I don’t actually think it’s intentional but it does occur. I think of the example of when a woman you’re in a relationship with or seeking advice from tells you that you don’t need to workout because she’s not attracted to “muscly” guys. When in the same day she will drool over some fit dude with his shirt off at the beach or on TV. That’s when you realize she does indeed find muscles attractive, just not on you. Had the same issue and I do this essentially, works like a charm. I acknowledge her with a wave, leave my headphones in, and go about my business. It'll take her .4 seconds to go looking for attention somewhere else.
