I'm going to respond to this properly when I can (I'm waiting on a phone call) but I respect it when people reject me and I move on. Generally though, I haven't had that problem, I usually just take asking them out to be an escalation of the already existing dynamic we've established with reciprocal flirting. I'll go into specifics when I come back to this, sorry for lack of detail in the meantime.

I thought I was, sorry. The way you reacted gave me the impression you were only criticizing what I had said and not actually asking for earnest advice. Work on your sense of confidence in yourself and your masculinity. Crying does not make you any less of a man. Look inward and ask yourself why you feel it does. Is it because you've been told that by others? Is it about societal expectations? Do you surround yourself with people who tell you that you are lesser if you have natural human emotion…

Crying isn't unmanly. It's something every healthy human being does. Women tend to think men who cry are much more secure in their masculinity. If your entire identity as a man falls away just because you cry sometimes, that's more about your sense of fragility than anything else.

I think you need to learn how to flirt. If you're this afraid of a woman saying no just because you treat her like a human being who is capable of saying no... that's a You Problem.

A healthy romantic relationship means you need to be friends with them too. I'd definitely not put it all on her alone because that could stress her out, but if you're open about your feelings and willing to let your guard down it can be very endearing. Developing trust is a necessity.

It does, but women aren't really slot machines you put kindness into and sex comes out. You have to accept that sometimes you'll connect with a woman on a friend level and that's okay. Worst case scenario you have an attractive friend. Or a friendly conversation once with an attractive person. You learn how to actually flirt. If you want an actual connection with another human being (even just on a one-time basis) instead of just using sex to feel better about yourself, it's necessary to underst…

I've been living with my girlfriend for 5 years.

You clearly aren't here to listen or try and understand where I'm coming from, so I see no use in explaining to you the basics of how flirting works and nonverbal communication cues. I only hope I was right about you not having relationships with women, considering how you view them. I've known (and dated tbh) far too many women who have been fucked over by people who treated them this way.

You literally couldn't be more wrong. Giving a woman an out doesn't make it seem like you're less interested. It makes a woman feel more safe. Trust me, if the prospect is on the table at all, she knows you're interested. You don't have to try and lead her like she's a child. The rest of what you've said just sounds dangerously victim blaming. Unless someone makes it abundantly clear, without coercion, that they are interested, you haven't actually gotten consent. I'm not saying it's necessarily…

You can do both at the same time. That's what a date is for. Ask her what kind of stuff she likes to do. Maybe she's into theatre, maybe she likes festivals, maybe she likes poetry. Ask her if she'd be down to do something like that with you. Respect it if she says no and leave it at that. If you make sure she's totally comfortable saying no, she might even explain why so you know how to approach these situations in the future. There are ways to flirt that give you the opportunity in advance to …

No. You use words like a grown up. You ask consent.

Just because you are that way, and you view other people that way, does not make it true. You're just gross.

You could also just tell her you're interested. Friendship is a valid end destination for a lot of people, and unless you say what you're interested in, she probably isn't going to know. It's weird to want to try and make it harder for women to say no or have a way out. "Do you want to do this" is much more respectful and comfortable for her than "let's do this" because it gives her an out, and if she says yes, you know she actually is interested. And men don't only rape women "in tribal times" …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
