Indeed. An alternative conclusion from this data is that police will only see a man as a victim if there is cause to arrest the woman. This research does not show that the input distribution is a good sample. Admittedly, this is quite hard to control for as there simply is no data outside this, but it makes any findings questionable.

I honestly don't think the police are the issue here. The law shouldn't depend on it not being enforced. Having laws essentially fining homelessness is the issue.

A guy in the comments seems to suggest that the two boys are being tried as adults, while the girl is tried as a juvenile. I don't know when the cutoff is, but the girl is younger than the youngest guy, and this would IMO be a perfectly valid reason for this.

I don't know what exactly transpired. If we were in court here, I'd agree with you that this isn't sufficient evidence and boils down to mere conjecture. We are not in court. We are individuals forming an opinion, and I think I have given sufficient justification for mine. I commend your pursuit of evidence. I do however, think that you set the bar far too high for practical purposes.

No, we don't have proof of the intentions of UCL (and I fail to see how you could hope to know them). However they have not denied pressuring Tim Hunt to resign, and have made clear they do not want him back. As to whether or not Tim Hunt accepting to resign was agreeing with UCL, I don't quite agree. But more importantly, I don't see why it should matter. Eh. Statistically speaking, very stupid people are more likely to be male. For the same reason that very intelligent people are more likely to be male. Intelligence has greater variance for males than females. Taking that into account, this isn't too unreasonable a statement. After all, we are also more likely to imagine scientists to be male.

Looking through your past posts, I can't help but get the impression you are currently the sole person at your university supporting this society. At my university any aspiring society must have 20 members before being registered. Even if your student union has no such policy, I don't think it's far-fetched to say that a lack of members may be the reason for rejection, rather than ideological bias. Edit: spelling
