18-34 is a massive age range. Finding another source from March 2024 polled 70% iOS main users by just dropping the range to 18-29. https://www.statista.com/forecasts/911113/smartphone-os-share-by-age-group-in-the-us Both sources mention that iOS user share increases as age decreases. So yes my 35+ comment was a little high, but if you are Gen Z it is certainly a factor. 90% of teens in the US are iphone users. 60% of Koreans in their 20s are on iPhone, and 80% of Japanese teens are on iPhone. O…

The fact of reality is that nobody cares if you have an android, they care if you do not have iMessage which limits your ability to interact in group chats or other features. Anyone saying no is in either very nerdy / unconventional circles or over the age of 35. I have not met someone with a normal social life / circle who has an android, who lives in the US, in probably 10+ years.

But none of them will ever be verified and the arguments will continue forever. It’s like watching people debate politics except I have no side and see points on both sides, yet the people are just as heated

This sub is like a little zoo that I can watch and observe for fun. Nothing talked about here will have any affect in the real world and it’s fun to watch people argue over abstract concepts and wild theories with just anecdotes

“status” or career is irrelevant at a bar or party where nobody knows each other. If you are strictly talking about online dating or instagram courting then I agree.

For the most part I just try and find common ground on something in their profile. If i can’t find anything in there then I usually get bored or give up, or ask them out as soon as possible. You’re gonna get ghosted sometimes no matter what you send but trying to find something specific about them is the highest percentage play imo

Is this about me? I remember me having conversation about dating apps on here with someone. The reason I don’t go on dates infinitely are They’re a lot of work, mentally The appeal of new girls regularly has lost its value. I would rather find one really attractive, chill FWB then 10 new middle of the road girls weekly. I’m not looking to date right now but that is the eventual end goal, right now i’m just trying to have fun Also I usually see a FWB way more than 12 times. Usually they last for …

I don’t really vette before, i think it’s just escalation during the date + maybe some help from the drinks. I almost never make an implications to come over or have them over (from what i remember), it’s usually just good conversation for a couple hours and I can usually tell if they don’t want the night to end. Basically focus on being engaged in the date and escalating through body language like eye contact and positioning. I don’t really have an end goal in mind when I go in, which maybe mak…

Never a dinner on the first one for me, always drinks. Less money and lower stakes. And I would say the close rate after that is probably like 90-95%. Can count on my hand the number of times i haven’t

I am one I think. For context i have like 1300 pending tinder likes and if I unpause my Hinge I probably average around 50-100 likes a week. My profile is in my history (changed since then but you’ll get an idea). Dating apps work better for me than in real life interactions. The girls ill match with are in a higher league than those I would find in my local bar on a weekend.

This is a waste of time because you wholeheartedly agree with the other number because its supports your worldview but here goes A = Average Social Group B = Average physical traits P(B), P(A) = 0.50 ( Probability of any individual event will always be 0.5) P(A|B) = 0.9 (probability of you having an average social group GIVEN that you have average physical traits) P(A∩B) = P(B) * P(A|B) P(A∩B) = 0.45 45% chance of both compared to 25% chance if they are independent. What do you want, a phony calculation with made of probabilities for each trait ? I can tell you that the traits being dependent is extremely statistically significant
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 02:32 PM

Yes it means it’s not 1.5% probabibility. Find people who are visually average and you will find that they are mostly average in other areas as well

Both of you are assuming each property is an independent event, when it’s more likely that people who have average income have an average apartment with average appearance etc. The correlation between attractiveness, height, social group, and income is positively correlated

Yes, depending on the type and how frequently. Opiates or meth is a no though instantly.

I have auto mod all over me and I have no idea what we’re suppose to discuss if not these topics lol
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 10:26 AM

Makes sense, but at what points do we reach the black pill zones where you’re either doomed (or gifted) regardless of attractiveness or personality. Will the guy you describe at 5’8 still mog? 5’6? what about a dud at 6’3?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 10:05 AM

I think the boring take is society as a whole pressure this behavior, men and women. Theres definitely merit to when guys say that women are turned off by displays of emotion
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 09:57 AM

Can we discuss the ratio or value of height vs facial attractiveness? People on here always talk in extremes, like the 5’4 guy who is invisible or the 6’5 guy who slays because he’s tall, but never the middle 50%. Will a 5’10 guy whose is facially more attractive then a 6’1 man fair better than him ? Is it just women’s preferences? What’s the cutoff for “tall” here

So if you’re none of those things then being toxically masculine works? Or is it doomed? I can’t provide anecdotal evidence for that but I just don’t see a situation where being toxically masculine would help when being masculine would not. It’s either the case where both are effective or neither work because you’re doomed

I have basically the same traits as your example (but i think above average appearance) but being just masculine without the toxic works well for me. I guess we’ll agree to disagree
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 09:00 AM
2

I agree, my argument is that for the men it can benefit, masculine > toxic masculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 06:17 AM
7

Can’t that be used for every trait? If an ugly guy is toxically masculine he will be told he’s “compensating” or just being a douchbag. For the types you listed, I think women are attracted to the power and alphaness of the characters. I don’t think if you had a women choose between an Alpha criminal and the exact same person who is not a criminal, that they would choose the criminal.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 05:43 AM
7

I disagree, I think what women want isn’t “toxic masculinity” but just “masculinity”. I think people here act like a simp around women, who are super turned off by this, and then the guys turn around and think they must be TOXIC. You can care for her feelings and be a nice person while also being masculine, this is the line you have to find. I think i’ve found this balance and it will make women obsessed with you, literally
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 04:46 AM

I feel I have a different mindset then most guys. I’ll fine with my girl going clubbing without me and hanging out with friends. If she’s the type of person to cheat on my because some random guy approached her in a club, i wouldn’t want her anyways. I think i’m more secure than most guys in this aspect, but the logic is this. If you’re scared that your girl will leave you or cheat on with some random in the club, why are you still together? In her mind, and in my mind, no other girl/guy is bett…

I’m not sure, but all i know is that american movies are the most watched on earth, and when im in foreign countries people say I look like random white actors that i look nothing like
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/23 02:59 AM

No because most of the media is made in the US and all the most famous people, shows, celebrities, movies are mainly white people. It’s why the most “attractive” races for women are white and black men (movie celebrities and sports celebrities are mainly those two)

This timeline is different if you are in highly educated dense cities where woman and men get married and have kids later in life. If you’re in the midwest where people get married at 23 then I agree

300k is not even close to the level of wealth this guy is describing. This is upwards of 1M/yr or 50mm net worth where hotels, flights, club prices don’t matter. 300-600k is like every virgin tech nerd in california

The sex has to be good. Just the act of having whatever sex is not enough to keep a man around unless they’re desperate
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 02:27 PM

Not that I agree with them, but their whole schtik is advocating for being with multiple women at once and one sided open relationships, then marrying a faithful virgin. so it makes sense they’re not in a relationship.

People on reddit and people who comment on the internet are more likely to be introverts. If we took the opinions of reddit and tiktok comments as the whole world, we would assume everyone is shy gamers who don’t like extroverts and want to stay inside. Most people assume that people don’t want to be talked to but have never actually tried it. I’m introverted as well but have no issues talking to random people at bars or other

I agree with you that there was probably less opportunity to become isolated through the internet. However, I think those more prone to being awkward would find other means to do so. I don’t think socializing with new people is as demonized as people say it is here. A couple tiktok’s of girls or girls on reddit saying they don’t want to be talked to is not representative of the actual pop.

Calls out the straw man but doesn’t state the actual argument. The short answer is No. dating would be the same. If you don’t fair well now, you wouldn’t fair well then.

People with social anxiety who don’t go outside or have friends think they magically would fair better in previous times. You would still have to talk to the opposite sex. They would be in the same position, except they wouldn’t have the internet or OLD to interact with anyone at all

You listed a lot of things that have nothing to do with general intelligence (The only intelligence people care about or study. Nobody gives af about emotional intelligence or sOcIaL intelligence). Obviously you can be smart and not know how to file taxes because you’re in immigrant and never learned. Emotions have nothing to do with intelligence. I’m sure it’s difficult and i don’t deny that. But I feel like you would have greater success IRL then you would if you listed your height on apps and tried there (assuming you are decent socially)
