Absolutely. If he had hit those girls with any significant power they would have been knocked out or concussed into oblivion. It was a great example of someone using the minimum amount of force in a situation.

Speaking as a 37 year old guy who got divorced ... I wish I had learned all of these lessons prior to getting married. I either wouldn't have ended up getting married or I'd still be married. No one respects a push over. Oh and now? Couldn't be happier.

A nice guy would set up a date like this because he doesn't want to pressure a girl: "Hey do you maybe wanna grab a movie some time?" A confident guy: "Hey Janelle, let's see that new Clooney flick The Ides of March Thursday night at 7." (For the record a movie date is a terrible idea for beginning dates because you can't talk). I don't want to be a shill but look up "The System" from Doc Love. It talks about how to break yourself out of nice guy / chump behavior and start acting like a confiden…

I think I used to fall into the "chump" category rather than a nice guy. A guy who acts in a kind manner and gets taken advantage of because he's too afraid to get a backbone and stand up for himself. The Doc Love book was a huge revelation for me in acting in a confident manner and no longer accepting behaviour that was unacceptable. (From myself or someone I was dating, or interested in). One of the best things I took away was the "bottom line" principle. Stop making excuses for bad behavior (…

Were his actions kind of dumb? Yes. I disagree. He made a pass at her and she declined. It isn't any more complex than that. Happens millions of times a day but because she has a blog this is somehow sensationalist news. Dawkins was right and everyone needs to get over themselves.

What does help to avoid making someone uncomfortable (as well as avoiding the label of potential rapist): not inviting people to a hotel room for "coffee" at 4am upon leaving a bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cycXuYzmzNg Maybe she should grow thicker skin.

That's not calling her experience "potential sexual assault." She brought up something separate and related it to herself in that she said it was also dismissed by Dawkins by being compared to women mutilated in foreign countries (although I don't agree with her on this, that wasn't Dawkins' point). She related sexual assault and women having to be fearful of sexual assault to her experience in the elevator. Whether it was direct or indirect the implication was clear and incredibly sexist. Dawki…

What is unreasonable is calling it "potential sexual assault," which Rebecca Watson did not do. Except she does It also negatively affects the women who are nervous about being in similar situations. Some of them have been raped or otherwise sexually assaulted, and some just don’t want to be put in that position. Edit: also this So to have my concerns – and more so the concerns of other women who have survived rape and sexual assault – dismissed thanks to a rich white man comparing them to the p…

Moderators make these decisions all the time, you just happened to have noticed this one. We noticed it and it became such an issue because it's opposite behavior from the previous videos that were submitted (from the same guys) and received lots of discussion and upvotes. Almost all the discussion in those threads was positive and although I disagreed with the content of the wheelchair video as junkieman pointed out it would have driven at least a positive discussion that people with disabiliti…

Your judgement is flawed and I had hoped you would realize it by stepping back and seeing that the videos are in keeping with previous submissions to the subreddit. If at some point your conduct matures I'll consider coming back to r/seduction but I can't be a part of a subreddit that moderates like this.

Doc Love talks about this in his books. There's confidence and self confidence. Confidence is a value others attribute to you. Self confidence is your internal self worth. If you have high self worth you will be self confident. Self confidence will come off as confidence to others. This is why confidence is not necessarily something you can fake, and why others in r/seduction talk so much about working on your "internal game" first. If you can get right in your own head / frame you're much more …

Yeah I disagree with your "beta" assessment. That's the general labelling that seems to get applied to "nice guys". Take the worst case scenario of something and then apply it to nice guy to display it in the worst possible way. Social altruism (or what I'm referring to as a nice guy) teaches you that you're nice because that's what society expects of you. Not because you're trying to get people to like you or have an alterior motive. If you go around being "nice" to everyone, women are going to…

I think you're boiling it down to the most negative connotation of nice guy and alpha. Nice guy: Unselfish, thoughtful, giving, waits their turn to speak, not boastful or loud, patient. That's a broad generalization and I'm sure someone can add more. Alpha: Does what's in his best interests, isn't a pushover, exhibits confidence, is aggressive and speaks out, not afraid to confront someone or call them out. As an example with niceness: A nice guy is asked by a girl to help her move. He says yes …

36/M here. Divorce. Nothing in your life will emotionally prepare you for a divorce. I remember a good friend of mine thinking he had a good handle on it until he went through a divorce himself. Afterwards he said to me that no one could possibly understand the emotional devastation unless they went through it themselves. That was followed by reading Doc Love's book and changing my life for the better.

It's all in the delivery. When I was younger (curiously more alpha but worse in relationships) I can recall being at a wedding and I was unbelievably bored. There was this super cute girl sitting across from me and I made maybe a minute of conversation before dropping the line: "This is boring. Let's go make out." I think it came from a deep level of just not giving a fuck and she totally went for it.

This movie is why there's generations of AFC men. It perpetuates the notion that you should take back your cheating ex-wife, when in fact you should move on and learn your lesson. It perpetuates the notion that if you're an AFC, as opposed to a PUA, you'll somehow succeed. It's shit like this Hollywood.

Now I'm back at university, and I've texted her to come round mine the last couple of days. She didn't come yesterday because it was a friends birthday, and she didnt come the day before because she was having a small party in her dorms for another friend. Well this is my take: She was communicating her comfort level and you just disregarded it. If you're just interested in just "fucking" this chick then by all means continue on and disregard the rest of my advice. You tried to press things sexually and she made it clear she wasn't comfortable. Yes. It shows you're too interested, lack self control, and are too focused on your interest level instead of her interest level. I'll answer your question with another question. What harm does it do if you wait another day or two to calm down and then ask her?

Mystery is good. Why do you feel you have to give an answer to every question you're asked? Fuck I have fun with this stuff all the time. I'm older but I look like I'm in my mid 20s so sometimes I'll switch it around. "Man it's weird because I look like I'm in my mid 20s right?", her "Yeah you do.", "The weird thing is I'm only 19." her "No way!" Have fun with it. So it's a good video (I upvoted and bookmarked) and I'll take the information to heart but as a guy who's just a total disaster when he approaches women I have this feedback to give: Getting blown out all the time makes me less likely to approach women, not more likely. Negative reinforcement is rarely a strong motivator (certainly not for me anyway). How much would it improve your game if you approached women knowing they really want to meet you? Doesn't work for me. The heart of the issue is t…

We were very close for about a month, lots of sex and spent a lot of time together. Too available, and not a challenge. You want this girl to be working for time with you. If you're a successful cool guy, you're busy with hobbies and friends. but when I called her today and asked her what's up she said she was at her ex's house. "Oh. Right, have fun. Bye." I look at negs like this (adapted from a book by Doc Love). An HB8 gets compliments all the time. All the time. If you are talking with her and start complimenting her, you're just like every single AFC. But if you say to her "wow, it takes a lot of confidence to wear a sweater like that", you've set yourself out from the crowd. You've got her thinking, she's on the defensive, and she'll be verbally sparring with you. Coming in and being typical will get you typical results.

This video ... is fucking fantastic. "I would like to take you out, would that be cool?" "Uh I have a boyfriend." "It's cool just give me your number." "Okay." Fuck ... my mind. It's just exploded. I realized at the 3:10 mark he's wearing a forever alone t-shirt.

At this point, I felt it necessary because we work together to set some terms for the relationship, and I mention that I'm seeing other people. I was worried that, being religious, she was going to start seeing us as boyfriend/girlfriend (exclusive) if we went any further. I think this was a mistake. Because while we were playing with gi joes she was honing her social-fu black belt. This is where self control comes into play. If I know a girl is intentionally messaging me, and then not responding to jerk with me, I'll apply the "5" rule. I'll take the time between the point where she last responded and currently responded and multiply it by 5 before I send another text. The longer you wait to text her back, the more interested she is in you, not less. It seems counter intuitive but when you …

As soon as I became "willing" to become emotionally available to them, their desire for me stopped. No, you became available aka not a challenge. As soon as you became less of a challenge their interest level dropped. When I was emotionally unavailable and didn't act like I wanted them, they wanted me. You nailed it here. It has nothing to do with being emotionally "available", it has to do with being a challenge. Confidence and challenge go hand in hand, and that's the key.

I believe the lesson of "just start a conversation with everyone" has started to sink in for me. See the trick is not to just talk to every hot girl, it's to talk to everyone. If you're accustomed to starting conversation you're not nervous because it's "just another girl". The advantage is that you're relaxed and natural. I'm reminded of a lesson in sales, where a guy leaning against a counter will never be approached by a client. But if you walk in a hurry like you're busy or have somewhere to…
