to familiarize ourselves not with the sports themselves but with the art of learning something new. Anyways, we went to boxing and the guy that was teaching us was tripping over his own ego hard. He was a former lawyer, and now was the local champion of his age group (30+ I think?). He set up a bell ringer interval tra…

The next phase would have been just to eat a little more and pudge up a little bit. After that claim that she had a miscarriage. As if you'd ask for proof? "Where's the blood clots and bits of fetus!" Not likely right? Easier still..claim she had the miscarriage at work...even better...yeah for sick days! After that try to emotionally blackmail you into loving her forever n ever n ever....since you both experienced this "tragic loss" together.

One of the most irritating quotes to enter into the general populace's vernacular is, "Happy wife, happy life." Those men that go through life with this mantra at the forefront of their thinking end up being browbeaten, nagged, and unhappy until such time as they divorce or end up in an early grave.

Word is the NHL is trying to hook-up immersive cameras and sound to try to port the experience to the masses via VR like Occulus Rift. Now that would be a killer app. Could you imagine? My first thought was...wherever that camera is positioned there would be privacy concerns for the people surrounding it; but the easy solution would be to put it in a spot where normally you couldn't sell a seat anyways. Such as where the zamboni makes it's entrance, the press box, or between the benches. Imagine…

Yeah..um...all of this really really REALLY smells of someone who's trolling. I highly doubt any of this is at all based in reality.

What's amusing to me is that the amount of time and effort that people have put into spewing hate towards a motivation poster. I mean seriously. It's posted in r/getmotivated ! The collective of nimrods hating on this poster seem to say, "I want to be motivated to get things done....but...I don't want a motivational poster to tell me to actually get things done." the fuck? Why the hell are you subscribing to r/getmotivated then!?

I'm not sure if that's correct. If I recall engagement rings were only a thing after debeers promoted it to be so. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engagement_ring

The easiest response to any doubter is a simple shrug and a utter lack of fucks given. Caring about what another person thinks about your decisions gives power to that person. If they are the negative in your otherwise positive life, why the fuck would you want to listen or care about anything they have to say? But hey; that's my opinion. Up to you how you handle it.

I'm happy to see a post to TRP that isn't someone griping about how shitty their life was before TRP, or how people that have not yet taken TRP behave so stupidily (even though they were once one of them....one of them...one of them...) Whatever; this is a shit comment, I'm just giving some props to the OP for not posting something that sounds whiny or bitchy. A++

Honestly it's not as complicated as that. It's simply a prof with a nearly useless subject who likes to hear their own opinion regurgitated back at them. It's unlikely to be your first class like this and definitely will not be the last. But try not to let it get you down. It'll be hard to go through an entire semester pretending to be one of the drones but think of it like you're Jane Goodall with the gorillas. Make a game of it.

Every class that has such an obvious bias is an "easy" class. You may not agree with some or all of the points made but it doesn't matter. Jump through their hoops and move on. Fighting against the tyranny of a professor hopped up on their own brand of crazy koolaide is a battle you will never EVER win. Smile. Nod. Move along to bigger and better things.

Lol same here. I've done a lot of martial arts so the flexibility wasn't an issue. But holding a pose that has you all twisted is humbling. 5min in I was sweating like a monsoon rain storm.

I choose to read this as satire and move on. These type of 'feminists' are a dime a dozen. A woman that is constantly seeking for something to be offended by. A shoulder in search of a chip to placed on it. Attention seeking, self pitying, pseudo intellectual malcontent who will go through life bitter, antagonistic, and worthless to the rest of society. I have already wasted far more time than I care to on her kind. Move along.....moving on...nothing to see here....move along.

What's amusing about this article is how the poorly thought out "blow back" from such a hard hitting news site as Jezebel fails to recognize the primary consumer of the romantic drivel comedies is....wait for it...women! Such double speak is just too funny.

Pre-wedding advice is nearly always utterly useless. My strategy was; ignore the words and view the actions. If you see a successful marriage with many years of true happiness see what's done right as it applies to you and yours. (In other words don't try to mold yourself after a marriage that you don't admire in the first place)

I was thinking this myself as well. It's a waste of energy to spend time trying to convince people who don't want to see things in a different way. What's important is that you take care of yourself. If they choose to, they'll investigate a different way of living; but that is never your responsibility. I think a lot of TRP enthusiasts make this mistake.

I disagree. I consider it a story of him transitioning from beta to alpha. He goes from mild mannered polite dreamer to rock star adventurer. At the start of the movie he can barely bring himself to even talk to the woman. By the end, she's coming after him. You can make the assumption that maybe they "live happily ever after" if you wish; but I choose to believe this is just the launching pad for a better life for Walter.
