I'm 5'5 and I met my wife online dating in 2005. From what I've been hearing about the current generation, I am basically a dead man walking at my height these days in terms of being able to date. Back then it felt like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yes. But it’s interesting how in Portland no one seems to actively give a shit about the homeless in front of their faces but BLM advocacy is everywhere.

There are no cops in downtown Portland and the whole city is only 5.8% black. I don’t think there are all that many black homeless people in Portland simply because there just aren’t all that many black people in the Pacific Northwest.

I took my wife and kids to voodoo donuts downtown the other day. 4 homeless guys were hanging out in front at 8:00 am. One was covered in what I assume was his own shit and another was smoking what I assume was meth. How the hell am I supposed to explain that to a 10 and a 6 year old? Shame on me for taking them there, but I just wanted a touristy donut for them.

I don’t disagree with you. I was using the term tongue in cheek as white western feminism is what is on full display in Portland.

Undoubtedly there is plenty of female sex trafficking. I am not denying that. However, I also think there is a stronger built in societal support network specifically geared towards women in trouble.

https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/03/the-brutality-of-the-stone-age-only-one-man-had-children-for-every-17-women-8000-years-ago.html I love the paragraph at the end of this article: “The other takeaway: to be grateful we live in an age where it’s harder for a few powerful men to snatch up all the women for themselves. That sounds terrible for both men and women.” Hahaha. The article is just 8 years old. I can’t imagine slate allowing that sentence today.

/r/AllPillDebate26/06/23 12:36 AM

No one said only. But the overwhelming majority of women have a height threshold that must be reached or it’s a deal breaker. Tall men have confidence because they get positive reinforcement from society and women. For short men it’s the opposite.

Parroting every single progressive dogma circa 2023 does not make one emotionally intelligent. Reactionary? Sure. Easily influenced by social media and progressive education on campus? No doubt. But emotionally intelligent? I don't see quite see how.

Most trans men end up with lesbians and still remain in the queer orbit. Heterosexual women overwhelmingly will not give them the time of day in terms of dating. They basically are lesbians with extra steps.

They can’t and they often can’t afford children if they want to provide them with anywhere near the opportunities the previous generations had. Hence the falling birthrate. Sure but a plurality of couple are now meeting online and the trend is heading towards greater societal atomization and even more people forming romantic relationships via OLD.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/23 10:28 AM

I’m a 5’5 guy who is married but I don’t dismiss the struggles of the shorter man in the age of OLD.

Not just me too but online dating and COVID. We live on our phones now. Our real lives are online and our flesh and blood existence is mostly just to develop content for our online avatars. Big mixed gatherings with lots of people are scary! It’s much easier to just scroll through images of people and judge them based on whatever the algorithm seems important.

Absolutely nothing wrong with being a tomboy.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/23 12:05 PM

It’s ridiculous. When my son was 3-4 years old my wife had him hanging out with neighbors who all had daughters. He played with dolls, he would dress up like princesses with them and he watched My Little Pony. We didn’t start pretending that he was a girl trapped in a boy’s body. It was a phase. Now he likes ghost hunting, hockey and fishing. And like most 9 year old boys, he wants nothing to do with girls.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/23 11:57 AM

Child pageants certainly are off putting to me. However, whatever my personal feelings are on them, they don’t result in lifelong medicalization and the sterilizing of children who clearly do not yet have the capability to make the kinds of medical decisions that trans-advocacy flippantly pretends they do. Anyways, I’d like to keep my Reddit account, so I’ll avoid this third rail topic and self-censor just like they want me to.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 09:02 PM

Why does the fact you like to wear heels mean that your type has to be significantly taller? You’re allowed to like whomever, I just hear this a lot and don’t understand it. If the guy is five inches taller than you and you are the same height when you’re in five inch heels, why would that disqualify him in your eyes?

I’m met my wife OLD back in 2005 on an OG ethnic specific app. From what I’ve heard about OLD today, I’d just be wasting my time at 5’5. Edit: not even app. Website. And when we chatted it was on AIM 😂

“Looks” really aren’t a big deal to most women. They really will accept a wide variety of physical attributes in men. I’ve seen Quasimodo looking dudes absolutely slay. Just have to be 6’2…

Are you saying this is a banned word or something? All I was trying to say is that many men who feel rejected by women throw out "the wall" as their own coping mechanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/23 05:43 PM
1

The wall is a cope. I see many extremely beautiful women who age well. The only real wall is female fertility.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/23 04:55 PM

You have a height preference in a mate. That’s perfectly fine and downright normal in females. Why do you feel the need to gaslight everyone else to justify your choices?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 10:01 PM

Maybe but that doesn’t change the definition I presented for what constitutes the average American male.

It’s just narrower. Just be tall. In the west, just be white. And finally once you meet those two, it’s just don’t be deformed.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 09:50 PM
16

Exceptions don’t prove the rule. At 6’1 you have an innate genetic advantage in the dating market. Obviously you’re going wrong somewhere else.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 09:43 PM
15

Even you admitted that you care about height, you’re just not a “height queen”. For the overwhelming majority of women, height is incredibly important. It’s the first hurdle a mate has clear, especially with the increasing frequency of OLD.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 09:42 PM
18

That’s the exact opposite of what I’m saying. Men certainly place a premium on looks, but they will like tall, short, big boobs, small boobs, blonde, brunette, etc. Women may prefer blonde over brunette but that typically is a concern only after the height criteria is met.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 09:14 PM
2

Widespread limb lengthening surgery will make 190 cm the new 180.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/23 09:11 PM
36

That men overvalue female attractiveness while women look at the whole package. The reality is the majority of women have very rigid objective criteria that men must meet whereas men value female beauty but there is a much wider set of traits that men will consider as beautiful.

It’s not 1950. There isn’t a single disadvantage that women have in terms of access to education or the labor market. You do not want equality. You want to flip the script and expect that half the population will just silently acquiesce. Not gonna happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 05:02 PM
1

Are you intentionally being dense? If you are the most qualified person for your position, you should 100 percent be the one who gets the job. But there shouldn’t be quotas on women getting access to higher education or particular jobs solely on the basis of their gender. Why is this concept so offensive to you? You want merit based “access to your pussy” but a privileged position to access for education and jobs. You are what we call…a hypocrite.

I’m saying if the cream is supposed to rise to the top in the dating market than the same principles should apply in the labor market. Why is that so controversial? Is it maybe because one side unquestionably benefits women while the other side…not so much?

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-common-is-it-for-a-man-to-be-shorter-than-his-partner/amp/ 3.4% of couples were the same height. 4.1% the female was taller. This was from 2000 in the UK. I have no doubt that online dating has reduced these figures, but nonetheless they are hardly statistically irrelevant.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/23 12:32 PM

Women typically want a man taller than them. A small minority will date men the same height as them, especially if they themselves are tall. An even smaller minority will date men shorter than them. But this is not some statistically irrelevant subset of women. I know several couples just in my peer group where the woman is taller than their mate. Is it common? Absolutely not but it’s not like the frequency of some rare genetic disorder the way you’re presenting it.
