Yes it's true that calculus and analysis were developed rather recently. They were invaluable to understanding physics, whether it be mechanics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetism. But they still depended on algebra to form the rules for transforming and relating functions. Don't discredit the history of mathematics just because some really applicable stuff was discovered in Europe.

Computers are better at planning things that are predictable and deterministic: airport are not those things. An algorithm could perform as well as a human for the majority of cases of routing traffic (do you think people manually assign gates to aircraft?), but I would guess that they cannot prove that it will respond correctly and in a timely manner when conditions change. Say a plane is delayed 5 minutes at the gate, how should the algorithm respond? Will it need to recalculate the routes for…

It sure could be done, but no one would understand how or why it works. Symmetric with AWALT.

I think you're thinking of the wrong novel. 1984 has more of the thought suppression going in.

I completely agree and it is so hard to get women to understand that they will not turn into bodybuilders from lifting weights. Even men have trouble putting on muscle mass and we have it much easier than women. Everyone can benefit from weight training, it makes your everyday physical tasks easier and it builds your confidence when you lift more than you could before.

It does, maybe it should be analyzed more. A relationship is not necessarily happiness-producing or unhappiness-producing. That is, it is not a binary relationship. This decision matrix should better express it. State Friends Not Friends Produces Happiness Maintain Maintain Doesn't Produce Happiness Maintain but don't actively pursue it N/A Actively consumes happiness End Enemy

If you're going to the gym, please don't be the stereotypical Indian gym-goer. There are proven workout routines that take the guesswork out of the gym. Use this and this as a place to start.

I would disagree, more variables simply introduces more complexity. Less variables with more importance would make an analysis easier to execute.

Taboo is what we should accurately describe it as. TRP is a taboo subject that people don't like to talk about but a few know it's the most accurate way to understand the society we live in.

It's a hard question to answer as the definition of 'being a man' varies from culture to culture, but I would look to my male role models to help define it: Honesty. Being up front with women about sex is only part of the honesty characteristic. A man must be honest in word and action with others and himself, otherwise he will experience the same cognitive dissonance that we criticize betas about (why does my oneitis only sleep with jerks, waaaah). Being honest with yourself is especially import…

I'm down voting you because this is a complaint without any basis. This is exactly the dramatic statement that Fox news would publish in order to incite fear in people for nebulous reasons.

Yea that really was admirable. I'm wondering if the girl is just that strong or that guy couldn't recover.

I don't know if the root cause is a muscular imbalance, but working out undoubtedly helped my posture. After a week or 2 of deadlifting, slouching became uncomfortable.

I think the more accurate model is a Production Possibility Curve/Frontier. Most people think there are trade offs in life (and there are) between looks and talent. For the people who have both, they've worked tremendously hard to expand their PPC.

I think what he's trying to say is that being successful is going to make you more attractive to women, regardless of whether you want it to or not.

Those short terms gains are the best feeling, specially when clothes suddenly fit better on you.

It might be hard but it's not resistant to chemical attacks like gold is. Shit, you can literally burn diamonds and people think they last forever. Fucking non-metals are plebeian materials for showing affection.

Manning up doesn't mean accepting the uncomfortable position he's found himself in just because others want him to. Manning up means accepting the uncomfortable position he's found himself in because he chooses to do that because it benefits him. I would dump this slut anyway.

I can only comment on a promise ring as that's what I have experience with. My LTR girlfriend is brasilian and her reason for wanting a promise ring (on both of us) is to signal other people that we're taken. I thought it was pretty dumb in the beginning but now I think it's just a simple commitment mechanism and there's no harm in doing it. That being said, she's kind of crazy in that she doesn't want me to have any girl friends besides her. She thinks there's no point to have girl friends as a…

DNA is not a parasitic organism, just a long molecule. If anything I would change that to the continuation of the most successful organism, where (for humans) success is who has more children and the ability to raise those children to also be successful.

100% agree. Humans aren't completely rational beings.
