My apologies, I was prepared for an attack, not a discussion. I would like to point out the missing detail of "he was doing an artistic performance and choosing not to let his consent/non-consent be known" in your situation with the roles reversed. Using the hypothetical scenario depicted and not including the self induced "artistic performance" BS that stifles the ability convey consent/non-consent, it would be rape in my opinion. Using the hypothetical scenario depicted and including the self …

I'm not interested in a debate with you about this of you are going throw impossible situations at me to lead me into a discussion then scrutinize everything I say because it doesn't fit the scenario you laid out. Lets discuss something that might actually happen. What is your opinion on a woman who consents to sex after a night of drinking, sobers up the next morning, realizes what happened, then accuses the man of rape because she was drunk at the time?

Who are you asking for clarification from?

Sorry if you don't like my opinion, but this is pure bullshit, and it doesn't help the Mens rights cause.

I'm willing to bet if some guy bent him over a chair and forced him to have sex he would put up some form of resistance and not claim some artistic performance bullshit. I think he got caught and is using this as a lame excuse to avoid getting in more trouble.

Person being "raped" was not restrained and had the ability to resist unwanted advances but chose not to for artistic reasons. Dumbass hiding behind "artistic performance" and using the word rape as a catalyst to get attention.

Maybe I'm missing something here. He is not restrained and is in a self induced silence, claiming he was raped and did nothing to stop the person attacking him. That doesn't sound like rape. Sounds like he had the ability to fend off unwanted advances from this person but chose not to. Kinda dilutes the meaning of the word rape. edit: apparently I'm not the only one.

Not the first time this type of thing happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRDchnY1pfU

I recall another event with Tim and Faith where a woman actually fondled Tim. Faith stopped the show and verbally berated the woman in front of the entire audience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRDchnY1pfU

But her feelings were hurt and she was embarrassed. She can't be held accountable for her own actions so somebody must pay for that.

I think it shows restraint on his part for slapping her or pushing her away with an open hand. If it was a closed fist I think things would be different.

I know one person who will tell the alumni association where to go when they come asking for money.

I agree with your opinion that my child support payments should not be used to raise her income. However, I have no control over how she uses the child support. All I can do is observe and report any problems with my daughter to the courts.

That would cause a long drawn out court battle as she would feel threatened by the thought of losing her daughter. Been down that road before.

Its not that she can't provide a safe place for our daughter. She is tired of renting and throwing money away not seeing a return. She spoke with an accountant and he recommended looking into an increase in child support to raise her monthly income. It would be faster than going to school or getting a better job. She ran the idea by me and I brought it up here.

I have asked her to look into college or bettering herself so she could get a higher paying job. I can't force her to do something she doesn't want to do. Education has been an ongoing discussion for the last 8-9 years. She is obstinate about it.

I doubt that will happen. I'd rather not have to change support and work out a way to take my daughter more to offset the change. We shall see what the lawyer says on Friday.

Part of the deal we have is any amendments to the parenting plan or child support is done through the divorce store and paid 50/50. This goes away the moment one of us involves a lawyer to defend what we want. Lawyers are not cheap and if we can settle these things without involving them that is what we try to do.

We live on opposite sides of the city. I would take her to babysit if I could, but, I work 10hr days. She has physical custody with split legal custody between the both of us. I have her just about every weekend except for mothers day and moms birthday. I do this intentionally so I can maximize my time with my daughter and so she can work the weekends.

Sadly she lives and goes to school 35 miles across town. Otherwise this would be ideal. Thanks for the idea though.

I agree with the child support being used as alimony bit. Which is why I asked. The biggest change is my raise and the ability to have my daughter more weekends each year. The insurance has always been my responsibility and paying for the majority of everything keeps the collectors from calling when she "forgets" to make a payment. School stuff started getting big this year and is likely to need review.

To see if anybody else has been in this situation and would be willing to share their experience. I can't be the only one who has had his ex want to raise child support just to afford a house or increase their monthly income.

I understand your point, I don't want to risk losing these "idea discussions" because all of a sudden there is a recording of what took place. I find it to be a hindrance to the discussion process, especially when one thinks the recording might be used against them.

My concern about taking more jobs to cover the bills is directly related to my daughter. She will spend more time at a sitters house while Mom works the 2nd job. I would rather Mom spend the evenings with her and not need two jobs. I know there is sacrifice, I don't want our daughter at a sitters 2-3 nights a week because of this.

Most discussions of this sort are "let me run this idea by you and get your opinion" so no recording is done. When we start talking about it seriously it is all done via email. I am expecting to get an email from her detailing her plans if she intends to move forward with this.

It's not that I can't/won't make the payments. I'm angry at the decision to revise our agreement based on her accountants recommendation. It costs us money every time we amend these documents with the courts. The parenting plan is $500 if we don't use lawyers and just submit the paperwork to the courts. The last time we did child support amendments it cost over $1k and even then the courts screwed up and were pulling double the agreed upon amount each month. It took 3 months to fix that and they…

She lives in an apt and is tired of "throwing money away" at renting and never seeing a return. She wants a 3bed 2 bath house with a yard and a garage in our daughters school district. The problem is she can't afford most houses in that area. I worry that she will be house poor and have to take more jobs to cover the bills. In some ways it would be a step up from an apt, but at what cost.

His first dates should be with you. Teach him how to treat a real woman -- and how he should be treated by one in return. I'm kinda iffy about this one.

How much child support do you pay a month?

This is a time when a lawyer should've been present. Worth every penny to put this cow in her place. Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Wow, take a parenting class, but stop being a concerned parent.
