You’re right, lesson learned. There are plenty of men who suggest appropriate dates from the get go.

I would not eat indoors at a restaurant either. There are lots of restaurants with outdoor seating and you can also get takeout and eat in an outdoor space.

To address your concern about wasting an hour talking to someone over a meal who you realize you’re not attracted to/interested in: You can always leave! I’ve done it before when someone didn’t look like their pictures and another time in the middle of dinner when he said a racial slur. Just say, “Thank you, but I don’t think this is working out” or “I’m gonna go” or make up a reason if you feel so inclined.

You have to set your standards from the get go. You can’t back track. If you accept a “coffee date” as the first date, that sets the precedent for your whole relationship. Don’t expect nice dinners, thoughtful gifts, vacations, and anniversary presents from the guy who suggests coffee as a first date.

Ofc! You always have to wonder if dudes like this have some kind of nefarious motive. Why else do you want to get me alone in a park? What would impede you from spending 30 dollars on food? This strategy must work for him I guess. It makes me sad for the women who have gone on “park dates” with him.

Yeah like I said in my post I have a career and have no problem supporting myself. This man has gotten me expensive gifts before when I haven’t asked (shoes, jewelry, art). These things are really nice, but I care less about these things than I would my rent and groceries lol. But you’re probably right that it’s uncomfortable to bring up money. I guess don’t knock a good thing.

Right when she became internationally famous in 2009 many tabloids were publishing articles that she had a penis and was secretly a man.

We went on three dates before coronavirus. We have mutual friends and that’s how we met. We live in the same city, but I work with vulnerable populations so I’m not dating irl at all right now because I don’t want to risk exposing them to the virus. He’s been super understanding. We do Zoom/Discord dates and will watch movies and make dinner together.

Don’t be his girlfriend. Do what FDS recommends and refuse to be exclusive until you are engaged. To me, “girlfriend” means free sex maid chef with no promise of commitment. Keep your options open until someone offers you commitment. Remember that you are the prize.

Thanks for the reply. Generosity and intelligence are important, but a lot of the values I hold dear come from my opinions on social issues. I don’t think I would have very much in common with someone who had opposite political values. My mother is a democrat and my father is a republican. It led to lots of fighting and I think contributed to their divorce. I think it’s a compatibility issue similar to interfaith marriage.

Omg you guys what’s wrong with wanting to marry a tall man? I have to spend my whole life with them and look at them every day. I’d like to be attracted to them.

Really? Most doctors and lawyers I know are Democrats. I feel like upper middle class people in general are Democrats.

Disagree. I don’t find short men attractive and I don’t want short kids.

My worst fear is marrying a man who I misjudged in thinking they will be a good partner and father. As a nursing student I saw many shitty birthing partners and only a few good ones during my OB clinical rotation. A lot of boyfriends/husbands would sleep, complain (how long is this gonna take), and had obviously done no research on birth or babies. What are some green flags during dating that indicate the man will be a good birthing partner/father?

He straight up said to you, “You’re not the one”??? You are being a placeholder girlfriend until he finds someone he really likes. No doubt he is using you for sex.

This happened to my mom. She told me when the doctor was sewing up her episiotomy he started joking with my father about “sewing her up tighter”. Ignored the fact that my mom wasn’t completely numb (hadn’t used enough anesthetic) and was saying “Stop, stop” until he noticed her recoiling away from him. Treated her like an object to sew up. This was in the late 90s.

I am so glad you dumped him! Never unblock. You deserve a man who treats you like a queen on your b-day.

Once I made a light hearted joke about my ex cumming after 30 seconds of sex, and he had a mental breakdown and threatened to stab himself in front of me. Today I own a a collection of vibrators and I’m doing just fine!!

Why would you admit you lost your virginity by raping someone? “I just happened to be there to help her home”?? You literally preyed on that woman by acting as if you were helping her when your real motive was to rape her. People who are so drunk they don’t know where they are cannot consent to sex. You are a scumbag.

How am I a princess? I think a lot of women feel this way. If you get hundreds of messages you can’t reply to all of them. You have to pick the most interesting ones.
/r/seduction30/04/20 01:57 AM

Basically my point is that women get so many messages that for a chance of a response you have to say something interesting that sparks conversation. I personally don’t message first, reply to “hi/hello” “how are you” or one liners. If the message seems like it was copied and pasted to 50 other women, I don’t reply either.
/r/seduction30/04/20 12:01 AM

Because I’ve gotten so many similar messages, it makes the message generic and boring. For me to reply to a guys message it has to pique my interest by standing out from the rest. Also, dating apps can be a form of escapism and I would rather not talk about how I’m stuck at home. Let’s talk about music or where you want to travel etc. Much more interesting.

I wouldn’t answer this. I’ve gotten 30 similar messages.

Can you explain how this works in action? For example, let’s say you’ve been dating a guy for 6 months. Would he be apprehensive to introduce you to his friends and family if you don’t agree to have the “girlfriend” title? Do you have sex with him? If you’re sleeping with him before engagement and you’re not exclusive with him, how is that different than being a friends with benefits? I like this concept, I’m just wondering what the proposed timeline of events is.

It’s true! Their bodies are not developed enough. They can experience bone loss because the fetus leeches nutrients and their bones are not fully developed. They have low birth weight infants and more premature births.

Okay thanks for the reply! I’m just wondering did you meet people at work or through hobbies? I’ve found it difficult to meet other young professionals.
