Is conciousness a prerequisite for bacterial life? Bacteria have no conciousness so it cannot be said to be a prerequisite for bacterial life. Why is it a prerequisite for human life? I disagree. There are many things separating me from bacteria that are not at all consciousness, like the fact that I have organs and limbs. Also, human beings are not the only organism that has consciousness. Do note, there is no consensus on what conciousness even is, culturally OR scientifically, so unless we define our terms, we are speaking past each other.

A cancer cell is just a cell that doesn't stop dividing. It isn't a form of infection. Cancer cells are human cells. Your sperm has half of the DNA necessary for the manifestation of human life. A sperm cell is a type of cell, so it can be said to be alive, as in having life, but I wouldn't call a sperm cell itself "a human life" as I would a fertilized egg. I don't think masterbation is murder.
