The blue pill trolls are in full force the whole day today.

I like how people still join the thread and respond to him.

It's how the people who hate him call him, and he wears it like an armor. Basically, what imp in GoT does.

The argument Kuroko no basuke was making on the subject of hard work vs. talent by the way had a good answer: Both are good enough in teamwork environments, like basketball. It's more important to bring something valuable to the table than being able to 1vs1 everyone.

They are. My "warning" was meant to be as "don't expect that you'll embody everything 100% all the time". There are many misinterpretations of Stoicism (how they're without emotions, how they advocate to avoid following your passion etc) but the main ideas are written in Meditations and the linked post.

Just a heads up: Stoicism is meant to be used as a compass in life, rules to remind you what is worthy of doing. The Stoics themselves sucked at being "perfectly Stoic". Also, check out this post.

Does anyone have any books they suggest related to stoicism? Marcus Aurelius "Meditations, a new translation".

I wish someone in /r/asktrp showed me this post. I'm extremely lucky for finding this sub. Thank you for the post!

When you said "that attitude in women" and "The presence of Chads creates that behavior in women in the first place" you were talking about the tendency to have orbiters or to fuck around?

Let me get this straight: You're blaming chads for the female hypergamy?

It's not a matter of appearance (so many people got the wrong idea), it's about my self-image. I feel I'm still a boy instead of feeling like a man. I don't feel masculine. Assertiveness and all. The looks are what encourage others to treat me like a boy when they refer to me. So when I attempt to apply masculine/assertive behavior people look at me and feel like they're watching a kitten trying to growl like a lion.

You just discovered TRP and you're pretending to have read everything on the sidebar and understood it completely? The trolls are on rampage today.

Having an orbiter harem is the socially acceptable way to spin plates for women. There, saved you from the wall of nonsensical text.

The problem isn't how I look, it's how I FEEL. I FEEL like a boy, and as a result I act boy-ish. I guess the downvotes come from the hordes of teenagers who browse the sub, but I mean no ill will.

I can't believe how OP is what he claims he is and still hasn't read and internalized the "48 laws of power".

In the transition you're hitting the "faux alpha" phase, meaning that you are trying to apply the mannerisms of an SMV others don't think you have.

But can you imagine him feeling bad for not being able to be a goalkeeper? He could but he wouldn't be "top of the world" player like he is now. That's why I'm an advocate of "look for potential things that you can have an advantage to become great" instead of simply "follow your passion". In my other comment I talk about basketball. Can you imagine Messi feeling bad for not being able to be a Center due to his height, no matter how much he wants to be?

And that's why you don't think "I only want to fuck Megan Fox", "I only study 6 years to work for Google". You go "I want to fuck hot women", "I want to work for a tech company that isn't shit", "I want to play for a professional football team" etc. If the first thinking "I only want to fuck that one girl" is oneitis, so are the other examples. By focusing on becoming the best you can be, you're also avoiding tunnel vision, which means you're aware of good opportunities that pop up all around.

This is what I want to do. Fix my perception. Another problem will be that people still refer to me as "hey boy" because I look younger.

Those aren't mutually exclusive things. There's nothing that stops him from acquiring knowledge while taking advantage of his natural properties. Check his wikipedia: Due to his short stature, Messi has a lower centre of gravity than taller players, which gives him greater agility, allowing him to change direction more quickly and evade opposing tackles

I've learned that by watching an anime about basketball (Kuroko no basuke). The average players while they loved basketball they had to come to terms with the fact that there was a team of talented people who utterly crush every competitor, with some of them delving into despair and questioning their choice to play basket. "Why bother when there are monsters like these guys around?". Tell me if we're on the same page. One thing I did for the feeling when it comes to programming (my field) is to …

That's a common misconception. You're not "gifted at soccer", your body is simply giving you tools that can be applied in many things, and soccer is one of many. Think of Phelps and his arms who applied it to swimming. For an example of a person who took advantage of his body, check Messi's story.

No, sorry bad wording on my behalf. I'm worse than the example. I get close to no facial hair at the sides and the follicles are far apart enough to look as patchy, like having small gaps in between them.

I actually don't grow enough to make a good stubble, like example. They're far apart. As for hair, I'm losing (have a small bald spot on top and on front sides) but it's not really bad. No glasses.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
