That is a fair observation. There are also others who agree with you. Looking at this thread and the other, there are also people who think it was clearly self defense. I’m torn between. My take is that this is neither clean self defense nor is it clear cut premeditated murder with the info we know. Clearly the father got very angered by the killer coming out with a rifle. I can easily see a jury making the determination that it was provocation. Only a jury can decide. I hope the killer gets charged with manslaughter or murder and let the jury decide, with a preference toward the former, as it is more likely to convict and fit the series of events.
