I know a lot of women personally who prefer the manly look over the pretty boy type. However in the media I'd say pretty boy is winning. There are a few strong types who are still hanging in there though.

I know you guys want to champion the guys cause here, but honestly the problem goes much deeper than what this comical animated news clip from Taiwan shows you. Many Japanese men, these "herbivores" have just checked out of being functional members of society. It's not that they're rejecting social norms, they are giving up because its too hard and they can't deal with it. These are the types of guys who you see marrying their virtual girlfriend in the Nintendo DS game, or spending thousands of …

Here's the problem though - reverse the genders, and "call the police" would be the most given piece of advice. People would say that he is a criminal and needs to be put away so that he doesn't do this to anyone else. Go back to the original post, and let's say the OP leaves his girlfriend, but she's still physically abusive so now the next guy will have to deal with it. Not to mention that even if he did call the police, he'd probably be arrested. Not her.

Yeah it was a good screening process, but after a fair amount of second-date droughts it became clear if I wanted to have any sort of success while sticking to my guns I was going to have to get creative with my date planning. So instead of evening dinner, I planned for late afternoon coffee. If we were both standing in line I could tell her to go on ahead as I was still deciding, or if she was still deciding I would go on ahead, forcing a situation where she had to pay for herself. For a < $5 c…

I made the decision about halfway through my dating career to stop paying for women's dates. It was amazing how quickly my success rate for 2nd dates dropped. The 1st date would go perfectly well, then when the check came I'd only offer my half, see the weird look on her face, we'd end the date and from then on she'd be too "busy" to see me again. The women I dated were always on the same level financially as me, and I didn't plan needlessly extravagant dates. Yet, the expectation was there that…

I'm thinking you don't have kids. My daughter is 1 and a half and of course breastfeeding. She will probably continue until 2, so personally I don't see 3 being much of a stretch. Why does sucking on a breast have to be sexual?

Hey, another MRA in Japan. What's up? I will probably not have the same problem, as my daughter is quite obviously not 100% Japanese. But we'll then have the fun problem of people trying to speak English to us. Could be worse I guess.

I don't even know where to start. The few entries that do make sense apply to both sexes. There are quite a few entries that assume the woman is insecure and easily offended, and demand the man dance around those topics. There are a few entries that women do all the time to men. It assumes in several places that the woman is always right. #15 in particular is funny.

I'm uncircumcised and I love that I'm not. If Hallmark made "thanks for not snipping me" cards I'd send one to my parents every year. I'm not up in arms over the issue, so I'm on the same page there as you. However, it is interesting to note that while people are outraged over the idea of female genital mutilation, essentially the same thing performed on males is not only okay, but accepted as the norm. And it is fucked up that you've met women who would be weirded out by you. But like I said, n…

As a guy who did get married and had kids (well, one so far) more and more I feel the answer is no. Tax benefits? Yes. But considering how much money I lose in family costs it's not much of an incentive. Other than that I can't think of a good reason how being legally married ultimately benefits me. So why did I do it? That was just the plan that had been ingrained in me from when I was young. You get older, you settle down. Find a nice girl, marry her, have kids. I didn't stop to question it. M…

Why do you love someone who thinks it's okay to be abusive to you and assume the worst about your personality?

As a man who would want a child with a woman who I just casually hooked up with aborted, I would at least like to know. I know my legal rights are zero, and that's another story, but at the very least a "Hey, I'm pregnant and I'm certain its yours. I made the decision to abort, but I felt you should at least know this happened." would be greatly appreciated. I can't speak for the particular guy in question though.

Those comments are unbelievable. Because, 20 years later, that child isn't going to come knocking on his doorstep wondering what his or her father is like. No, that almost never happens... /sarcasm

Personally, I would say number 6 would be the main reason. Let's say it's Friday night. I'm a single guy, and I want to have sex. Not a relationship, not even friendship, just some good sex. I can put that out there but there aren't that many women looking for the same, and out of the few that are there are already dozens of guys lining up to fill the role. Don't believe me? Try posting two ads on craigslist - one as a single guy looking to get laid, and the same as a female. The female will hav…

Where is our "It's not OK to hit men" post? If I catch a guy stealing some of my stuff and I punch him in the stomach to stop him, are people going to stand up in outrage over how wrong it is for me to raise a hand to a guy? ...No? Why?

As a former beta male I believe the reason why it happened is because that's what I was taught. I was taught to respect and honor women by my parents. That's sound, reasonable advice. But then in the media I was bombarded by images of the guy trying to win over the affections of the woman. The nice guy who is there for her and eventually wins in the end. Then I had women themselves telling me that they wanted nice guys. I seemed to be popular with women, making lots of friends (no girlfriend, of…

I hope he's a troll, for the only reason that this being a true story makes me feel physically ill.

As has been already said, women are attracted to confidence. If given a choice, she'll choose the asshole over the nice guy because that's what's attractive to her. That's fairly simple and straightforward. The bigger problem is why we guys don't recognize this. We're taught growing up to respect and honor women. Somewhere along the way, this turns into us elevating them to a status above us. We're taught that the true way to a girl's heart is to be kind, gentle, caring, attentive. This is what …

Well, the guy must have done something to deserve it, right? Right? ...Sigh. I don't know what's worse - that if the genders were reversed everyone would have jumped out of their seats to pin the guy down, or imagining myself on that train, I probably wouldn't have done anything either for fear of me being the one arrested for attacking her.

As a former pick-up artist who is now married, I both agree and disagree with the idea. I think following "The Game" exactly is by no means universal. For example, the negging concept most certainly does not work on all women, and there are a great many who will be put off by it. I honestly believe that the game is really just false confidence in a can for men. We're taught to almost fear women; we hold them in an impossibly high regard that we don't feel we can reach ourselves. We are scared of…

Women already do rule our society. Just, subtly.

I'm just one guy and that was one school, but imagine if that happens to more guys at more schools. To be honest with you I was in the honors track throughout most of high school, and the male/female ratio was always skewed pretty badly. It'd be 30 girls to 5 guys in a class. Given that average, I would understand why some universities would try to apply affirmative action programs towards men, although in general I'm against the idea. I also don't know why or how things ended up like that. And …

I don't follow the education discrimination of the MRM much, but I can share a personal anecdote. Junior year of HS, my female honors chemistry teacher was radically sexist against men. She threw down the gauntlet on day 1 and we all knew that everyone with a Y chromosome was pretty much SOL. Sure enough, no guy got any better than a C in the class, while all the girls got As and Bs. One guy in particular was upset because it dragged his GPA down, and he'd been in competition with this other gir…

I experienced this first-hand in my junior-year HS physics class. The teacher was a self-described feminist. I remember the first week of class, some guys and girls were talking about football, and some guy said something to the effect of "girls can't play tackle football." She butts in and says "That's bullshit, women can do everything men can do if not better." All the guys kind of looked around at each other and the sentiment was "Welp, we're screwed." She wasn't a particularly good teacher, …

I like this idea a lot, but I really hope it's not gender exclusive. A woman should also have to pay up if she withholds sex in a marriage.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
