Advice so the soon to be ex wife birthday is Saturday. I keep on going back and forth of getting her something or not getting her something. What do you guys think? What would your reason be? Because you want to or because you feel obligated bc you always used to get her something. Your marriage is over and now it’s just down to business. I’m sure she will get plenty from her new boyfriend. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/03/23 08:17 AM
Really struggling with interactionsMy ex did the same thing to me. I ignored her and didn’t acknowledge what she was saying. She eventually stopped. Show her you have moved on and the 3 years has made you stronger (even if you don’t feel it, make her believe it) this also is good for your kids to see their mother bashing you and you not saying anything back. It will get better bud I promise. Soon as the kids are past 18 block her ass and never speak to her again | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/12/22 02:11 AM
Why do Women give up on their marriage more than men do?women do get a lot more attention from the opposite sex. Like others have said, they have a huge financial gain leaving and will give up if things get tough. Could be society now too. Back when the internet wasn’t so huge, marriages seem to last longer. Who knows. All I know is any woman who wants a divorce gains financially and always has a man waiting for her before she leaves. It’s like the wild out there. Other males will pounce at any sign of weakness It’s the circle of life lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/22 12:31 AM
In for a fight, does it sound like I have a chance?Without creating an adverse impact on my children’s livelihood??? What a load of garbage. If the roles were reversed and YOU made more more money, she would drain every penny she could. Please. I agree with everyone on here. That’s your house, your kids, 50/50 everything. Period. Sounds like she has something going on with her boss. Sorry man, I feel for you | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/22 01:30 AM
How do you cope?Oh Lord I have been there. Time will help a little especially if you didn’t want the divorce, and didn’t sign up to see your kids part time. What I did was ask if I can have them one night a week for dinner the weeks they were with their mom and offered the same on my weeks. This way you have something to look forward to and it isn’t such a stretch. When the kids get old enough they will be able to decide where they want to live. So remember, this is just a spec in your long term relationship wi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/10/22 06:10 PM
I need help, advice and support. This infuriates me! Sorry to say but us men get the total shaft when it comes to divorce. Even if we don’t want the divorce, the woman will always come out on top. You sacrificed your life for this country and your family and this is how the system repays you? Something is wrong here. I wish I could offer more advise but it seems when it comes to divorce, men will always be the bad guy. You have a lot of support from all of us who have been mistreated by this messed up system. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/10/22 03:46 AM
Please someone tell me this gets easier. Tell me I'm going to survive this.Friend, listen to me. This will pass. I feel the pain in your words. All of us have been there. It’s a death. Death of a marriage and of a wife. A life. Mourn her, the marriage, the life you thought you were going to have. Stay away from her, don’t ask about her, follow her on social media, need to go cold turkey. Only deal with her when it comes to the kids. Keep it about them, then turn her off again. It’s hard. Believe me. Believe me. But. I’m here to tell you, you will and CAN get through th… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/10/22 03:51 AM
I need helpI agree with everyone here. What I find funny is when a woman says she wants her own life and be “independent”, but has a man waiting in the wings. They stay until they find someone else. Period. That excuse is so outdated. No, you don’t want your own life or to be independent. You want to do what you want, break your hypocritical marriage vows and move on bc you’re bored. I feel for you. It’s a tough situation especially since you don’t want any of this. Plus the stinger that you’re up chit cre… | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/10/22 03:22 AM
What's the majority take on marriage here? Just stay away?Dude. Nailed it. Very well said. So true. Marriage is only for women. Even the whole ceremony focuses on her. What does that tell you. It starts with her and ends with her. It’s a woman’s celebration for never having to worry about money again. Throw in a few babies. Child support and Alimony. She set. Marriage used to be “till death do you part” but now it’s just till one person doesn’t want to be married anymore. So, why get married when people don’t stay till death do you part. Reason? Money … | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/10/22 02:14 AM
What do you guys do with pictures?I only kept the ones with her and the kids in it. I threw the rest of just me and her. Even our prom pictures. My case may be a little different bc she said she never loved me so why constantly look at something that that was a lie. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/10/22 04:41 PM
Anyone in CA been able to get wage garnishment ("earnings assignment") withdrawn?I had a shitty lawyer too. Sometimes I wondered whose side she was on. I’m sorry about all this and I completely feel your pain and you’re not alone brother | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/10/22 12:54 AM
Anyone in CA been able to get wage garnishment ("earnings assignment") withdrawn?Lifetime support? Something is WRONG with this system. Makes me so angry. You shouldn’t have to. I would try and overturn that if you’re can. Get a better lawyer. Unfortunately in CA, the woman will always come out on top. So not sure if it’s going to be with it or not. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/09/22 09:50 PM
Social Security divorce remarriage can someone explain? Can an ex come back after the divorce is finalized and go for your social security years later? I know that sounds stupid but nothing surprises me anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/09/22 06:30 PM
the system creates "deadbeat" dadsI would love to start a motion to have child support and alimony revamped. The system is sexist and believes just bc your the man, you are a certain way. If we have 50/50 custody we shouldn’t have to pay for child support. Period. So we end up paying for our time plus the time with their mother. How is that justified? Also there needs to be someone overseeing where this money is going. I’m sure the kids are not getting much of that. My ex got new breasts after our divorce. Hmmm. Wonder who paid … | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/08/22 02:22 AM
What makes you remarry? You are not alone brother. I’m there right along side with you | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/22 03:08 PM
What makes you remarry?Well said! Agree with you 100% | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/08/22 03:40 AM
Future proof my next marriage? If you’re already thinking of protecting yourself there’s your sign. Your family’s estate I believe is yours unless her name is on it. Any financial benefits from that estate has to be in a bank account under your name only under the trust. If it has her name on the account. You’re done. If you do decide to get remarried you have to find out all the laws and protect yourself. Im sure if she had assets as well she would protect her ass. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/08/22 10:21 PM
Future proof my next marriage?AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/08/22 10:16 PM
New Information.....Oh man. How I feel for you. Completely. She’s definitely got a guy. I’m positive. My ex fooled me different times by saying she’s going on a business trip or out with a friend. Yeah no. I found out later she was sleeping with a few men. Then left me for one of them. It’s kills inside. Kills. You will feel a bunch of different emotions and feeling and wonder if you’re going crazy. You’re not. She has broken her vows, your trust, and now she wants out. Know your worth. It’s easy to blame yourself … | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/08/22 12:52 AM
She's taking half of everything after spending our marriage doing nothing.Love it! Yes! | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/07/22 03:07 AM
Marriage questionAmen Brother! Don’t know why people get married anymore. Vows don’t mean anything anyway. Basically signing your life and money away not only now but later when she leaves your ass and takes half with her. Plus spousal support. No thanks. | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/07/22 03:03 AM
