I don’t know why men assume that women are obsessed with male looks. They are obsessed with their looks and how you make them feel.

ASPD: Preoccupation with their own needs without empathetic regard. HPD: Preoccupation with their physical appearance and outward expression to achieve their own needs. BPD: Preoccupation with attachment and being loved by external sources to achieve their own needs. NPD: Preoccupation with their own self-worth and it’s correlation to efficacy so to allow themselves to fulfill their own needs.

I originally thought she had Borderline Personality Disorder and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was comorbidity that kinda escalates it. I still find it interesting that doctors are using terminology and criteria not accepted by the DSM, but whatever I guess.

Greatest lesson. Thank you for the reminder.

Yes please! Because what I’ve been told fits her quite well, and I’m wondering how a made up (if that’s what you’re saying) illness could fit a real person. I’m also curious what sources you have that are saying that layman’s terms coined by Hollywood better describe people with empathy. antisocial and attachment issues. Aliases, fake identities, pervasive lying, ignoring people’s rights and truly not giving a shit, severe aggression, and it’s always to get something. I have watched this woman p…

What country are you in? Because this is not the same information that I have ever been given. Great insights. Unfortunately sociopathy and psychopathy are not actual medical terms, and really are slang for Anti-social behavior. I wonder if you are conflating Cluster B with ASPD. Cluster B Personality disorders include Borderline, Narcissistic, Histrionic and AntiSocial. They are all distinctly different personality disorders but at the surface look very similar. Maybe you should check out these…

I have been laughed at it the face, because apparently it isn’t the same since she was a female. The moment some people find out we are both women they suddenly take back any compassion. It’s startling. They think I must have broke her and deserved the violence. Because surely women are only violent when victimized...right? Eh, no. Women can be violent as hell, especially those with issues understanding their gender role. “So why are you divorcing her?” “For a lot of reasons, but mainly because …

I what way does it not sound like ASPD?

When did I say I wasn’t responsible for getting married? I said it wasn’t my idea and never thought I wanted to get married. I thought I wanted to spend the rest of my life with someone...and marriage was important to them so I decided to be open minded. Yeah, a lot of it was based on fear because I was in an abuse relationship. Whether you wanna give me shit for saying it or not. They put on a show. I was manipulated. I’m not the first person it has happened to, and you shouldn’t shame someone …

No she didn’t. You are correct then that I am to blame for every issue that came from our marriage. I deserve all the broken bones and the diseases she gave me from fucking the whole town. Would you by any chance feel any different if I was a male and my wife did these things? Or is it suddenly different? I’m curious. Actually wait...I don’t know what the point of this derailing is anyway. The OP is asking if marriage is worth it for men, I responded with my experience saying that while not a ma…

The issue here as I see it is that both opinions are based off extremes. It sort of ruins the main point, because you’re looking at specific examples instead of the whole. There are some other issues that I see (with both arguments). Being “selfless” is a really tall order that no one can achieve, so saying that is an expectation sort of sets people up for failure and breeds resentment in everyone. Would you say that putting your partner’s needs before yours is important? Putting conditions on m…

But why do you have to be married to have all those things? What would you lose if you didn’t marry? What issues that marriage cause could you happily avoid?

So she’s actually was diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder early in our marriage. First off, we met in a support group (which she was there really just to find victims), which later on I would find out she began stalking me at that time. Multiple affairs and lives, all the while pretending to work full time and came home every night. I worked two jobs but she would expect me to keep the house OCD clean while she did very little (only when it got out of control and then it was to be hel…

Actually yes, that’s exactly what they were concerned about. They were worried that their homophobic parents would have the right of say in an accident. They could pull the plug without their child’s partner consenting or even knowing. There are endless reasons. College Age kids, especially those politically active, tend to look to the future, albeit idolized. They care about their futures and their peer’s futures too.

I think you and I fundamentally value different things. That’s okay. Agree to disagree, on my end.

But once your children are grown? It works in the society that existed in the 1950s and in my opinion that’s about it

I don’t understand why starting a family and raising children together means you have to spent the rest of your life together. I have no issue with monogamy but a lot of times the pressure to be compatible with the same person for 50+ years seems unreasonable to me.

Well the idea is that people get to decide for themselves. It really needed to happen on a federal level because marriage/divorce are done by two very separate legal systems. Since federal law didn’t allow same-sex marriage when trying to divorce in a state that had legalized it, you straight up were stuck in the marriage. You can’t divorce what the federal system doesn’t recognize as legitimate marriage. That’s why it got pushed (one reason) on the federal level. Plenty of gays do want to get m…

Nope. She’s the butch. Edit: But you are correct, beyond the fact that she was terribly violent she pretty much fit the mold for the shttiest type of woman out there. Con artist, I swear.

You actually know nothing about the situation. I definitely have my faults but again you don’t know the circumstances or what happened. Thanks!

That’s a Pandora’s box, trust me. Mainly though I have ascertained it was because I was in the middle of a lawsuit. I got conned.

Well I am in the middle of a divorce and we’re lesbian so idk exactly how my experience would apply. I’m just jaded about marriage and don’t think it’s brilliant idea for anyone. It causes more harm than good. (Marriage was not my idea btw).

Everything they try and pin on women are just shitty human behaviors.

There is sort of this presumption that women want to have the most insane, crazy sexual experiences secretly and therefore being submissive means they don’t fight what they want and say no like a good girl who stifles her lustful whore-ish qualities to serve the right partner one day and respect her. That of course is horse-shyt but I think that is where the disconnect comes from.

Many of these male stereotypes that you claim women “respect” and ignore the “good guys” for also tend to be manipulative guys. Most people that put that much effort into their physical appearance, be it male or female, have got some issues and are trying to cover up insecurities whether they are valid or not. Super pushy “smooth” guys are really good at telling women what they want to hear, that’s not the chick’s fault that a douche is conning her by playing with her emotions. I don’t understan…

Am I super unattractive? Because I feel I am at least attractive, if not a little above average, (more-so when younger granted), but I am nothing like what you describe. And yeah I’ve been pounded by “muscle bro’s”, and honestly just don’t have a taste for them. Your thinking is blinded by resentment and entitlement.
